Okay. I haven't been following the entire discussion, but it looks like the consensus for our soon-to-be monetary reward is:

1. Pay Ranald his Tithe
2. Pay Mathilde's debts
A. To the Grey College (if there's any still outstanding)
B. To the EIC
C. To any third parties I do not remember
3. Invest in Mathilde's home(s)
A. Build a high(er) lab in at least one
B. Get a place in K8P
C. Other related expenses
4. Go "shopping"
5. Buy goodwill through charitable donations
You forgot to tithe the Grey College.

You know for a choice I suspect was taken for shits and giggles, that Ranald worshiper vote from the very start has provided a ton of enjoyable and unique story.

One thing we can probably do with our money is fund the shadow war beneath Wurtbad against the Skaven.
There is no shadow war beneath Wurtbad against skaven.

No, seriously, there actually isn't. The skaven influence in Stirland was all in the southern parts that we never managed to expand the Watch to, meaning that our decision to combine them with the sewer jacks and gong farmers and then hire someone who knew about the War Below to run them was never able to be exploited by training them into an anti-skaven force. It was one of the great disappointments of how that turned out; we ate a lot of morale hits in our administration in order to prep for a war that we never got to actually fight.

Buy a Battle Blimp.

We don't have a thread consensus.

Wisdom may suggest that Mathilde simply wait until all the mercenaries have collected their pay and left the Karak before she shows up for her cut. "Open an account for me in the First Bank of Karak Eight Peaks, using this as my starting balance" would also be an excellent route as it would involve not actually taking any physical wealth until she needs it; dwarf society almost certainly has the kind of sophisticated financial institutions which would be needed for that to work.

That's a very sensible thing to do. However, we still need a physical pile of gold for Mathilde to sleep on like a dragon. For... reasons. :V

It could still happen in the future, but we probably won't be around to see it.

He smiles that infuriatingly smile of his, the one you spent years practising until you could project mysterious smugness as well as him.
Achievement Unlocked!
you say goodbye to the grocer you had been working for as Alys Schmidt and report smugly back.
Your smug smile is fixed in place as the first of the other riders arrives.

When the Citadel is taken, payment and other matters are settled, and the Expedition is over, and it comes to spare time and shopping, what I want to stand for is filling out knowledge of Moderately Complicated tier Ulgu spells at the college to get another +1 Magic, and then grabbing Shadow Knives from the Fiendishly Complex list.
You conjure and throw several knives (scaling with magical ability and mastery of the spell) at a target at short range that passes through any non-magical armour.
It slices, it dices, it penetrates armor, it adds fries on the side! It's like a gun but quieter! It's like the Dread Aspect Mastery but at range! It brings to mind one of Boney's earliest comments on magic in combat: Now it's just unfair.

@BoneyM

Given we've talked about the average share for mercenaries and Mathilde's outsize haul, what is the average share for the other commanders expected to be? 10 shares, 15?

I know you haven't totted up all the achievements yet to work out if anyone get's bonuses, but I'm curious as to what sort of level of pay is expected to be given to commanders versus your generic mercs.

The Dwarves are doing it for the glory and grudges, the Knights are doing it because they see it as righteous, the Halflings are doing it for a home. That only leaves you and Codrin, and you can only presume that Codrin's final remuneration is as unspecified as yours.

Ah shucks, now I feel a little bad.

So what are our chances of being able to just straight up buy Solland instead? We'd be a real Elector Count! :V

Hmm. well, you can't be an Elector Count without a Runefang. There are two without provinces right now, Grudge Settler (Solland's) and the one that belonged to Drakwald, although what it was called I don't know. We could go on a nice sword heist after this :V

Have fun being the Elector Count of a literal wasteland.

I hear the WAAAGH's are nice this time of year.
