I've used that conceit in an omake, just about my first, for BAHHSCQ. This quest is even longer, to re-write up even minor chunks as a tabletop would be a considerable undertaking.

What I did in that quest was present an imagined tabletop character generation 'session zero'- which as you've identified might again be a more fertile ground than retelling the events of the quest we're after all all familiar with. How did the table wind up with a Council of Anton, Kasmir, Wilhelmina, Mathilde, de Verezzo and... the architect guy everyone always forgets the name of. Schmidt?
Detlef Schultz IIRC.

This action could be good for getting High Elf books. Normally we'd be able to get them from Marienburg, but the recent tensions have blocked that off. (Credit to Jyn Ryvia for this post.) Let's just steal the books from them. Not like there's consequences for pissing them off.
The problem with a no questions asked bounty is that you can't ask any questions. Questions like "Did you steal this from Marienburg?" Taking that option puts us at risk for all our interactions with any libraries in the old world.

Working on an out-of-pocket book purchase list for the upcoming turn.

Trade:
Eonir Extensive (100 gc). As there's been talk of expanding the EIC into Laurelorn, getting solid market information on the region is of simple and significant benefit. These books may well end up paying for themselves.

Shallya; the Lady of the Lake:
Bretonnian Basic (100 gc). I believe there's some interest in these two for Ranald the Father reasons so why not.

Forest Spirits:
Dwarven Basic, Eonir Basic, Imperial Basic (150 gc). The magic of our hag witch contributor is primarily based on forest spirits but it's something Mathilde has little knowledge of. Getting her a basic familiarity with them would be helpful, and from three different sources even more so.

At a total of 350 GC, this plan is well within our means, and will also help us get more.
Why not just grab the underlined ones through the Eonir purchase option? It would save us gold we can spend on other books and give more book on the relevant topics.

Way I see it the one guy who was embezzling money and got executed was probably one of those toxic That Guy players who was causing issues until they eventually got kicked out of the group.

As I said: High Elf books. The only place in the Old World you can get them from is Marienburg. The info post said so.

The thread wants to do Back-fill but we're doing the related actions next turn. Out of pocket is the only way to get the books in time.

Does anyone know if there's a list of libraries and universities in the thread? I tried searching but couldn't find one.

There's a difference between the only place you can buy something on the open market and the only place that thing exists, unless you are suggesting no old world library outside of Marienburg has any High Elf books in their collections.

For the back fill thing I know some people have expressed interest but I really don't see the value in it and it seems especially wasteful to do it when there are two seperate Eonir topics we want books for. I'd much rather get the maximum possible number of books we are planning to use and increase the bargaining power when trading for access to libraries over pursuing some arbitrary largest number of numbers go up goal.

The main reason the thread wants to do Backfill is to increase bargaining power when trading access to libraries by getting as many books as possible, which is what Back-fill does.

Hey, quick question. How the heck do you upload a photo from your computer onto here? I've looked at the tutorials and can't see anything.

Also I know I uploaded a photo a while ago, but I have no idea how I did that, so.

I don't think there's one, no. But some are mentioned in the Turn when Mathilde considers various approaches to book cataloging and in the possible Turn Actions.
Other libraries consider the entire corpus of writings split into the three categories of Morals, Science, and Devotion, which seems actively unhelpful to you. The libraries of the Colleges are focused almost entirely on magical theory and the specializations of their Orders, the Great Library of Altdorf is split according to the subjects of the University of Altdorf it adjoins, and you've heard the Great Library of Marienburg is as much an organ of government as it is a body of knowledge and as such focuses a great deal on jurisprudence and the civil records of the city.

[ ] Seek an exchange arrangement with another Library to be able to make copies of their corpus (specify which, eg: Great Library of Marienburg, Great Library of Altdorf, Ancient Library of Carroburg)
Difficulty will depend on the size, prestige, and disposition of the library in question, and the relative impressiveness of Kron-Azril-Ungol.
[ ] Seek an agreement with a Cult to have access to their libraries (specify which, eg: Verenans, Myrmidians, Sigmarites)
Difficulty will vary heavily depending on the Cult in question, but can allow access to rare tomes and esoteric subjects.
Let's summon @picklepikkl and his forbidden thread searching powers. Or maybe @Codex has already compiled such list on her PC :)

I am sure that rare lost tomes suddenly appearing at our library won't peeve off any people whose interests are rare books. Its just asking for trouble down the road.

Like, i will be honest, poking someone with expectations that they have no way to poke back when you are dealing with High Elves is bigger hubris than me saying we could probably bind Drycha. Just because the consequences aren't something you or i can think of doesn't mean Boney can't.

EDIT: Grabbed the wrong post, meant to respond to the High Elf books bounty one.

Right but the bargaining argument makes no sense to me, why would backfill increase our bargaining power more than Eonir books? Which is a more attractive offer, "Hey I want to bargain with you I have a ton of books you either already have or could easily buy if you wanted them" or "Hey I want to bargain with you I have a small number of books that I am the sole source of."

Not to mention that the books we get through backfill are books we are likely to be able to get free copies of after getting copying access to other libraries. So it increases our bargaining power less than Eonir and it decreases the payout from successfully bargaining.

I'm pretty sure you need to host it somewhere else- I use imgur, but I'm sure there's better options.

Who exactly do you think has the means and motive to get back at us? The Directorate will do nothing about some stolen books; they don't care and they're already embargoing the Empire. Book merchants? I doubt they have spies on call willing and able to go after a Lord Magister of the Grey College.
Ah, whoops, I thought you were proposing stealing directly from the High Elves. Issue with stealing them from Marienburg would be that I kinda doubt they've got a bunch of copies of what we're looking for lying around - buying books through them (if we could) would I'm pretty sure entail putting in a specific order and then waiting for them to get the relevant materials from the elves, not just digging around in some Big Warehouse of Miscellaneous Tomes.

Not @DammerlichtWriter?

WorldWideWeber
I know that you were referencing the WWW but for a second I thought you were talking about "Mr. Worldwide" Pitbull himself.

As much as I want Mathilde to have that nickname to add to her list of titles, there are like 4 continents left to explore before she can gain that title.

Well, hopefully we'll have time for that eventually. I'm... assuming once we get our current research thing properly started we'll end up leaving it to the people who've been studying magic/runes for centuries and work on other shorter term research actions instead of stuff that'll take the next thousand years+ to figure out.

I honestly don't much care about traveling anywhere but northeast again. Other than my Kurgan obsession and my contractual obligation to revisit Karag Dum, the Empire, the Karaz Ankor and Kislev are plenty enough for me.

I guess the holiday in Nagarythe and a short trip to Bretonnia would also be interesting. But I don't feel any burning desire to visit the not!Americas, Ind, Cathay, Nippon or some even less developed area of the world. I trust Boney that he could make any of it exiting, but I enjoy his deepening the lore of places we linger for longer even more.

I like the idea of exploring the world but I don't want to leave our cast of characters so don't worry, it's just idle musing. If we were playing a different character maybe I'd vote for it, but Mathilde is too connected to the Old World for me to advocate extended leave. 99 days in Ulthuan sounds fun, but that's essentially just a vacation. A vacation where you murder people.

A slaycation.
