In moments that SV's rules say Boney can't show us.
Common misconception - SV's rules actually allow quite a bit of leeway for mature content if tastefully handled & appropriately labeled. Boney's simply elected not to make use of said leeway (so you are correct insofar as the relevant moments can indeed be assumed to remain off-screen).

As long as it's tagged appropriately and 'handled in a mature and appropriate way', SV's rules allow for content 'where sex (is) explicit, but still form(s) part of a larger body of work', while disallowing content 'where sex (is) explicit and form(s) the purpose or a significant portion of the work'. The lack of explicit sex scenes in this quest is a decision I have made, rather than one that has been forced upon me.

@Boney

1. Do the dwarves have books on spirits? I'm not sure if they've fought them enough for that.
2. Would apparitions have their own library subject or do they fall under Spirits?
3. Could we practice apparition binding on spites? I remember it was an option to try it on Drycha.

Spirits could theoretically be studied as a holistic category, but Mathilde is not aware of anyone that has done so. Apparitions is its own category, Spites and Dryads fall under Forest Spirits, formerly human spirits would fall under either Necromancy, Shyish, or the lore of various death gods. Dwarves would have Forest Spirits, Necromancy, and Gazul lore.

3. Could we practice apparition binding on spites? I remember it was an option to try it on Drycha.

Try it and find out.

On that matter, would we already have books in that category from Gehenna's notes? Maybe Only Esoteric, like the skaven Chaos Dwarf books we have.

No, the only actual book Mathilde has is the It's Totally Not Daemonology Officer handbook, and while Gehenna's lessons taught her how to do it, her notes on them don't add up to a corpus. Each +1 is at the very least one massively detailed honker of a tome and more typically somewhere between an armful and a shelf of books.

Would Elementals be yet another category of spirit? If so, would Arabyan books on Djinn also be filed under that?

Mathilde doesn't know enough about either to speculate. If a pile of both arrived in her mailbox right now, Elementals would be filed under Elementalism and Djinn would be filed under Djinn or possibly Fakirism.

Working on an out-of-pocket book purchase list for the upcoming turn.

Trade:
Eonir Extensive (100 gc). As there's been talk of expanding the EIC into Laurelorn, getting solid market information on the region is of simple and significant benefit. These books may well end up paying for themselves.

Shallya; the Lady of the Lake:
Bretonnian Basic (100 gc). I believe there's some interest in these two for Ranald the Father reasons so why not.

Forest Spirits:
Dwarven Basic, Eonir Basic, Imperial Basic (150 gc). The magic of our hag witch contributor is primarily based on forest spirits but it's something Mathilde has little knowledge of. Getting her a basic familiarity with them would be helpful, and from three different sources even more so.

At a total of 350 GC, this plan is well within our means, and will also help us get more.

Any outburst of hubris that i may or may not have caused should not be taken seriously :V

More seriously, the spites are already bound. The entirety of Laurelorn is contracted to elves by Grey Lords, so that probably isn't an option.

Sometimes I forget that English takes words from other languages and just adds "Ism" at the end. I was wondering what being poor had anything to do with Djinn, but then I realised you were talking about the Ascetic order rather than the Arabic word for the unfortunate.

[ ] Set up a no-questions-asked bounty system for books within the Cult of Ranald
Results will be unreliable and depending on what is sought may result in blowback, but this may allow you to acquire books that would otherwise be entirely inaccessible.
This action could be good for getting High Elf books. Normally we'd be able to get them from Marienburg, but the recent tensions have blocked that off. (Credit to Jyn Ryvia for this post.) Let's just steal the books from them. Not like there's consequences for pissing them off.

...is this sarcasm? 'cause I can think of a few possible consequences for pissing off a foreign power known to possess highly competent diplomats and spies, not to mention one we hope to one day visit in good standing, even if it's admittedly unlikely that they'll come over here in force to do something about it directly.

Damn, if only theft existed in Warhammer. Guess we'll just have to wait till Ranald invents it.
I don't think that attempts of magical incursion we don't fully understand into magical contract (that we also don't understand) of our very tenuous allies on whose cooperation and grounds we rely in our next big project is an advisable move.

Its not actually April 1st in most (any) of the world anymore :V

Who exactly do you think has the means and motive to get back at us? The Directorate will do nothing about some stolen books; they don't care and they're already embargoing the Empire. Book merchants? I doubt they have spies on call willing and able to go after a Lord Magister of the Grey College.

So random idea for anyone who wants to write an omake. Basically recontextualizing the events of this quest as if it was a long running Tabletop roleplaying game with Mathilde being a player.

First Campaign can be her time in Stirland, with the council being the other players.

Second Campaign could be her time at 8-Peaks with the various Wizards and Dwarves as the other players.

There is a mini-Campaign with the expedition.

Finally the current Campaign is the waystone project.

On that note how would the players of the various character be like? For example I'd imagine Mathilde was a relatively new player at the start who liked romance and mystery novels with a friend from the book club being the one to invite her.

I've used that conceit in an omake, just about my first, for BAHHSCQ. This quest is even longer, to re-write up even minor chunks as a tabletop would be a considerable undertaking.
On that note how would the players of the various character be like?
What I did in that quest was present an imagined tabletop character generation 'session zero'- which as you've identified might again be a more fertile ground than retelling the events of the quest we're after all all familiar with. How did the table wind up with a Council of Anton, Kasmir, Wilhelmina, Mathilde, de Verezzo and... the architect guy everyone (Edit: at the table) always forgets the name of and ignores. Schmidt?
