I'm personally favoring the Longshanks or the Order of the Light. Assuming we can't split the accolades between the Longshanks and the Witch Hunters.

I'm sort of sad that this was divine influence though. At first I thought this was a local code phrase + the side-effects of having a familiar, and that felt neat to me.
It was originally that, yeah. You can see that there's no unknown bonus during the initial chase. It was that combo of traits that drew Ulric's attention in the first place. Otherwise, Mathilde usually doesn't think of things in terms of pack dynamics, nor does she focus so much on smells and emotions.

You are also uncomfortably aware that you had more company than that of Ranald on this night's work, and you don't mean your colleagues among the Longshanks. Perhaps you should not have given a wolf's howl with sword in hand while pursuing a Slaaneshi Magus through the streets of a holy city. That is an uncomfortable density of resonances, you feel uncomfortably watched from multiple angles right now.

Avatar perk at work! Ulric or Taal? Not a bad thing either way, though complications might happen.

Can't we split the credit? Publically claim a joint operation of Grey Order and Longshanks, for example?

It was the signal to the Taalites, and Mathilde being really good at it came from Wolf.

What was the minimum percentage roll he needed to still survive this? or would he just start quoting monty python and keep on going?

About 35, I suppose.

All of them except Longshanks are 'joint operation with X'. It's not who gets all the credit, it's who gets Mathilde's portion of it.

He rolled really well, but at the end of the day the deck was thankfully stacked too hard against him. Pity we didn't get much in the way of leads, but honestly the way this turned out confirms for me that minimizing the complications as much as possible was the right play, considering even with that he gave a good chase.

I'm inclined to either Yourself or the Longshanks. Most people that could cause Mathilde trouble for this would be able to find out anyway, and the kudos could help open doors for us. Longshanks on the other hand is more ephemeral, but having a witch hunter order with goods ties is a solid benefit.

Although thinking about that, both they and Regimand may know a bit more about the issue of the gryphon woods considering their proximity. @Boney is that something we could ask them about?

Also, wrt giving the credit... yeah, I wanna go for the Longshanks. Call me a sap, but they were instrumental in helping us catch this guy, and have been nothing but nice to Mathilde. The longshank facing him miraculously cut Alberich apart with the sword he had brought with him, no grey wizards here, no siree.

I think Longshanks deserve the blame credit for helping out so thoroughly. And it basically leaves Alric absolutely nothing in terms of credit, credibility, credence, and other things starting with cre-.

Imagine promising a noble family to protect them from a scary daemon, only for a holy order to do that instead, as their civic duty. I like the idea a lot, and unfortunately can't articulate the real and imagined benefits enough, so I'm just gonna hype it instead.

Ah, I see. Still, would "Grey Order" also be an option? Regimand was also there, after all.

Things nobody expected: Khorne courting a Grey Wizard
Fantasy Khorne is much looser on the rule about magic since there isn't technology to boost your body. If you're Casting Fist instead of UNLIIMITED POWER, he's cool.
I think it's Ulric, because of the wolf.
The fact both Khorne and Ulric's totem animal is a wolf... that's something nobody says aloud anymore. But those forefathers who felt the wrath of Teutongen tribe of old, home of the Berserkers and their King that cut their blades on their neighboring tribesmen, have never forgotten the howls that came from blood and snow alike.

Turns out when you bully people, you don't make many friends.

I think I'd rather let the Longshanks take credit here since we already went above and beyond in helping Mira sabotage Alric. Cultivating a relationship with a major God's holy order would be useful for a Grey wizard, and the credit has a better impact if it's portrayed that Taal's faithful handled their own problems - it did take place right under their noses in their holy city after all.

That's my thoughts too. Even if Mathilde did most of the investigative work here the cooperation of the Longshanks and the Hunter Lord was vital to cornering Albrecht.

The Longshanks don't really have jurisdiction in Ostermark, but Mathilde will bring it up with Regimand.

Regimand doesn't want the credit.

[ ] The Templars of Sigmar

Far from me to participate in discussion here. But let me just add my voice to the few that are saying that we should keep our eyes on the prize.

Get in, get the goods, get out. We are here to make sure none of this spills towards the Empress.

This is more than enough to pay for the Goodwill of the Light Order. Longshanks are not a useful ally for the Waystone Project. And stroking Mathilde's ego with another victory won't really be that useful.

Be wary of the reflex to go for "Sigmar bad". Begrudgingly use them as "the brick wall they are", if that makes you feel better. But keep the eyes on the prize behind all of this.

By my reckoning, I count four gods here: Ranald, Ulric, Taal, and Slaanesh.

Concerning.
