Depends on the tech level of the setting and how handwavy the psychics are, given I could see a Si-fi plot using young children's brains as part of a quantum device, due to the idea of human brains being such quantum machines. Which is unproved and far as I'm aware very unlikely so far. That and how much morals do you throw out the window is of course a given with the former idea.

Tzeench, is that you? :V

I mean... ok. That's kind of raising the bar unnecessarily Ranald. All we were trading was our insight into the nature of Gods. And now you're telling us we're an Aunt! Damn it Ranald! How many birthdays have we missed? GET BACK HERE MISTER! I WANT TO KNOW OUR NIECES!

PS: I am now founding the "We must use the Coin of the Father at least once in the Empire" as well as the "Maybe we should set the Coin to the Father when going on our Elf trip" faction. Because you know that smug bugger isn't going to just tell us who they are.

Not of Their nature but the new face of the Coin is directly useful for making contact with their cults. Ranald wouldn't have given Mathilde a backstage VIP pass if said pass was never expected to be used.
Yeah, looks like we got something to try out and see what comes of it, I guess.

Putting the Father facet on for a bit, and seeing what comes of it, while going world-walking or going through connections with the Ranaldite underworld. And going through Shallyan temples with it on too.

Seriously though. The sheer level of trust given here? I am satisfied. Best mortal friend status is secured.

Also I would not be surprised if we get a visit from some priests for our random social this turn.

Given the risk I would rather set it to the 'help us not die' face for the elf trip

@Boney since Ranald altered the painting, is there a trace of divine energy on it? Something we could get a priest to look at?

Yes, but it's the divine energy of Ranald and wouldn't really reveal anything. Being able to alter depictions of themselves is a pretty well-established ability for all sorts of supernatural entities.

Also, is Ranald a good painter?

He exactly matched the style of the original painter, so He's either a very good painter or He cheated.

Huh. Ranald's settling down and becoming a family man.

...Heidi was right. We really are a bad influence. :p

(Also I can't quit giggling at the mental image of Shallya being highly concerned at the strange woman Ranald's introducing their daughters to.)

......Ranald is a dad.

Ranald, Mr. "I got my priest to become the empress of Sigmar's Empire," the con-man, the guy who fist-fought Khorne is a dad.

A dad.

WELL MY FIRST QUESTION IS WHEN THE FUCK DID THAT HAPPEN

I am now infinitely curious about these daughters, and want to find out more next time we have a private action (trust Ranald to steal our action economy, I guess)

@Boney since we did not choose prudence we can still let AV touch the divine just not to make prints, or am I getting this wrong? Because if we can still make dead Ranald power I would like to try tongs with divine power.

Looks at mollusk-shaped constellation caused by the warping of a thousand stars by a blackhole's tear in space-time...all coincidental of course.

But more seriously, depending on how well established the Daughter's are, then we can probably either expect a Cult popping up somewhere to take note of, forming in 8-peaks among the Human population, or we could be quite the starting point for them. Though I find the third the most unlikely out of the options I proposed.

I'm not really interested in getting anything concrete from the daughters, but I really want to meet them. If they're anything like their father, they should be really fun to interact with. I wonder if they might be a bit more talkative, instead of communicating exclusively through signs and omens. Maybe something more like what Heidi has with Ranald.

He exactly matched the style of the original painter, so He's either a very good painter or He cheated.
Wouldn't art forgery fall under his domain? That would explain his skills at perfectly replicating an artist's style.

This word choice has me thinking that Ranald's daughters are the result of Him cheating on Shallya with some mortal, and She was kind enough to adopt them. :(
I mean, they bear heavy resemblance to their parents:
So you sigh, stand to leave, and then freeze as you turn towards the door and catch sight of the painting of Ranald and Shallya, because now among the picnicking couple and Their twin flocks of crows and doves are two small girls, one who heavily resembles Her father with a hint of Her mother, and the other Her mother with a hint of Her father.
So I think that's not even a thing we should worry about.

I think that reading between the lines this is a secret he told Mathilde because she's proven herself trustworthy to the point of sacrificing opportunities for advancement when it potentially contains the phrase "At Ranald's expense" somewhere along the way.

Needless to say, we should tell absolutely fucking nobody about Ranald having children, since, you know, it looks like not even most of his followers know about them. I doubt Mathilde is unique, ( Heidi comes to mind ) but this seems to be a secret that one takes to the grave, preferably a sanctified one.

I wonder how these kids are, in general. If pretty much nobody knows about them, nobody worships them by extension. Are they… mortal? And somewhere in the Empire?

Is Heidi a demigoddess? Are we a demigoddess? Probably not, but Gabriella does play the smug and slightly more successful elder sister role pretty well, despite probably being several hundred years older than us. Because of that, rather.
All aboard the shadowrunning train. Next stop is: who are Mork and Gork's parents, huh???

We should ask Heidi if she knows.

Could the twins be about Mandred's age?
You know, a result of ranald and shallya celebrating after dunking on mork?

Or maybe... Celebrating surviving a fight with ol' khorne flakes?

No. Unless someone comes up with an idea that is entirely orthogonal to this, IE something like the Runelords use for recharging anvil, we aren't touching AV-Divine actions. We can offer AV up to a priest, like the Runelords, to see if they can come up with a God Sactioned use for it, but the days of Mat looking for AV-Divine research are over. We already know what it does normally, and that path was the sacrifice used here.

I realized how that sounded halfway through, but figured it wasn't too likely to be mistaken given the context. And don't worry, the girls are clearly depicted as having some of Shallya'a appearance. They're probably hers.

Oh god. Ranald's a dad, and he got in a fist fight with Khorne for us. We really are a bad influence.

I don't think we should tell Heidi unless Ranald gives us the god ahead. This is such a huge secret that Mathilde has absolutely no idea it even existed until it popped up. Maybe Heidi knows, but I don't want to spill it to her if she doesn't.
