Its most likely why we haven't seen any Norscan raiders in years in quest or how they have seemed to totally abandoned their southern coasts, they are in a holy war against the Old One worshipping Norscans and their Norse Dwarf allies.
All the more important to get Roland up North then. That kind of setup is ripe for a new Everchosen to rise up from.

I really wish we could send some scouting forces north to find out the situation so we can help the Old One worshipping Norscans and the Norse Dwarfs. But with our fleet destroyed we aren't doing that any time soon.

I'm still shocked that the Norscan worshipping old ones held up for so long that it basically made all norscans head in-land that the coast are basically empty for years.

Granted, they also got Dawi support so there's that. Hopefully they can keep that streak up until we finally send more recon to the top there.

For reference second generation Slanm are the most powerful generation of Slann still alive. IIRC while the first generation were created by the Old Ones for the purpose of shifting the planet's orbit, the second generation were the ones tasked with shifting the planet's continents, making it so that second generation Slann can do acts like creating new mountain ranges or massive earthquakes. We're talking about one of the handful of characters in the setting that can credibly claim to be Teclis' better in magic.

As others gave said, they have a second gen Slaan. Those AFAIK are strongest beings in the setting that aren't major gods.

It's also likely the only setup in which Roland will find any sort of support to finally finish his Quest. Tracking North is suicide at the best of times so any friendly outpost or faction fighting beside him would raise his odds immensely.

And who knows? Maybe his arrival will help them too? I don't think the Nothern Dwarfs will go down as they did in canon, but the grind ultimately favors Chaos.

TBH, if anything I'd expect Barak Varr to be the one to push north in the aftermath of this. At this point, the Norscan's absence is in the Blatantly Sus (tm) category, and the Karaz Ankor has presumably noticed that they haven't heard from their northern cousins in a decade or two. Putting those two together isn't that hard, and they're already halfway there.

Hell, given the Druchii being Druchii, I wouldn't be surprised at all if one of the people revolting in that Ark right now is an Old One worshiping Norse, or a Norse Dawi.

As I recall, Charlemagne had been getting 'blessings' from Nurgle as well as Slaanesh shortly before he abandoned the sorceress. Possible indication he could potentially gain the favor of the other two as well.

Morai Wen!!! A favorite character of mine, I hope to see her.

Assuming all these are happening still even if they don't win the vote, Johanna is probably extremely close to us (assuming the fires she sees are Salkalten). Perhaps she might even arrive to help us? But I doubt it, she would have to HOOF it and then correctly guess where we (freddy) is going on the big ark, and not get shot down by anyone who sees a big vampiric monster girl flying.

there is no claim to dispute , Teclis can't move continents else he would have already nuked the dark elves into oblivion , a second gen slann can do exactly that often trivially

OTOH Teclis more impressive feats in lore involve acts like banishing an entire army of daemons or an exalted keeper of secrets with a single spell nor does he have access to the Geomantic web the way the Slann do. As is since I really wanted to avoid having a power level measuring contest about that while still getting the point across on how big a deal second generation Slann are I settled on saying that's it's credible to say that Ulha'up is a better spell caster then Teclis.

Highly doubt Johanna is near Salkaten. #1 is proof positive that one doesn't have to be in Salkaten for there to be violence and cannons firing somewhere in Ostland

She doesn't have to be, its true. But it does make a fair amount of sense in character for her to want to go to Ostland since Freddy and Co are some of the few people she has reason to believe will actually be a friendly face in the Empire. She's not likely in the mountains as her narration includes mostly forest, and while there are plenty of places in the Empire with forest, there's not nearly so many that are nearby someone she'd have a reason to travel near.
