Guess this means we get a peek at the chaos in Kislev right now since seems like things have really gone nuts... I just hope Alexandra is okay and whatever happens Kislev can recover, they've recovered from literal daemon invasions before after all.

How big a theological shitshow would the Cult of Khaine undergo if a human or Dawi picked up the Sword of Khaine?
I feel like I should let you know that in my current Immortal Empires Campaign (Thorgrim), Tretch Craventail has the Sword of Khaine.

I'm pretty sure Durthu stole it from the Druchii and then zoomed back to the Old World through the Worldroots and then somehow Tretch shanked the angry tree for the sword. Now I'm just cackling because I checked his traits and he's defeated Settra, Grimgor and Skarbrand in battle and appears to be just careening around the Badlands and Southlands like a one-rat doomslayer.

Ok, um, what does that have to do with this quest?

Well, besides the obvious look into what the hell is going on in Kislev, perhaps we'll get an answer as to whether they were able to spare any ships to help against the Druuchi.
I'm also curious as to how many sides/dimensions there are in the Civil War, as well. Kislev (the city) but likely also the country is literally on fire and likely fragmenting into different faction and the Skaven are definitely involved somehow behind the scenes to some extent - should give us some idea of how destructive it's going to be. Alexandra's the Regent and Chief of Secret Police so she probably has better intel than pretty much anyone else in the country at her fingertips.

I suspect Freddy's eldest daughter is now the Tzarina by sheer dint of competence , like Katarina was at this point due to her traits effectively a mid maxing CK2/3 player in terms of sheer cold blooded ruthlessness , looked at the stats of her various children and heirs found them disappointing in comparison to Alexandra's awesome stats and decided that she will be heir one way or the other

I would have voted to peek behind the veil at Kislev as well, but wow. Would have loved to see the dynamic among parties in Nordland. A great stag of Laurelorn, Eonir coming to imperial aid en masse, would have been a hell of a sight to see.

In an effort to keep the muse moving and my writing muscles going, an offer is here as a New Year's Gift(?) of sorts. Haven't done something like this in ages, in this thread at least. Pick one, yeah? Just one, no approval voting.

She did not stop slamming her Ledstali boot down until she was contacting primarily floor instead of skull and brains. Only then did she look up, eyes blue bonfires of magic that narrowed at the terrified captives before her. The easy, slick smile was gone. The stately effort at defiant stoicism had been badly fractured. The Regent did not speak as she turned away and stalked up the large ice steps to the frozen throne, almost throwing herself into it, ending up lounging in it at what could have been considered a jaunty angle. She grabbed a glass bottle next to the thrown, tore off the cap, and downed easily half of the kvas within before putting it back down.

The bottle, just as every footstep, as much of the throne, was left bloodied.

"Let's try again," she said calmly, glancing past them out the windows at the many plumes of smoke rising out of the city.

The Great Stag's unearthly bellow echoed out across the field again. Stephan chanced it, ducking back behind the spear line, and glanced to the west. There, outright standing atop it on her own two feet, was the Lady Dawnstone. He could not read her features from here, especially with her helmet, but he didn't need to. He saw enough as she hurled javelins with remarkable strength, each one puncturing right through the rushing Druchii, shields and all. She shouted something and pointed at a rolling altar of brass and black steel upon which sat a bubbling cauldron of blood and a trio of Death Hags. Uncaring of its wounds, or perhaps simply unbothered by them, the stag began to charge, ducking its head and skewering a half dozen more Druchii upon its horns as it went.

The Bruiser stared down, confused, at his suddenly missing hand. He squinted down at the stump, and tongued at his broken teeth in thought. Around him, the rest of the boys stared as well, a great many piggish eyes widened or narrower depending on which ogre you were looking at. Finally, as more blood splashed onto the ground, he blinked.

"Somethin'...is missing dere," he declared confidently.

Those were his last words as a pair of scythes decapitated him in perfect synchronicity. From within the broken wagon emerged two pale skinnies covered in way too much rug, eyes blazing purple like one of the Butchers of the tribe. The caravan's defenders were doing their best, but the tribe had been watching them hungrily for a week. In all that time, they had never seen the inhabitants of this wagon emerge. Until now, that was.

"Big-"
"-mistake."
Neato, I'm okay with the winning choice.

So Alex is the new ruler of Kislev? Well that is surprising.
Yes and no. Alexandra is in charge of Kislev right now because Kattarin is for one reason or another not currently on the throne of Kislev. As Kattarin's Royal Aide of the Tzarina she'll be busy until Kattarin's heir, Mattrin, takes charge. Then again Civil War, we don`t know what the situation specifically is beyond "Alexandra likely duped some Kislev Royal Guard to deliver ledstali armor to Ostland, and Alexandra is in Kattarin's role"

Much like how [3] gives out some fun information in regards to the twins. The twins are on a caravan, but the land route between the empire and the Far East has fallen to disuse in the last decade (the greenskins are active, Cathay was occupied by Nippon), the ogres exist in the mountains of mourne. Draken was not revealed in the snip, perhaps Alisa and Agatha are Journeymen in rank now. The nationality of the people who made up the caravan was not revealed, if they are a Cathayan caravan travelling through the ogre controlled mountains, a few exotic protections like monks or statue guardians would be expected, or Ind Mercenaries. If they are pure Cathayan merchants, that's insane. Oh, and Alisa and Agatha leaving Cathay to the empire, if that is what they are doing, might mean they gave up continuing to study the arts of the Order of the Chained Ghost, or they reached enough mastery they could quit in a year or two.

[2] could have been fun. A Stephan interlude where we can see Eonir not be on the sidelines, Stephan leading his province. Stephan's thoughts alone would be a treat to see how he views everything. Stephan finally has his big battle he can fight in that he always got benched on. Protecting the people of Nordland from the druchii is a fight that matters, even if the druchii forces sent to Nordland will on paper feel like nothing compared to two Black Arks on Salkalten. The forces the druchii sent to Nordland would be informative as well, were the druchii spread out or did they stick to one location in Nordland? Ostland got the Black Arks, Nordland probably got the druchii fleets. Stephan might be in a better situation to unleash his fleet on the druchii than we are. I am concerned about Stephan's lack of grey wizards, and curious what imperial wizards he may have in his army and navy.

sad but true. Nevermind, even if you had voted, it still wouldn't have mattered, what with the 50+ votes for 1.

It would've made me comfortable that I at least contributed.

Still, I suppose at least we can see what had changed since then. Maybe the civil war finally kicked off after a 3rd party decides to set fire to the building powder keg.

That, or someone had too much of a drink.

Let's just hope that Alexandra didn't accidentally pull a Freddy on the ruling line of Kislev. You know... everyone but the last, most revoked claimant dying of foeone reason or another?

Don't want to explain that taking over Kislev was neither intended nor planned...

You know... If that DID happen Alexandra wouldn't be the next in line for the Throne. Our WIFE would, and wouldn't THAT be a complex international clusterfuck. Would Kislev become a new Elector Seat? Would we be both Elector and consort to the Queen of Kislev?

All I know is it would make everything much more complicated.

I'm pretty sure Nat gave up her claim when she married Freddy. It would probably go to the second or third in line instead. (Considering the heir is a traitor)
