Well I am thinking some kind of fixed artillery emplacement which would allow for something a bit bigger than the titan cannons. The main reason I would want something like that is because I would like for as much heavy long ranged firepower that is able to completely out range our enemies to the point that the enemy loses their biggest stuff before they even get in range of our other guns.

that is acutly a good idea since I dont think we actuly have any weapon on hand that can reliably deal with a blackark

No, that is indeed a cannon from the Storm of Chaos Ulric-based booklet. Hang on, I've got that old thing around somewhere, lemme go look.

EDIT: Found it! Here we go:

And here's the original art, scoured from a few seconds of googling so quality not assured.

didn't some one manage to become friend with a giant some years before

i was just re-reading this for like the 11th time or something and remember that the Rumor section have something about some guy manage to get a wandering giant on his side

i don't think we have Titan cannon research yet and Hell-hammer Cannon aren't a thing either, so i doubt that thing is do-able right now for the Empire

You are thinking of count Fuerbacks son Aloys. He somehow convinced a gaint to work for Talabecklamd, presumably with lots of thunderwater.

maybe useful, its too big more than titan cannon

If Alexandra was going to marry anyone I'd much prefer it be to one of those priests that was trying to woo her not one of her cousins, that shit is just pure ick!

Hey @torroar , I have an idea right now we have a massive heavily armed and well trained militia that is completely loyal to Freddy hero of Ostland and slayer of the everliving but my point is what will keep them loyal when Magnus inherits leadership of the province while the militia sergeants are a good measure I don't think it's enough without there massive loyalty Freddy , so my idea is to build on the militia sergeants by founding the Ostland reserve army
The Ostland reserve army would have the responsibility of overseeing the large heavily armed well trained militia and making sure they don't become the well trained heavily armed rebels or worse cultists , the army would also coordinate with the clergy to keep out the influence of proscribed deities .
The army of the reserve would recruit directly from the most experienced and fit of the militia making sure that new troops are already blooded and transfer these newly recruited state troopers to the other armies of Ostland when ever they are needed to recover from losses or be expanded

We basically have one of these scaled to Ogres instead of Giants. So still huge, but smaller. I'm not sure we even could field this thing without a giant to handle it.

Bear it in mind for if we're ever lucky enough to get our own friendly giant, but for now we'd be better served focusing on the ironblaster.

Honestly, think that several Titan Cannons are worth more than just a few giant-sized cannons. The only friendly giant in Empire at this time that we know of works for Talabecland and we are not on best terms with them.

Titan Cannons, like their Ironblaster inspiration, can still be hauled around by enough horses or ogres themselves while also being loaded and used by said ogres (though engineers likely on hand to maintain it and artillery men to aim the thing).

I imagine a full broadside of Titan Cannons can totally wipe out an advancing attack and what is behind it.

Also we can mount many of them on larger parts of walls for Wolfenburg to make city even harder nut to crack.

Arming The People: Your people like guns, but they don't have that much access to it. Well…that should be rectified shouldn't it? The militia is meant to only have a simple spear and set of armor, but they can do better than that, can't they? You have access to guns, and you think the people should too. Especially considering the Forest of Shadows. By providing a tad more incentive for people to join up with the Militias of the province, perhaps with a bit more pay, convince people that by purchasing and maintaining a nice gun or two that they should join up. By doing this your people will be better defended, will feel happier about themselves, and it should get people off from using those damn explosive blunderbusses, which honestly in comparison to what you have now are far more trouble than they are worth. Cost: -50 Militia Upkeep per turn. Gain new militia units: Minutemen, the militia equivalent of handgunners. Raise militia morale. Raise peasant opinion. Province better defended in general. Chance of Success: 80%
Aside from being the legitimate elector count, militia wages might've been a factor for their loyalty.

There are probably also other popular measures, like the yearly Hohenzollern donations to the Shallyans providing Healthcare to the province. And less popular measures, like the Witch Hunters purging cultists from the militia(and anywhere else they find signs of unsanctioned worship).

Militia service is a defensive duty in cases where the home village gets attacked or there is a national crisis though. Trying to get them bloodied sounds like stacking an obligation to venture out into the woods and deliberately seek trouble on top of their normal obligation to defend their home town. Which is the sort of thing that can make said armed, trained and blooded militia rather unhappy with the current regime.

the militia would already be blooded as beastmen raids ,greenskin attacks and bandits are semi regular event there is a reason no village in the empire stays a village unless it at least has a palisade , no need to send them looking for trouble it already comes to them

Why's Middenheim got a big cannon? Don't Ulricans dislike guns?
3. Fantasy Gun Control: Ulric is currently interpreted to frown on guns. While the defensive batteries on Middenheim remain, because they are hard as shit to remove, you will otherwise be unable to deploy handgunners, engineers or cannon unless you hire expensive mercenaries.
I think the front page gives an in-universe answer to both those questions.

Current interpretation means it might not have always been the interpretation. And might not remain the interpretation.

not good, ostland has lot forestes and we have steam tank. Remember , tree is first enemy୧( ⁼̴̶̤̀ω⁼̴̶̤́ )૭
Yeah it has lots of forests, but we do most of our fighting in the bits where it's not forests, which is why our pikes and horses and doomspheres are good. Plus we can sell them.

We should make war wagons.

Torroar already said this some time ago, War Wagon tech is obsolete so it was retire, there some modify version of it still being use but it technically dead unless he change his mind and have people in universe take it out of retirement

What replaced it? I can't think of anything in our roster that combines the war wagon's speed with the firepower of guns.

War Wagons got replaced by Pistoliers. The only way we could bring them back is if we invent Morters or the Hellblaster Volley Guns and proceed to mount them on said War Wagons. Could maybe do the same with Great Cannons?

Not that it matters as we never had war wagons to begin with and have yet to have an option to add Pistoliers or even Horse Archers to our armies. That might change since we have invested some actions into horse breeding.

TBF most of our land is utter shite for Cavalry of all types and War Wagons given most of it is forest and what isn't is either mountains or ruff ground, with a small area in which we're breeding horses. I mean Skirmish Cavalry might not be a complete waste of an investment but I doubt we'll ever field anything heavier than Light Cavalry, baring what ever Heavy/Shock Cavalry we get from the Knightly Orders based in our province.

Edit: Maybe Monstrous Cavalry might be a good idea since they offset the terrain debuffs by being killing machines or Flying Cavalry since they quite understandably mostly ignore terrain. Both are rather expensive to recruit and maintain though.

If we do come up with giant cannon emplacement on some of our more fortified places then it would give us a good reason to research locomotives since even if we can't use those for long range travel it would make it a hell lot easier to load and reload such giant cannon with a city wide trolley system able to more easily transport giant heavy ammunition across the towns they are set up in.
