Maybe it's because it's been awhile since we've had a rumor mill, but has the Kislev section always been so........ divided? Pretty sure it was a bit more unified before but the civil war is becoming more and more inevitable at this point.
As far as I can remember, people have been pissed about the reforms there.

So who else wants to higher some more naval mercenaries? Also I would like to see any force try to assault Ostland navel port. So they will invade Nordland instead and try to come at us over land.

This might be unnecessary paranoia, but considering how the rest of her family fared I'm worried that the Vega daughter's artistic talent is either the result of or a temptation towards Slanesshi corruption.

I was thinking something similar. Who is to say this daughter isn't a plant like Logan was prior to being cleansed by Ulric?

Other things of note:
The Grand Throng is weakening, but Thorgrim managed to have them build a massive number of war machines prior to a good chunk of them heading home.

As others have noted, Kislev is just about to explode. It also looks like the Gryphon Legion's days are numbered. I could see the members seeking each other out on the battlefield and destroying each other.

Magnus is doing his part in handling nascent threats to the Empire. Trying to buy the Empire more time to rebuild and develop before the next crisis hits and drains the manpower of the nation again.

Looks like Roland is not in Brettonia right now, or at least, not at the tourney since no nobles of Mousillon were in attendance.

Anyway, it appears that we will have a Centigor themed Beastmen invasion in the next year or so. Consider it practice for the Orc WAAAGH that continues to build in the south.

....Oh yeah, Tomb King raids were pretty gnarly. They smothered the potential Crusade in the crib, massacred the shit out of Sartosa and generally bled the Tilean and Estailan coastlines. That is something the Druuchi may take advantage of...

Roland attending the tournament is likely due to how the Brettonian rumor specified with bias no one from mousollion could have attended even if they were from mousollion, which they can't be. Rumors in the rumor mill can lie, ex: An early rumour about Kattarin at odds with her family, complete coverup.

Edit: Maybe Roland got the grail already or was passing by? How would we know?

Could have sworn he was being pulled back there after Karak Ungor. Figured it had to do with taking care of Gazgan, but maybe he was being aimed further south.
I mean, the Enchantress literally said he couldn't return until he'd found the Grail. He's not exactly going to break that. I don't remember if he ever said what direction he was heading, though he was having the dreams again. I think @torroar said he was having a bad time of it a while back.

Hey @torroar

The new Warhammer Total War trailers have reminded me that Luthor Harkon is a thing. Anything different in this alternate history concerning him or is he still being a pirate in and around and sometimes above and below Lustria? His shattered psyche means he really doesn't get around, but I'm just curious is all.

Sudenberg's fleet stolen.

By Beastmen.

From the land of Centigors.

...really thinking bearing down on naval defenses next year might be a good idea.
Between fortifying the minor ports or expanding the docks behind said seawall so we can have a larger fleet that can contest attacks on said minor ports, I'd choose the latter.

And regardless of which way we go, we should spam Wolfships to pick up the slack for Nordland losing so many ships. We might even just want to spam Wolf Ships x2 next turn and go slightly over capacity(deal with the fortification and/or capacity issues on turn 31).
Because even if we didn't care about Stephan as a friend or trident member, Nordland getting wrecked might have a ripple effect on trade and would probably leave us with one less army to assist during the next crisis.

Besides, we should probably try to contribute more than Low+ Naval Power in the first place rather than continually forting up our shoreline while the fleet remains small. Especially with our having an advantage in ship construction speed.
And isn't the Arcane Fulcrum in Northwest Ostland? Nordland might be a more viable vector for the Druchii to get to it.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around how the centaur analogs even know how to sail in the first place.
Given that there are fewer bodies than there were supposed to be people living in Sudenburg, there are probably a lot of Enslaved and/or mutated Sudenburgers sailing those ships.

Chaos fleet, might not even be Beastmen.

So who else wants to higher some more naval mercenaries? Also I would like to see any force try to assault Ostland navel port. So they will invade Nordland instead and try to come at us over land.
We have the quality>quantity naval mercs already and we can spam ships fairly quickly.
Also, Mercenaries are expensive so unless it's a temporary measure while we simultaneously expand Salkalten's dock capacity and fortify the minor ports of Ostland in preparation for a later massed expansion, I'd rather not(especially since I doubt we'll get around to disbanding said Mercenaries).

I'd rather spend the Martial actions on fortifying the Middle Mountains, our Sewers, hardening our Militia or getting some last-ditch upgrades to our armies.

20, actually. 10 from the new defenses on our main port, another 10 from the other fortifications we built throughout the coast.
Beyond Salkalten expanded the docks in the minor ports, it did not fortify the ports further.

It's just that the other locations are going to be better protected as a result of having more warships in port on average.

Well... shit. This is all gonna be happening at once isn't it. We've got to keep fortifying the coast as much as we can in preparation of the centigor invasion while at the same time preparing for the "The Battle of Blackfire Pass 2: Electric Bugaloo" all while worrying about our daughter getting hurt because the ice queen doesn't understand the concept of public relations. @torroar you are the best kind of GM. Everything is on fire and I am PUMPED

So we can now add Razorbeaks as unique mounts in Empire!:p

So as a full list you got Razorbeaks, Winter Wolves, and Demigryphs used likely most often by Reiksguard. Not sure is Order of Black Bear rides them like Kislevites who follow Ursun and ride super polar bears.
Bretonnia Holds Celebratory Tourney
Nice to see other order faction on recovery for all their faults.
Sudenberg Slaughtered In Summer
Bad enough that the Empire's southernmost outpost is destroyed but more so if beastmen truly stole ships, glad we upgraded main port again and some more wouldn't be out of question.

Of course if beastmen get into coast riding that is another thing all order aligned coasts will need to watch for.
It's good Magnus is finding the time to relax via destruction of the forces of evil with liberal amounts of hammer to skulls.

So much less taxing than ruling Empire.
The Wandering Longshanks
Once more Talabecland's heirs being surprisingly progressive in their own way by uniting and expanding various established things, also recruiting that giant has already payed off so far.
The Vultures Of Zandri
Well now, that pretty nearly killed any renewed crusade ideas.

While I know logically Tomb Kings are good guys it doesn't mean they aren't assholes to folks besides them. Gonna have to be worried about possibly being raided by them at some point.
Happy to know family is happy and has such a talented daughter, sure the other Vega siblings fell to chaos but given what was happening it was hard not to. Lets not assume Carmen is some hidden evil just yet.
Have to give it to Stirland, they are really working towards their lands not becoming totally awful again in a variety of ways.
Sea of Claws Report – 2333
Sucks that order side got damaged overall but happy Ostland did well despite having the least best odds on coastal defense.

Also glad that Stephan's home wasn't hit, I wonder if we can't spend an action next turn to assist him in repairing damage done at all. With so much of Nordland's population being the coasts now every hit against it is terrible.
Fissures In The Legion
That's not good, feel like Kat should leave Gryphon Legion mostly alone since it has been working out quite well as it has been already and last thing she wants is to push accomplished soldiers over to her rival's side.
The Tzarina's Anchorages
This is a good move on Kat's part, limit points of failure.

We did something similar last turn and wonder if we can't fort them up to not only hold more ships but be better defended against raids in general.

In Ostland we might not have best sailors but we make up for it in ridiculously built up ports like dawi.
Kat has really been successful getting major gods of Kislev to chose her family members as their champions, also great thing have support of local healing goddess in general since they don't have more access to Jade Wizards like us.
Is it wrong that I want the Black Orc Waagh to hit already? Once they do hopefully get defeated and routed Great Throng can finally move again to reclaim dawi locations while area is in chaos.

However if it is forced to continue to break up said southern campaign will become less effective.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but attack already Black Orcs!
At least northern holds seem to be doing good and Karak Ungor growing rapidly to fill in as much of their hugely empty halls as possible.
Worrisome Migrations From South
Oh great, another Waagh forming on another front. Really hope those two holds can handle a bunch of Savage Orcs well enough since it would suck to lose Karak Azgal again and worse to lose both of them.

Overall lots of stuff happening all over and seems more fires than firefighters around.

We just completed upgrading the ship capacity by ten.
No. We are not taking more mercs.

Solve our issues rotting pestelince fleabag inferior to black plague, penicillin, and oranges!!

Money: This is an issue we still have for around 5 more turns. We are likely to never get goats due to goats not paying for itself fast enough.

Time: To choose mercs takes real life time, days. If we do this we need a better reason than, but 'I'm scared'.

My favorite merc: Someone will want an extra merc we will not know we can afford, or drag in releasing a merc group.

Ship space:
Current Ostland Maximum Ship Capacity: 70
Number Of Ships In Service: 53

Naval mercs available, maybe...
Saltspear's Reavers [Race: Human/Dwarf/Elf/Ogre] [Origin: Sartosa] [Description: Lovers of battle and plunder, this particular brand of pirates is lead by a man known as Saltspear. Normally based out of Sartosa, they are gleeful privateers for whoever wishes to purchase their services with a surprising amount of loyalty to their employers...so long as the pay is good.] [Numbers: 5 Heavily Customized War Galleons And Crew]
They are untrustworthy.
  • Mott's Motleys [Race: Human] [Origin: Luccini] [Description: A company often contracted out for protecting merchant ships as they make their way from Luccini with startlingly ramshackle appearances. However, their effectiveness cannot be denied. The seemingly slapdash armor plating and somewhat random sticking of cannons to point wherever they wish have made for a very successful naval guard company.] [Numbers: 30 Mott's Motleys Metal-Clad Runners]
  • The Golden Scimitars [Race: Human] [Origin: Araby] [Description: A squadron of ships out of Araby, each possessing a powerful and terrifying arabian sorcerer as their main source of firepower. Each ship further possesses a catapult upon it, where jars containing mysterious bound elemental creatures are said to be kept within to be launched at the enemy where they will release their prisoner to wreak havoc around them. They have been raiders, slave traders, wreckers, escorts, and more for the right coin. It is said the ships themselves are gilded by the gold from the immense wealth they have amassed over their many years of operation.] [Numbers: 4 Golden Scimitar War Barques]
The golden scimitars are a no for being slavers and mott's motley's are too many for us to house.

Jesus Kattarin you're a pain in the ass

Glad Magnus is putting out threats now as I think he sees we're gonna be marching south to fulfill our treaty obligations to the dawi in the next few years

Eh, pretty sure that was a manufactured miracle. Remember that Kattarin is very much building a new faith out of chicken scratch and wire and is more than willing to "help" things along when she can.

For naval I support building more ships of our own using the stipend. Income will be tight but fortunately we have some actions locked so that is fewer actions that need to be paid for. Also we have a diplo action finishing this coming turn for some income and we have another diplo action that can generate some income (but is 2 turns) along with 3 stewardship actions on income generation will see us better off.

Edit- also looked at our finances and we only have two payments left on the soup tank at which point 3,500 in expenses falls off.

Not to mention how that rumor was all "Katarina would never spend the money to fake this, *wink wink* *nudge nudge*".

No rumours about a manned kite flying over an army as it marched north across the Empire.
Gossip-mungers, I am disappoint.

We really need to start projecting our naval power instead of just turtling. We should get to work on a carrier to help facilitate this.

Nice to hear that giant is making himself useful.

It's the Warhammer-verse, there is always at least one Waagh forming nearby.

And if a Waagh isn't forming, that's because one has already hit critical mass and is currently attacking you/your allies.
