Assuming we're taking about low-tech worlds, it's definitely horrible, but does that really gain the Biophage much? It can't turn biomass into a new space-ship directly. It needs to infect a shipyard first, and if it's a low tech or unoccupied there's nothing there it can use.
There are multiple warp-capable civilizations we haven't met yet out there. If the Biophage finds one before we do....

It can survive. The Fedaration propably wont glass every low-tech planet near the neutral zone just to be careful.
If the Phage is beaten it can wait on those planets and sooner or later a ship will get careless and the dance starts again.

I hope all of this comes to an appropriately "Star Trek" resolution. I didn't realize the Biophage thing was going to swallow up so much of the game.

Other than the combined warfleets of the UFP, RSE and KE, yes, nothing.

Assuming that Miracht and the Heavy Warbird haven't already made like trees and GTFOd, in which case we're fucked :(

Yea, if the beast is sensible it could quite easily slip our sensor nets and just head to any random warp capable civ and devour them. Thanks to the cloaked vessels it would be pretty trivial.

It depends on how much data it actually gets from eating a ship or planet. If it doesn't have the navdata for Delicious Non-Superpower Warp-Capable Civ Worlds (hello Amarki...) it can hardly get there.

[X]Plan Nix

Once again, this is pretty much what I would have wanted anyway, so no need to reinvent the wheel. All aboard.

I gave you two Andorian options and only one Human option! And the Human option gives bonuses to something you guys didn't even *use* last time! D:<

I'm in a thread full of Terra First types!

In my defense, I went to sleep just as the update went up, and by the time I woke up the vote was over, so I couldn't make my case for Andorians :V

Even the very name is specist!

#Azetburwasright

Azetbur was being snippy at best, hypocritical at worst. Sure, Starfleet may have an overrepresentation of humans, but it's not like they can stop themselves from being talented! Plus, Federation at least tries, unlike the speciest, oppressive Klingon Empire.

#Cartwrightwasright, #BetterDeadThanKlingon

The solution is, clearly, the create Federation-Romulan alliance.

"I pick my officers based on skillsets and talent, not based on species. It's a meritocracy here."

To be fair, we did appoint a Vulcan male to be in command of the Biophage response fleet.

By the way, I liked the little touches of personalization with the Federation Council. Councillor Stesk will no doubt be a thorn in our sides in future, less clear-cut, crises.... but he'll keep us honest.

Fingers crossed that my "recruit some Betazoid empaths" idea will work out. It seems to be included in most plans so far, and I'm hopeful they'll be able to help keep the Biophage from suckering us again. Also an excellent example of strength through diversity!

I vote we introduce double-blind hiring practices in order to head off both conscious and unconscious biases!

Going for the General Research, (really I'm just copy-pasting Briefvoice

Reality check people: is a betazoid empath really more important than keeping clear lines of communication with the Romulans?

I'll admit that I might be biased by my long term desire to diplo-annex them (and everyone else), but – as mentioned before – this crisis wouldn't be half as bad if the Romulans thought they could talk to us.

Both are one action items, so the plan is only which one to be done first.

I'm not sure how much it's been discussed, but t b h those Betazoid empaths are better suited to hunting the Beast, possible mental trauma be damned. I have a big suspicion that the Romulans will not react well to having their heads probed, to say nothing of possible retaliatory Reman shenanigans. In trying to glean more about the Romulans via empathy reads we may well provoke them.

That smiley says "haha everything's fine" but I sense sarcasm.

This is why I have trust issues
IDK this is trust-affirming if anything else, insofar as now you know you can't trust Oneiros at all about it, doing away with the latent paranoia of what-if and maybe. (If you trust nobody and nothing, they can't betray you.)
