He clearly didn't follow Kirk's advice about not letting them promote him! He's no doubt sporting one of these now...

...and answering to Commodore Harriman :V
Plz make a recurring antagonist, burned by the establishment for losing one of their beloved Captains.

Oh, the time he and Bueller stole a corvette back in the academy days, they all forget that! But one retired Captain rushes fool-hardy into danger and suddenly it's all your fault. He went out a hero, damn it! A successful 7-year run overshadowed by 20 minutes into it's shakedown cruise!

"Oh hey, you're Harriman right? You're the guy who--" Captained the fucking Enterprise? Mapped the C-5 Nebula? Averted war no less than three times, including with the Cardassians? Made contact with a dozen new species?

But he can see the real answer, quivering on their lips as they realize they can't say it -- "You're the guy who killed Kirk." He thought a promotion to Commodore would bring him prestiege -- but he still remembers the pitying look on [PLAYERNAME's] face as they assigned him to a desk job deep in the bureaucracy. But he'll show PLAYERNAME. He'll show them all.

A cowgirl captain for the Enterprise, a military captain for the Courageous and a boring captain for the Sarek (we need that political will to counteract Nash).

And I love the idea of a female Andorian Kirk.

Having the patient, insightful Vulcan that's great at First Contacts on the Enterprise makes the most sense to me. And Eaton for the mapping rerolls and Xursh for the resource rerolls.

Political Will : Use this in order to get things out of the UFP, including new shipyards, expansions to shipyards, new ship design programs, increasing resources, expanding the Explorer Corps base, appointing new explorer-capable Captains, creating new fleets, raising threat level, reducing militarisation level, some R&D programs.
Political Will is pretty important. I'd rather not pick Captain Nash ka'Sharren. The decrease in Political Will she gives just doesn't seem like she's worth it.

How can I not put the brash cowboy on the Enterprise? There's a tradition to be maintained.

Clearly our first policy is to change the Starfleet Uniform!

Admiral: Skintight bodysuits for everybody!

Starfleet: Yay!

Admiral: Mandatory PT exercises as well!

Starfleet: Boo!

By the way, everyone knows the history of the Enterprise name but voters might find it interesting to see the (unofficial, Memory Alpha) Star Trek history behind the other two names.

USS Courageous - Notable service history: made first contact with Bajor. Was attacked by a ship from the Mirror Universe.

USS Sarek - Notable service history: Nothing up through our era. Per Memory Alpha, it fought in the Dominion War in the DS9 era.

Of course it would be rank superstition to think that the missions we see these ships on will have anything to do with those past or future non-canonical events. But still, it's interesting. And let's face it, every navy has a little superstition in it. Does anyone really expect that the Enterprise will have anything less than the most exciting service history in the fleet? It's why there are so many votes in favor of a captain who who can handle anything, as much aggravation as she may cause.

Look up the USS Hood, that ship has good odds on being the Wolf 359 survivor as well as being generally bad ass.

Probably my second pick for "Best Starfleet Ship" after the various Enterprises. (And good odds that she outlasted /3/ Enterprises!)
