so after they join us we go down 0,05 crew alone all lines? how does that make sense?
 
Utopia Planitia has 3 1 MT Berths so we can Duel build them there if I read the list right.
 
So here are three options. Edit: Slight warning on Beware of Option B... it looks like it's trading away a Renaissance for an Excelsior-A, but it could mean also means delaying builds in 2319. Though as @Nix points out, a double member accession could easily make up for it, and we might end just straight up getting more time on a better ship. I hope this gives more options for people to choose from!

UP has 5 1mt berths, but is currently building Renaissances in 4 of them and has a scheduled refit (that was included in the deployment vote and would be a real headache to change) in the last.

You seem to be seriously misunderstanding the situation? We have 5 dedicated auxiliary berths at the Lasileth shipyards, two of those berths free this year. The other three wil be free next year. And the year after 5 berths at the next aux shipyard at Ferasa come online. Those will almost certainly be building hospital ships in at least some of the mentioned berths. But we don't control them. The vote now is for builds at our regular shipyards, and we don't have a lot of berths to spare there at all. Possibly one or at most two. Anything more than that would sacrifice regular builds. Maybe you think building hospital ships is more important than Renaissances, but as mentioned the aux shipyards can also build them, and there is a pretty good chance the members will let us build some at their shipyards as well, so it's probably not actually necessary to sacrifice regular shipbuilding.

Guys... Medical will be building Hospital ships in the Auxiliary shipyard I'm sure. This is just ships ON TOP of that.

At least buy some berths in this year's Snakepit and then build the hospital ships next year.
 
@Briefvoice in option c would the hospital ship finish in enough time for that berth to be ready for the first ambassador wave

I was working on a plan that was essentially identical to Option C anyway. If we didn't have a big aux shipyard coming online I'd build a freighter instead of a Rennie, but it seems redundant now.

Now that we are winding up the Kepler project we have no need for additional Constellation-As. I would say build no more. They don't deploy by the time we have the Kepler available anyway.

Worth noting to the audience that this is because we can't afford another Excelsior-A due to crew.

It is getting close to the time that we should stop building Constellation-As now. That class is pretty old and getting to be obsolete.

Oneiros, would you mind reminding me of whether the first officer on a starbase is de facto commander (a la Sisko on Deep Space Nine), or whether they're simply an executive officer?

Vulcans are long-lived and won't hesitate to play careerist; I can easily see him floating around in the bureaucratic background for twenty or thirty years, waiting his chance while still playing a significant power-broker role within Starfleet.

She might, if her personal beliefs exist for the sole purpose of being an obnoxious moron who kicks puppies for fun. If she's a quasi-realistic person, she almost certainly thinks the new hospital ships are important and desirable, although she might say something like "build two at once, instead of three."

Crew, but the crew shortage that would be causing those delays is less than the anticipated losses over that time frame (meaning we'd be fine if we just happened to only lose techs), and also looks like that might be fixed with a double accession this year. If that improves officer/enlisted income by 1.1 rather than the projected 0.3 that would also fix the crew issues enough to avoid the mentioned delays. And the Excelsior could be instead of the one scheduled in SF-A next year, where it could be replaced by a Renaissance, meaning both builds could benefit from parallel build (no need to decide that this year already though). So it looks like there is a pretty good chance of option B ending up not having any downsides after all, just straight up trading 1 year of Renaissance availability for 2 years of Excelsior availability and potentially manking SF available for Ambassador builds much earlier.

180pp for a double ascension just to smooth build issues isn't worth nearly that. You're proposing to buy an Excelsior-A with 180pp.

Neither does the strategic view argue in favor of it, as we'd be better off trying to push the Seyek forward for the same price.

Adding Caldonia does not change our deployment since they would be part of the KBZ and we have the forces deployed there to cover them already. As it is I would want a double species joining as we have a lot in the pipeline, 4 right now with Yan-Ros And the Honiani both very close.
