I don't think I'd want to meet one of those in a dark nebula. A 'Liberator' class battleship, slightly smaller than an Excelsior, and I daresay slightly more advanced. It will be a tough opponent. Thankfully, our understanding is that they have fewer of these capitals than the Federation as a whole has Excelsiors. However, I heard from Honiani officers that the HPDV Liberator of Telqua is one of four of these ships in just the fleet covering their rimward border. Which wouldn't be so concerning if they weren't, doctrinally speaking, just the helpful backup to their fleet tenders.
Yeouch, looks like the equivalent of an Excelsior-A pushed into a less than 2mt hull.
Of course, aren't our ship design people saying they could mange the same thing with a 'modern' light explorer?
Personal Log, Captain Larai Leaniss, Stardate 26574.2
Nash has been adamant - do whatever I need, anything at all, but make sure that I get on the bridge of one of the Ambassadors. It is an appealing thought...
I think she still seethes at Old Man Seruk for promoting her.
Come on Leaniss, don't let ka'Sharren get to you like that. You aren't her.
So this was the final set of Captain's Logs for the year. It also marks the end of Sulu's second year in command of Starfleet. In 2 to 4 years it'll be time for some fresh blood... I better get my Vice Admiral omakes boiling again.
I have a feeling that Orwellian names are going to be a thing for the Harmony.
Anyway, we can't say for certain until we see its full statline, but the Liberator seems to be an Excelsior-A equivalent ship. The main reason that this is bad is because it means Horizon has a lot of doctrinal flexibility; they have their fleet tender + swarmers task groups, and they also have powerful Lone Ranger style capships. There's no rock-paper-scissoring them to death with a doctrinal blind spot; they're like us with our member fleets.
Lets hope that our conflict with them remains a war of propaganda and diplomacy for the foreseeable future.
Don't really like the idea of Horizon poking around Honiani, could stir up trouble.
I feel we should diplopush Honiani, Yan-Ros and Ittick-ka next time since they did easily enter Rigel space.
I think Laio should be fine due to Tauni blocking the way which makes me wonder if they using the space around Yan-Ros to scout Fed space.
I regret to report that Konen frigates slipped through our defences and destroyed a Caitian Cargo Ship. Our underway intelligence is suggesting that, contrary to earlier xenopsych profiles, the Cardassians have allowed the Konen Task Force commander to take control of forces in the GBZ. The new commander's approach is aggressive without forcing a major confrontation. Individual raiders are skirmishing and dispersing. We have minor damage to a number of our frontline ships, but nothing requiring major dock time and casualties have been minimal.
However, this is starting to press our forces thin. I am weighing up my options currently, but with my time in this role coming to an end, I am loathe to commit my successor to a course of action not of their own choosing. The Konen reinforcements, and additional Cardassian outpost construction, makes me loathe to order another assault. It may be more prudent to direct Starfleet Engineering and member forces to divert production to defensive works. Alternatively, reinforcements will be required.
Sincerely,
Rear Admiral T'Lorel

Sector Details
Roughly encompasses area from 4h to 1e, with outcroppings, with space above and below this plane
~15 Squares worth, each of which contains a few dozen stars, of which a quarter will have planets and other items of interest
Each power is accessing the sector from a different direction. Your staff will be attempting to surge out, claim, then retain space. Keeping a safe route for logistics for stations and nascent colonies will be important.
To start with, your commanders will have Starfleet assets and Starfleet auxiliaries. They will begin to ask for other resources, and you will be empowered by Acts of Council to pick and choose who you use to contribute.

That, or something is methodically distorting or draining energy from the signal. The classical source of redshift is a Doppler effect caused by the object moving away realllly fast, but there are other conceivable explanations, especially since Stargazer is using an FTL communications method that can't work exactly the same as radio.
Meanwhile Docana breaks out the geologist's hammer...
They aren't the Harmony's biggest, but they might be the Harmony's most powerful or most modern. The dedicated tenders for their parasite craft almost certainly sacrifice various kinds of performance in order to support the tenders, much like the Apiata queenships. Queenships are actually quite impressive in one or two stats, but unimpressive in most others.
Modern or slightly postmodern; the Harmony may be a bit ahead of us in ship design technology.
On the other hand, D5 probably saves some tonnage compared to the Defense 6 or 7 ships that SDB is thinking in terms of, and for all we know the Harmony ships have a glass jaw when it comes to, say, hull strength. Or lousy science suites.
I regret to report that Konen frigates slipped through our defences and destroyed a Caitian Cargo Ship. Our underway intelligence is suggesting that, contrary to earlier xenopsych profiles, the Cardassians have allowed the Konen Task Force commander to take control of forces in the GBZ. ...Oh great, we're being mauled by Konen the barbarian.
[I REGRET NOTHING!!!]
Anyway, it's definitely something of a surprise if the Cardassians have actually ceded overall control of forces to an alien. I... am not sure what to make of that.
However, this is starting to press our forces thin. I am weighing up my options currently, but with my time in this role coming to an end, I am loathe to commit my successor to a course of action not of their own choosing. Because Starfleet Personnel Command told her (and this is one of those positions where I don't think its safe to let someone sit commanding an active pocket war zone for years at a time when they don't have to).

She arrived in 2315.Q3, I think, so a little over two years. Presumably she intends to put in for a retirement or a sabbatical or request a transfer or something like that. It is a pretty high stress job.
Anyway, it's definitely something of a surprise if the Cardassians have actually ceded overall control of forces to an alien. I... am not sure what to make of that.
Loss of confidence? Given how little is working out for them, and, well, Cardassians, they may well believe SFI has them infiltrated or cracked their codes, or we've discovered some kind of fatal flaw in their doctrines or psychology, or something else that would lead them to conclude they need to compartmentalize the Konen from normal ops.
So, we need to get more members in the GBZ, and we need to force a battle. Wolfpacking only works if you can decline battle. Phasers over their closest colony will put paid to that shit.
