Give me a moment to design something more Oberth-like...Almost all the Oberth successor designs I've seen so far are just the Centaur but better, so it'd be less a supplement and more of a replacement.
If a 1.4% Failure rate is OK, then yea the Ambassador Class is doable now.[X][RD] Amarkian Arsenal - Riala Team, Ship Design (Explorer), Skill 3
Time for the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-C)? Hell yes.
Oof. It's great for science, but anything just looks at that thing wrong and it goes poof. Needs a little more hull and shields IMO.Give me a moment to design something more Oberth-like...

I don't think we have a team for personal tech yet.
I thought you don't want to replace the Centaur?Oof. It's great for science, but anything just looks at that thing wrong and it goes poof. Needs a little more hull and shields IMO.

4 Year project, 50sr less than the front-page design. Done with the latest spreadsheet version as of this post.
Looks like GM just fixed the issue with Structural Integrity Fields not effecting reliability, so a lot of designs that I've seen pushing those levels high will need to be re-assessed.
When Nash asks Stesk about it, he smiles and tells her that every culture he has ever met has some variant of the phrase, "Too good to be true." The promise the Federation makes of friendship, cooperation, and safety sounds like its too good to be true. It doesn't take much to start people wondering whether they're being sold on a pipe dream.
The Councillor goes on to say, "There is a paradoxical condition among many sentient species, that makes people believe that something that comes with a clear cost is preferable. Life as a Cardassian client is objectively worse than life as a member of the Federation, but I believe that to many it satisfies their need to make 'hard choices."
Here you go:Oof. It's great for science, but anything just looks at that thing wrong and it goes poof. Needs a little more hull and shields IMO.
We need cruisers first. I really don't want the fleet coming online in twenty years after all the borders are on fire
I would consider tinkering with the scale until it's exactly 1mil, because resources. This is a very good point so have a cruiser designed to be built in 1mT berths.
@OneirosTheWriter is this valid?
The actual weight of the ship is 986kT

You're not wrong. And we are doing cruisers first. That doesn't mean we shouldn't start getting to work on a new explorer design soon. The Excelsior is not all that modern anymore.Guys, weren't we going for a cruiser first? Why the heck are we doing explorers which don't solve are current ship shortage issue?
Hmm, if we pick the Defensive Doctrine, we can run that when Lone Ranger gets finished.Too bad there is no Starship Construction team available.
The Rigellians will very likely Personal Tech available, Warp Tech is reasonably likely to be available from many others. The two teams least likely to be available from other affiliates are Explorers and Defensive Doctrine and both are skill 3 too, so we should probably pick between them.

You say the Rigellians will probably have Personal Tech, but how long will it take until they'd join us? I don't think we're currently rushing any affiliates towards membership, with our ship shortage.
And yet we're going to burn RP to activate two Explorer Design Teams at the same time?I don't think it matters. We need something like 100 RP before we'd burn RP on personal tech.
Not bad, not bad. Though perhaps we should include some special resource efficiency? If a 1.4% Failure rate is OK, then yea the Ambassador Class is doable now.
