just to make sure I understand what happened. while task force 1 was dealing with iron hail, the reinforcement fleet showed up and tried to defat us in detail by attacking task force 2. Not sure how they avoided giving us even a few hours warning, but a menat did it would be perfectly in line with what we've seen so far. Then the enterprise kind of killed most of them.

good lord, captin Mrr'shan is deadly in a brawl. Personally I'm fluffing that fight as in the initial calash the enterprise managed to lose itself in the sea of exotic particles the various research stations flooded the system with, and then charged right into the heart of the enemy fleet somehow avoiding the vast majority of incoming fire while disrupting the enemies formation. Or something else suitable insane because she did almost as much damage as everyone else combined.
I think it is more likely the reinforcement fleet had rallied and was heading towards us when TF2 detected and intercepted them, in the process they destroyed or disabled 4 of the 7 heavies with our forces in Ixiara disabling a 5th. But yeah the Enterprise did more damage then the rest of the task force combined... our Explorer corp can be deadly with captain and crew bonuses.

It looks like this was a deep space interception rather than a battle in the Ixaria system.

ah, ok that makes sense. its nice to see our 4 to 1 ship advantage letting us do stuff like have an ambush force as strong as the reinforcements waiting for them outside of their fortifications.

Nash was all like "Hey Sam, Michel keeps telling me about this mine stuff. It sounds pretty lame."

"Sounds lame indeed, Commodore."

"You know where there aren't any mines, Sam?"

"Deep space, ma'am?"

"Exactly! Which is right where the Imperial fleet is!"

"How convenient. >:3"

oh hey, looking through the logs it looks like in the actual clash our fleet dealt about 353 damage, 222 of which came from the enterprise. that's insasne, almost 2 thirds of our damage in the main fight came from one ship.

well since the Kortennon still have Their ships intact after we destroyed most of the rival house's ships there is only one thing to do to rectify that. Track down and destroy the Kortennon fleet ASAP.

As for Nash. Good god she owned the reinforcement fleet with her task force. I wouldn't be surprised if she gets promoted again after this. I wonder if the other houses are starting to get worried about their navy's inability to stop the Federation even with the help of the Mentats.

Enterprise, doing her best Jewel Staite impression:

"I love my captains."

She definitely shaved some time off needing to be in grade at any rate, plus justified her ability for task force command. As for the remaining house, once their superweapon is down it is hunting time

Hey, looking to confirm casualties on the Sarek.

Damaged but Operational:
USS Sarek, Excelsior-class - 1 O, 1 E (EC)
USS Torbriel, Oberth-class - 1 E

This claims it lost 1O, 1E.

USS Sarek - Combat 4.78/8, Shield 21.85/70, Hull 35.86/60 - Crew 6-4-4/6-5-5 - Enemies killed: 0 - Status:
Fired: 15, Fired On: 4, Hits Received: 4, Damage Dealt: 90.93

But per this it lost 1E, 1T. Battle log appears to confirm this one.

I'm trying to keep track of crew losses... should I go with 1E, 1T lost?

"Thiur and Straak have covered Ixaria but now Tartesis and the Emperor are about to enter the ring!"

"Thiur's looking rough, all that dirty fightings clearly taken its toll on this duo. If these fresh fighters tag in for Ixaria it could be all over for the Stoic Striker and the Rock Whisperer!"

"Wait a minute-- is that Nash's theme song?"

"IT IS AND HERE COMES SAMHAYA WITH THE METAL CHAIR!!"

[The chair is labelled 'Enterprise']

Keep in mind that the Kortennons took a beating from the Gaeni at the opening of the war. And have another whole task force camped on their doorstep. Whatever the outcome of this war ends up being, Baron Pedofat is not coming out ahead.

What makes it even better is how a tiny Nash is humping Enterprises' leg in that pic.

Don't forget the Indorians worshipping at her feet.

At this rate I'm wondering if all of our defensive preparations are going to go untested. The Arcadians don't seem in any position to launch an offensive, do they?

GAENI: You know how we declared war, and then helped nag the Federation into declaring war, and then we agreed to put our fleet under Federation command, and then we got put on guard duty and never actually had to fight anyone? Yes, that was pretty great.

I thought we wanted to stop them from launching a bunch of science ships with full Mentats? Or at least have a chance to detect and intercept these ships?

Have we ever been worried about a military offensive from them? They could still easily transition to terrorist WMD strikes. As long as we don't have a blockade in place over each of their worlds and all of their outposts and stations the possibility of a mentat in a souped up civillian ship evading our patrols and blowing up a star still exists.

Doctrine gave your ships +1L due to being outnumbered.
That doesn't seem to have been applied in the actual turns though.
Turn 6 - Ship AHS Starsea (Rithe) is firing upon Ship UES Yorkshire
Damage roll - Hitpower 2.14 vs Shields 30.00
Ship UES Yorkshire Shields reduced to 28.93
This is the first time Yorkshire was hit, as you can see, starting at 30 shield.
UES Yorkshire - Combat 3.00/3, Shield 28.93/40, Hull 20.00/20 - Crew 1-2-2/1-2-2 - Ships killed: 0 - Status:
Fired: 5, Fired On: 3, Hits Received: 1, Damage Dealt: 1.20
Hit once in the skirmish so far, over 10 shields down.

We're probably going to want to call on the Gaeni for a push on Gammon.

yeah, Kortennon basically walked away from this as the most powerful House there is, they didn't lose a single important asset, and they were the most belligerent to begin with if I recall the profiles correctly, and had the most Mentats that were actually focused on making superweapons instead of pure research stuff that just coincidentally made them horrifing superscience monstrosities.

Meanwhile, all of their rivals have just gotten their legs cut out at no cost to themselves.

On the other hand, the other houses might look at the results and say "well, these guys are the biggest factor in causing this war, while we're shouldering the cost. Fuck them."

I'd like to think the Licori rulers kind of realize that the threat of doing that kind of thing (without really meaning to) was sufficient to bring the Federation in on this war; actually doing so would be more likely to cause them to intensify rather than sue for peace. And for the terms to go from "yeah, we want you to promise to control that kind of thing" to "we're going to make sure you can't do that kind of thing".

ie, remove the mentat system altogether. Enforce regulations similar to those about augmentation, that kind of thing. Whereas a more traditional loss might lead to something more along the lines of "Strong regulation of 'full mentat' treatment and no mad science experiments".
