If I remember right, @Simon_Jester theorizes that the Borg improved their assimilation methods using the Biophage as a basis.

I think I phrased this badly. I had a mild nightmare about the borg finding the biophage, but it was also about the Biophage finding the Borg.

The build list hasn't been updated yet, so this is guess work.

The Vulcans scrapped a Soyuz to make crew available, presumably for a Rennie build - 1 or 2?
The Tellarites scrapped their only Soyuz to make crew available, for Rennies - 2?
The Humans have been stockpiling for years - 2 or 3?

Andorians want one, but cannot afford it yet.
Betazoids want one, as a defence flagship.
Indorians want one, but have to be taught Federation ship building first.
Caitians cannot afford one.

Amarkians prefers their own designs.
Rigil prefers their own designs.
Apatia prefer their own designs.

So guessing at either 1 Vulcan, 2 Tellarite and 3 Human, or 2 each.

None of them have the shipyards and resources available now to start all that immediately, but it gives an idea of their plans for the next year to two.

we were able to come up with a counter fairly fast. The borg could likely come up with one even faster. Now species 84712 encountering the biophage would be bad.

I dunno. They're shapeshifters with hellaweird biology. I suspect Species 8472 encountering the Biophage might boil down to:

Heck, for all we know, the Biophage got its start as Species 8472's equivalent of athlete's foot or something.

We did this to ourselves. Recall that they asked us how we foresaw using their fleet in action, and we answered "line combat, Turtleships and Megatortises at the fore to soak up damage that more lightly protected ships could not survive". They're focusing on their heavies because we asked them to.

Actually, the UESPA task force in Orion space is drawn from the Mirandas, Centaurs, and Constellations; it was originally called up back in '09 when Earth didn't have the Excelsior or the Connie.

What do we think about Tellarites getting involved in the GBZ? Their fleet is comparable to the human one, but they are closer and even more of an inner sector. The only downside is that they're the heart of the Development faction, so they might take some convincing.

Yeah the campaign started because of the Courageous incident, if you recall. The Syndicate was trading secrets with Cardassia, including cloaking tech. This is also what led to the Grey October crisis. It was an excellent plot line @OneirosTheWriter set up.

A little over 5 years ago... it's only 2314.Q1. But yes, we've been fighting the Syndicate for years now.
