So, uh....

[Options to develop a Council-level assistance for the Orion Union will be presented during a 2313.Q2.M2 Council Sessions post]

The Council has been lobbied to revisit the existing 2309 Anti-Slavery Act for a new set of amendments that Starfleet says is required to confront the changing landscape of operations against the Syndicate. [Council Session to take place in 2313.Q2.M2]

Wasn't 2313.Q2.M2 when Ainsworth was planning to make her death-or-glory attempt to blow the hell out of the Sydraxian fleet? Boy, and I was thinking, "Sure the Council will freak, but there's going to be almost a whole year before Sousa has to face them in an open session again! Plenty of time for them to calm down." Now here we are, having a special session to talk about Orions with Sousa's communicator beeping every few minutes with the latest casualties report.

Oh this is going to be fun. :D

I'm hoping we can get an Amarki counselor or two to congratulate her on "a righteous shoot" while everyone else freaks out and runs around in circles. :)

*Councilors file into the meeting room. Sousa watches through another door, counting heads.*

Sousa: Okay, that's all of them. Start serving the refreshments, and keep the Risan belly dancers onstage for as long as you can before we have to get started. After that...Commander Wolfe?

Wolfe: Oh god...

Sousa: I'm ordering you to have technical difficulties during the power point presentation about Orion economics. Drag it out as long as you can.

Wolfe: I cannot fucking believe this job sometimes. Sigh...yes sir.

Sousa: Very good, Commander. Ainsworth, you've got the Syds in your sights?

Ainsworth (via commlink): Just gimme the word, boss lady!

Sousa: Proceed.

Ainsworth: Yeeeha! I love the smell of vaporized dickheads in the morning! All ships, fire at will!

Sousa: *shuts off commlink* Okay, time for the meeting. Too bad I won't get to see the look on Stesk's face when he finds out...

It would be nice to be able to open our GBZ presentations with:

"The Sydraxians are no longer an issue."
"What happened?"
"They chose to engage Ainsworth in a fleet battle. A fleet battle she planned on. They chose ... poorly."

Or just

"Why, what happened to the Sydraxian fleet?"

"Admiral Ainsworth happened to them."

Nah, we need some build up to it:

"Why, what happened to the Sydraxian fleet?"

"What Syndraxian fleet? they do have more than one, you know?"

(Aide): "The one in the Gabriel Expanse"

"Yes! That one, the one at Gabriel"

"They have no Syndraxian fleets in the Gabriel expanse."

"What? But the last report packet my office got..."

" Yes, that was before Admiral Ainsworth"

"What? What happened with the Admiral?"

"She found that fleet offensive and decided to do something about it."

Or:
"..."
"Admiral Ainsworth invited them to an in-depth discussion of the pros and cons of their respective stances and convinced them to choose a more productive approach."
"How did she manage that - opened communications and persuaded them?"
"Exactly. After she blew up the Sydraxian's home fleet."

So does this quest have a good end condition?
Is the Alpha, Beta, Gama, and Delta quadrant united and fully explored? If yes then I guess we have achieved A good end. Though even with that there are still the Small and Large Magellanic Clouds, as well Andromeda to explore. Hell we know that at the very least the Small Magellanic Cloud and Andromeda are populated.

Though by that point @OneirosTheWriter will probably either be dead or at the very least not running this quest anymore.

You know if any of my fellow questers here are either rich currently or happen to some how become rich in the future you really should consider getting this made into a video game it would probably sell. Hell Kick-starter it if you have to.

Oneiros seems to be taking a lot of inspiration from Rule the Waves, and many of the core elements of this process could be automated. The big problem would be turning the procedurally generated event rolls into something interesting; what makes this quest fun is the characters and the captains' logs.

Alternately, we somehow manage to bootstrap the Federation to Qdom within the next few in-game decades and give up on physical habitation of the galaxy(ies) altogether.

We've got Betazoid and Vulcans who have access to Psionics - do we have scientific research into these areas? One of the things I always wondered why the scientifically inclined Vulcans didn't do more with PSI ...

Probably because the average Vulcan has roiling emotional thunderstorms going on beneath their controlled superego exterior. Making psychic contact with one another is (or can be) really intense.

Vulcans can be very emotional. They just happen to be good at self-control.

... Why didn't Vulcans look into genetics? Humans have the 'KHAAAAN' excuse, but Vulcans?
