Unleash the culinary industry! Federation memetic weaponry will pacify all opponents!

So here is my final, fine-tuned fleet distribution plan. With the reminder that the Federation is wide and some of these distances are vast, I made some changes that drop efficiency slightly in return for bowing to 'realism' and not sending ships on months-long journeys needlessly. Like, I decided that no, there's no point in sending a Miranda from Sol to the SBZ and then bringing it back to Sol the very next quarter for its refit in the UP yards. Just leave it in Sol system. Or not trying to send the Yukikaze to the GBZ and the Callorn to the ASTF when I could just leave the Yukikaze where it is and send the Challorn to the GBZ. (Yes, high-enlisted ships are better for the ASTF, but after all it already has two cruisers.)

Planned Ship Changes
  • T'Mir (Oberth) comes back from overdue refit in 2313Q2 +1D
  • 2 Miranda-As (Shield and Fidelity) come back from refit in 2313.Q2 +4D

@Briefvoice
You should probably deploy the T'Mir to a hot spot . It's got a crew bonus and omake bonus. I'd say send it to Gabriel. A Blooded Oberth with an evasion bonus and hull reroll sounds excellent for science work there. It's not outfighting actual warships but it's got much better odds of lasting to bug out.

I don't think the Risans want to be our go-to jailers and brainwashers.
I don't think anyone was proposing jailing or brainwashing. Just hitting people used to rationing with the Federation culinary scene.

Edit: Earth would probably be better. Or Betazed. Excellent therapists and law enforcement's vastly more capable than Cardassians would expect if anything goes bad.

Okay, what ship would you like to pull from where to replace it at Rigel Sector? Pulling it from Rigel without replacement will leave us below the Defense requirement there.

Though I think I should say... I do consider Rigel to be a potential "hot spot". Don't forget it has an active war raging right outside the sector borders. Now that war doesn't currently involve us, but I don't think having a highly capable Blooded Oberth there is the worst idea in the world, you know?

I think that speaks to having A Oberth there, but not necessarily the T'Mir, which would probably better serve us in the CBZ or GBZ.

Unfortunately looking at your ship distribution that would require redoing Andor/Sol/Vulcan. Also, the ASTF loses its Oberth but that was going to happen under any plan.

They'll probably be kept around Miran and the other defectors. Since apparently most crewmembers are press ganged or drafted, they'll probably see their stay with us as a nice vacation. It's the loyal officers and the likely present and incognito Obsidian Order agents that we'll have to worry about, though a Betazed telepath should easily be able to differentiate between those.

Swap it for the Shield. A Miranda-A brings nothing to the table with Salnas, 2 Connie-B's and Challorn all present already. Also with size of the force you've got on the SBZ I'm not worried about leakers hitting Rigel.

o:< "We've got tougher, more disciplined minds to read than you expect. Note that your Betazoid diplomats read little from our diplomats at the meeting about Celos."

Dukat, incidentally, no-sells a Vulcan mind meld attempt, so.

Just having that training is a dead giveaway that they're worth keeping a very close eye on.

Hmmm. That's doable. What does everyone else think? To break the argument down:

Would you rather have two Science 6, combat-capable ships in the Gabriel Border Zone by having the T'Mir (Blooded Oberth with bonus evasion chance) there as well as the Salnas (an Excelsior), but in return leaving Rigel sector (an "open" Sector) with only a Centaur-A and a Miranda-A?

Or do you favor the "at least one high-Science ship in every sector as much as possible" approach and want to keep the T'Mir in Rigel sector so that there will be a great Science response available for applicable events there?

Speaking of, that actually made me wonder if they've run into a telepathic race -- Letheans, bought some Remans, even the mythical Ferasans/Kzin -- and have been using them to train up.

That or Cardassian mind is like PURE TRITAINUM, yours are UNDISCIPLINED AND WEAK because of all the FOOD
