[X] Enterprise - Approach and then use a shuttle-borne infiltration to access the comm traffic from a subspace relay to get the information. (Enterprise must pass Hard DC Sci-T)

When in doubt, time to go with the ship that has previously managed to get itself literal plot shields! Please don't let this go bad.

Watch the new Cardassian clients turn out to be the Romulans and Klingons.

More likely the Breen and the Gorn.

Can we do multiple votes? I am also for Sarek.

[X] Enterprise

It's not the single best ship in the fleet for just propaganda you know, since it has pulled the impossible before. Believe in it!

Okay, we're trending Enterprise, does anyone have any ideas for how to give her an edge? Anything? We need this to happen, we're in the Magic meeting room right now and in the bit of the episode where we try desperately to figure out how to save the day. Ideas please.

[jk] Attempt temporal warp and steal the information last week!

No, but okay. This is a shuttle mission to get to a Cardassian subspace relay and tap into it without being detected, make the inquiry, and then sneak back out again. That means you need a great pilot and something special. Like, maybe, some Iconian superscience that the Cardassians aren't prepared for? Didn't we have a crew member who.... Hmm.

Heidi Eriksson points out that any of the Cardassian comm hubs would be able to access this information. From their current position, the USS Enterprise could be able to sneak in and access one of the coreward subspace relays.

Captain Diego Zaardmani - Assigned to Commander, USS Torbriel, from Lecturer, Starfleet Academy

Any chance the best sensorm'n of the fleet could be on the Enterprise for one more mission? I don't know if sneaking along another entire ship is a possibility, but it is a specialty science vessel.

Edit: Whoops, need to vote.

Wow, they honestly think a deal that doesn't include them hanging the Syndicate out to dry is acceptable?

If you guys do come up with a good, sufficiently trekky episode plot summary to go with your chosen vote, I'll give a bonus to the rolls. Think stunts from Imrix's Ulthuan Quest.

Wow, they honestly think a deal that doesn't include them hanging the Syndicate out to dry is acceptable?
These are their opening stances - the Councillors are unsure as to how hard to push back while they don't know what the Cardassian allies have to offer. That's why you're undertaking this mission. If you pass, you can let the Councillors call the bluff and end up with a much better agreement.

Is it possible to do 2 options instead. IE sending the Enterprise after the Hub while the Couragous goes to visit the Sydraxian's. The other two options are an automatic No since they have to many cons instead of Pro's in my opinion.

They might actually have enough Combat power to beat us now, if they can keep the Seyek and Qloathi out of it, and their client states and affiliates are strong enough. It's probably just a bluff of course but if it isn't....

That's a lot of ifs.

The reason that I'm not allowing multiple options is because if everyone tries their mission, you can only learn about the new client states the once, all other successes are redundant, but every failure would stack. It becomes a case where you're increasing your risk rather than reducing it.

It's like the line from Anna Karenina; all happy ships are happy in the same way, but all unhappy ships have fucked up in unique and astounding special ways and you get to experience all of them.

If Sarek gets caught trying to hack the Ronagot, it could easily blow up the negotiations.

I am against doing the Sarek option. Its too big a risk for too little gain. The Ronogot is in orbit of Celos which is a major hotspot right now during the Negotiations and if we screw up its a shooting war right out of the dock. So For the Sarek Option I vote No.

S'harien would probably be in little physical danger if they fail, although we'd probably badly offend the Qloathi.

I would rather not offend the Qloathi and give them a reason to distrust us more than they probably do right now. And risk pushing them further into the Cardassian camp than they already are. I would much rather we have them in our camp thanks. So for the Qloathi option I vote No.

If Courageous gets attacked before the Sydraxians agree to talk to Captain McAdams, it blows up the Courageous.*

In my Opinion the Enterprise option is the best one and gets my Vote. Well that and it has plot armor helping it.

Sure, hence why I said it's probably a bluff. Problem is, we just don't know much about Cardassian client state and affiliate ship numbers and strength. Could be they now have enough, could be we still have quite the edge. It's very uncertain, IMO.

Edit: The situation also changes depending on how much help we get from our affiliates.

we do have options. If we have time and they are available we can call in some help from our member states. The Caldonians and Gaeni can give us options during the Hub mission

I'm not sure what the stunt should look like not following the quest in question, but...

[X] Enterprise
-[X] Captain Mrr'shan thought she had a perfect plan. Lieutenant-Commander Sapok managed to convert yet another of the Ganai Ensign Beekaru's science projects into an ion storm, and Stol's steady hand would pilot her engineer, Lieutenant-Commander Kenichi, who had helped take apart the Kadak-Torr, and was the closest thing the Federation had to an expert on Cardassian tech close enough to get the transmissions. Her trump card though, was her first Betazoid crewmember, Ensin Nixa, who would let them know when the local crew was off shift. However, when a maintenance craft showed up mid-mission, Mrr'shan personally lead a group on a spacewalk, to try to disable the maintenance craft sensors before they could blow the alarm...

Choosing the Enterprise would be true to history of the source material.

Failure will not add extra rage to an affiliate, it doesn't grossly violate the diplomatic meeting and only has a low chance of ship loss.

Success (assuming the information required can be accessed) is much the same in all cases.

Risk vs reward leads me to

EDIT:
Are the Cardies naturally telepath resistant in this series? Or have they been working on anti-telepath tech, and have been keeping away until they were sure it would work?

Hmmm..... we probably have an overview of standard protocols and habits from Penelya Miran and her officers. And Ajam herself...

We know Enterprise is capable of stealth in space, they've done it several times, including recently in meeting with the Gretarians.

If you can add to it and smooth it out, go ahead, I just figured throw at least something out there with some of the people I knew were there.
