I suspect it's because the prototype and experimental offerings from Yolodyne always look to tempting to pass up.

Imagine if you got the option for 0.7 Warp higher cruise from Yolodyne, if you just give our new experimental nacelle a chance in this fancy triple nacelle layout.

I want room for more antimatter and deflector sensors. I think the extra deck is needed for an aux slot next to the deflector.

It's time to show any hostile powers that because of our unity we can build ships on a scale they can't match.

Why would we blame them? They got us a new hull material that is pretty much strictly better than the old stuff.

Yoyodyne, if anything, needs more funding.

This isn't Yoyodyne. Yoyodyne does warp engineering, not hull plating.

Because if that's the case, even the Full Chonker would only have the mass of the original, unmodified Saucer, which would be awesome
