Honestly, I don't see these ships being mothballed or scrapped after the war. After a cobalt-nuke hit Earth, the argument for having a heavily-armed battleship on station at each colony is way too strong, even if it rarely gets used for much beyond garrison duty.
There is substantial value for civilian and military morale to know that you have a battleship watching over every colony/world of yours.
I could see them being used for back-line colony defense for a few decades, but once the Coalition becomes the Federation there is going to be a spate of colonizing and a small handful of slow-ass battleships are not gonna be what anyone wants to keep building or maintaining, when those are resources that can be spent on far faster and more competent patrol ships.Honestly, I don't see these ships being mothballed or scrapped after the war.
