It seems my post has grown far beyond my reach. I don't have a problem with cliffhangers in general , just that the way mp3.1415player went about that particular cliffhanger was way over-the-top.

If mp3.1415player had stopped there? That's fine, good pacing, no problems, wouldn't have even batted an eyebrow. But he got greedy, dug too deep, and ended up slathering entirely too much mustard on an already fine sandwich, ruining the meal.
Wrong thread, methinks...

No, he's the one who said something in Taylor Varga about the @#$*! cliffhanger at the end of the last non-interlude chapter, and how it had grown in a way he hadn't expected.

And here, have some Pi.... :)

Considering that Tiamat is one of the people who gave Taylor her powers, Miss Militia has every right to know. Does the phrase "Lawful superior" mean anything to you?

Really? NO it doesn't. I already deleted my comment by the time you read it. Cuz I didn't want to have this conversation. Some things the PRT doesn't need to know, if they could get the white dragon it'd be in a lab somewhere.

My apologies. Though I confess that this version of the PRT seems nicer than that...

"A pity about the boy," huh? I note that dragon goddesses can resurrect people. I wonder how Hannah would like adopting her baby brother.

Oh hey, Billy Blazkowicz, Junior, alias Commander Keen. Huh.

I wonder if white dragons being the worst was originally a jab at white supremacists. The E88 might get a bit [more] of a shock.

Be known unto Tiamat.

Besides, they go together anyway, and considering the adverse reaction to cliffhangers elsewhere
It's not "cliffhangers" in TV/MS that I (and, I suspect, others) are tired of, it's going several paragraphs of talking about a thing without giving any details, description, or naming the thing. It's like a cliffhanger in the same way Magritte's The Son of Man is like a painting of a head.

You don't do that thing.

So Taylor was merged with a Dragon whose was blanked, or suffered death of personality.

Would that make Taylor an Exalted Dragon? 👀

There seems to be a bit of confusion.
"I won't go into meta-physical details, but your spirit was bound to a dragon's spirit, a young gold dragon whose mind was wiped blank before her body was destroyed. One of Tamara's last wishes was that we should not prolong her suffering any more than needed, and that she should be given a chance to live again."
Taylor isn't Tamara's reincarnation, she was merged with a Young Gold, who quite probably worshiped the Wingless Platinum Dragon named Tamara, and who Tamara wanted to have a second chance at life.

Then again, this may imply the reason that so few Dragons have been created from Humans is because, for one reason or another, the Dragon Gods are unable to do so freely, and special circumstances let them get away with it in Taylor's case. (If I were to guess, there are likely Divine Treaties and agreements preventing the conversion of Humans into True Dragons in most cases; that's the usual reason for a God in D&D to not just step in and do something.....)

Meta-Physics, Scaling Up Style
@Jacen1 has the right of it, for the most part. Taylor's spirit or soul was slowly being poisoned to death by the trio. Meta-physical, philosophical, or religious discussions aside about what happens after death, Taylor's spirit/soul was pretty much dying by that point; it was simply a matter of time before she simply was found dead. On the fantasy side of things you had a young dragon whose mind was erased, but whose spirit went to the Eyrie, to await rebirth. Tamara expressed her desire to her older brother, Bahamut, that Naurelin should have a second chance at life. At that point, however, things were starting on the down hill slope to oblivion for all mortal dragons, since there were fewer than 50 breeding pairs left total. Shortly after that, Tamara herself vanished after trying to annihilate her brother Falazure.

In order for a mortal to become a dragon, it must first be voluntary. Then, the mortal must be worthy of it or having attracted the attention of said Draconic deities. There must be a dragon spirit willing to go through with it as well. Any of the remaining Draconic gods could do it, though I'd be a little worried about the results of Hlal or Garyx performing that particular ritual (Chronepsis, of course, wouldn't bother).

Hmm.

I forget, does becoming a Dragon grant resistance to being Mastered? Because if so, and if there are any other dragon souls...Amy should be moved to the top of the list. IIRC Vicky's aura plays a fairly pretty major role in how stressed she is, and is literally THE reason she started lusting after Vicky in canon.

I second the Lizarding of the stressed healer.
The Amy deserves head pats. 💚🦎
