I'm more worried about all the ear drums we're going to rupture, and rain of (very sharp) shards of glass.

Edit: Note to self: do your goddamn research.

It's worth noting that Mythbusters once demonstrated that the sonic boom of a passing jet fighter does not actually rupture the glass, but it could potentially make the window pop out of the frame if it hasn't been bolted in properly because you DIYed it instead of getting a professional to do it for you. Same with the ear drums, I think, but no direct confirmation of that.

My primary concern is that of being ganked. Am I too paranoid?

You think a sonic boom will make ear drums pop out of their frames unless they were bolted in by a proffesional?

So, now that we know it's not going to causing a glassplosion, are there any other pertinent objections to using a sonic boom to announce our return? Far enough away to not risk rupturing eardrums, but close enough to be really loud is totally doable.

Speaking of Oriko, we should probably go and get someone to fix her neck properly at some point, I can't imagine it's doing her headaches any good. Also might want to check up on roughly when the feathers come for her, to better prepare for it.

Yeah, we're putting healing her more painful injuries all the way up on our "to-do" list, along with having a heart to heart with her at some point.

What would we have a heart to heart about?
Besides apologizing for threatening to kill Kirika in the worst way we could think of... kind of awkward now that she's our new Best Friend.

...wait is that the plan here? Fuck the sensible paranoid thing and befriend Akiko?
I want to befriend Sakura via Rin as per the Oriko Protocol. Which is now a thing.

I guess we could try to be friends with Akiko too. It'd be easier if she had a cute girlfriend we could hang out with though.

Is it bad that I want to befriend people solely so we can troll them without fear of murder?

Edit: More seriously, being friends is way less effort than constant distrust.

...I see.

I dunno, being friends is a lot of effort. You have to keep up with them and stuff. I'd say it's about the same amount of effort really. Ultimately though, I guess it's not quite as problematic and has less tendency to result in fatalities.

Still, Akiko make my Paranoia flare. As we've discussed, for what possible reason does she need three seeds a week? It's completely mental, and yet she comes off as a fairly reasonable person. My immediate reaction to this is "DO NOT TRUST".

And my immediate reaction to three seeds a week is "I NEED TO KNOW WHY". Like you said, it's a completely mental action by someone who otherwise seems realistic.

Well... that actually is potentially problematic. Just like how Kirika being our friend is potentially problematic if Sayaka gets wind of it. Having multiple groups of friends you have to keep away from each other is just sort of... loneliness inducing, to be honest.

"Sayaka, I had to save the girl who tried to burn down your house from herself. She thought almost killing you would prevent some kind of massive disaster she had forseen. Yeah, saying she was an idiot is an huge understatement. I'm working to correct her way of thinking. Maybe you'd like to meet her so you can punch her in the face or something?"

Yeah, it'll be problematic, but if we're upfront about getting along with Akiko then the worst that can happen is "I don't see how you can stand her". It's not like we're bringing her to Ishinomaki for their birthday parties, right?

Well, that's more of a feature... :D
So we just gave Oriko a couple migraines in a row, and you think it's a good idea to give her the mother of all migraines right after that? While she's in the middle of trying to sleep the previous two off?

Seriously, let Oriko have her nap and down time. She'll be far more personable and relaxed the next time we speak to her than she would be otherwise. And having only semi-controllable precognitive powers when your neighbor is a metaphorical rocket-propelled wrecking ball in causality/sequence of events is hard enough.

Fairly sure the seeds are just a happy side-effect for her. Continuing with the demands when they're plainly unsustainable (they already killed one member and drove another away, reducing ability to deliver, and were about to wipe out the rest) is economically foolish and strongly implies that this was punitive - intended to kill UG off, drive them out, cripple their ability to oppose Sendai, or maybe soften them up for a takeover bid.
The alternative - that they have an ongoing, desperate and immediate need for all the seeds they can hunt, all the seeds UG can hunt, and Rin's takings - seems pretty unlikely.
