If our grief can have magnetic properties and can generate light...why don't we create a plasma launcher or a railgun with it...? From my understanding the issues for plasma generators is that it gets too hot breaking containment, but the fuel is an easily accessible abundant resource. Also let's test if our grief can insulate radioactive materials and block gamma ray radiation and detect radiation with either a construct or Geiger counter. Just a potential avenue for railgun nukes after reading that metal gear quest, is this escalation? Yea it pretty much is, but when we are facing an eldritch birb thingy that may be alt-devil akemi/abomination we need to get an even deadlier arsenal.

I have this design in my head that's basically the shape of a partical accelerator but on a much smaller scale that has the materiel speeding up and when it's reaches sufficient velocity we just open an exit leading to a barrel increasing accuracy.

We have voted to use a railgun before, but Mami vetoed it by putting a pair of Tiros Finale on MECHA GURREN ZILLA LAGANN's shoulders instead.
But now we can test it by getting highly conductive/durable metals then testing to see if it does in fact work (which very well may happen). Point is that we have the opportunity apart from mami and a whole junkyard to make the protagonist 'my little railgun' seem inadequate by launching huge slugs!

Edit: I get it that conceptual beings seem really hard to destroy, but I think railgun nukes could be a plan H for walpurgisnacht and dealing with fallout is our grief sifting cloud cleaning the after effects one swipe at a time. Unless it's a touchy subject in Japan, but I digress. If we can continually generate energy in mulriple grief reactors and compress the energy further to make a venerable star that we can launch at our worst enemies! It's the first step of some to launch planet destroying psudo celestial objects! Though obviously testing should be within barriers or pocket dimensions.

Also all devil akemi/conceptual eldritch abimination could do is attack us from range negating the memory device unless we can take advantge of it getting close so we may strike true with something really strong (And why wouldn't it be miniature neutron stars?)

I really wanted to expand on this tngent because I think it's a good suggestion to follow and it's something that can be scaled even further given more creativity. For example automatic nuclear raingun launcher, we can have planetary destruction within our grasp to fend off outsider beings. But I suppose it's ok to be skeptical about depending on sheer firepower instead of magical girl artifacts. But I ask you this: would you dismiss great power because it's not enough compared to a god?

That is all my thoughts on the matter of escalation, and if I suggest more destructive weaponry It'll get likely dismissed as well I guess for not being good enough.

Edit 2: Partical accelerators creating tiny black holes, have each micro black hole be reletivly close to each other as they are created in the same instance, they are drawn to each other increasing its size and then use gravity to launch it when it gets big enough. Using it on earth is not recommended, in a pocket dimension for sure.

I wanted to keep this all single post so it would be violatiing some rule.

A railgun is actually pretty pointless for Sabrina - it's a way of accelerating magnetic materials by using electricity, but Sabrina can accelerate anything to an arbitrary speed already by just using a grief sabot.

And launching plasma is very, very unlikely to actually do anything meaningful to Feathers in the case that it is Homucifer. She's an omnipotent time demon, what're some moderately hot atoms gonna do?

Water continues to be wet.

I don't think we've introduced Shiogama to Sayaka in person yet, so now should be a good time to do that. Also,

Yup, adding this into our goals for the trip over there is very much inside our template. If we can understand them a little, maybe we can easily convince them to color inside the lines. They might even SCIENCE. It is also a treat for Yuki, though it isn't on her list. Cold tension between neighbors does nothing for her, I wonder how she would like to have good neighbors?

We have an upgrade option on moral hold already. The memory device is plenty dangerous in a wizard duel. As for boom? The hardest part of weapon specification here is getting enough, but never too much. We are the defense, and collateral hurts, right?

She has those.
"They're not actually villainous, if that's what you're asking," she says. "Perfectly pleasant girls, but we don't have much contact with them. They just so happen to be living in a rather lovely grotto, and one of them has volcanic powers of some kind. They have a hotspring backlit by glowing magma."

Huh. Props to @HeroCycle for pointing this out to me, but looking at the research published by the Head of the Psychology Department at Rissho University (the one located in Osaka, Shinagawa, Tokyo), they appear to specialize in depression and help-seeking behaviours in high-school and university students.

That's... pretty obviously relevant to our interests. Of course, who knows if the same person has the position in the PMMM universe?

I can value this high enough for actual IC "go online, and pull the records. Walk into the office." Might be a different person. So long as someone is doing this, I think they Need more magic in their lives.

Sure, but there's also an Osaki that's next to Tokyo - or, rather, is a district in Shinagawa on the outskirts of Tokyo.

I figured this might be the Osaki that's allies with the University group because, well, it's got a pretty prestigious University in it.

That said, even if it's the other Osaki, I'd still like to get in touch - as you said, that'd make us practically neighbours.

It's worth noting that Google maps is lying to you a bit there: Shinagawa --- and by extension Osaki, Shinagawa --- is one of Tokyo's special wards (Meaning it's part of Tokyo City proper, not even in the suburbs or the greater metropolitan area yet) so anyone there is absolutely part of the council, rather than just close to them.

Given what we've seen of naming conventions so far, and that that Osaki is part of Shinagawa ward, I'd expect the members a magical girl group there to be the Shinagawa group, assuming they don't do things differently in Tokyo.

I'd be pretty surprised if territories in Tokyo weren't generally more condensed than in smaller cities. That said, I'm interested in the Osaki group either way. Either they're our neighbours, or they're an in to Tokyo. In both cases, we should get in touch.

But our name is Sabrina, not Power.

In an alternate timeline...

"I finally decided on a last name you guys. Sabrina Power!"

"...Really?"

"I saw it on a hair dryer!"

"No, no, shut the fuck up, that Simpsons joke doesn't work for 'Sabrina Power'."

"...Actually, um... I enchanted my hair dryer to say...Well, not just the hair dryer. But."

"Oh, Mamiii~! So I'm NOT just having an egotistical delusional fugue. <3<3 I love you."

"...*Sigh*"

--[x] You've made enough progress on 'the project' that you think you have a starting point for talking to her.

We've got some pretty interesting results with feeding Clear Seeds hopeful magic - and given Airi's close connection to Yuuri, I suspect she'd be more than willing to spend a ton of time channeling hopeful magic into Yuuri's clear seed.

I really, really don't want to get into an argument about this, but... it does feel like the logical thing for Sabrina to bring up, here? Maybe the discussion can happen "off-screen" so we can ditch Rionna's gem there, be assured that Yuki is "working on it", and not have to worry about it in-character for pretty much the rest of the quest?

Not much to say about this part. More decent magical girls with Clear Seeds is a big positive.

Seems reasonable.

She's not just talking to Sabrina, though. Also present are God, the Devil, the 1%, and the legendary Mami Tomoe.

The surest method is to fall into despair and see if that turns you into a representation of your faults and fears as viewed through a real bad acid trip.

The surest, but not necessarily the most useful.

Don't railguns have high recoil? How about we take advantage of that to move really fast? Just shoot, and find yourself flying in the opposite direction! :drevil:
We can already accelerate at almost any arbitrary forces. The only thing holding us back is our reflexes and our avoiding squishing our passengers.

We can pretty much do most physics based attacks via grief manipulation alone. Anything more high powered starts having collateral damage issues
