Anyone have any ideas as to how the Incubators might respond or adapt if we manage to destroy the masquerade completely? I'm thinking it's our best chance for breaking the system on earth without the quest turning into Revelation Space meets Nobilis or something.

This is probably from somewhere, I forget where unfortunately, but if somebody Witched out on national television that would probably do it. That would ensure contracts go down significantly, even if they manage to dispose of us or find some means of containing us once it hits the news media. Only problem is how ethically reprehensible it would be.

Speculated Reactions:
A: There are still desperate people. We are still not at risk. We'll just volunteer more information now, maybe branch out to make up for the loss in yields.
if(Sabrina figures out dewitching && Sabrina is the only one who can dewitch && Sabrina can't dewitch somebody without being in the same location as them)
{
Sabrina still can't be everywhere at once. Human technology cannot yet send Witches to her. Even if she develops an institution for delivering grief seeds to her, we can subvert it. Worst case scenario we remote her gem, or target her support structure, or get her framed for heinous crimes, or make leaving Mitakihara impossible, and if none of those work, send warforms(OOC: I'm assuming that if the hypothetical Warforms exist, they would be on par with Culture Gelsuits and/or Special Circumstances drones).
}
else if(Sabrina can dewitch anyone on the planet from anywhere on the planet && is the only one who can do it)
{
We witch or kill Sabrina, we work out a new system, or we abandon the planet.
}
B: Time to abandon the planet. We cannot take the chance somebody wishes us out of existence.

I, personally, cannot stand PMMM with a broken masquerade. If we ever reach that point, I won't actively oppose it, but I certainly won't support it.

... Kyuubey covered up Walpurgisnacht. For years. In this quest, a bunch of magical girls had a kerfuffle in the middle of a major city that caused absurd amounts of property damage and several deaths, before actively participating in rescuing victims, and nothing happened. A witchout on live TV would temporarily increase Kyuubey's workload, and do nothing else. If we buzzed the White House with our Mobile Oppression Fortress while blaring the Sailor Moon theme, it would be entirely covered up before the end of the day.

We can't break the masquerade as long as the Incubators remain on Earth.

If we break the masquerade, governments would crack down on the issue, particularly the military, security and intelligence related departments...

[x]Stick around long enough to make sure they're alright.
[x]Gently bring up the Oriko situation to Mami. (Telepathy)
-[x] If she's okay with it, say goodbye to everyone and go to Oriko's place with Mami. Last cleanse to everyone.
[x] Telepathy Homura. Ask her if she could lend Sayaka a grief seed. We'd give her ours but there may be problems with it. You'd have to check.
-[x] Thank her if she does.
[x] Talk to Mami on the way. Let Kirika know we're coming.
[x] When we're there, degrief Kirika. Bring Mami up to speed.
[x] Remake the pain blocking ring. Usual warnings.
[x] Run healing magic on Oriko's body. Remove any damage brought by necrosis. Wake Oriko up.
[x] Everyone is probably hungry at this point. Suggest ordering take out?
[X] Make a second pain free ring. See if you can wrap the ring in a magic shell. If yes, release the ring from your control and see if it sustains itself. See if it works. If it fails anywhere or it takes too long to wrap the ring in magic just dismiss the extra ring for now.
[x] Discuss plans on how to proceed.
-[x] Ask Kirika if she made any progress. If not that's okay.
-[x] Enchantment is probably the surefire way to go.

If the masquerade is broken, then we're going to have more girls wanting to contract for the sake of "I get to be a Magical Girl and have a free wish." Then we have a lot of cases of those either becoming one for the sake of shallow reasons, wanting to make themselves better than others and start stuff, or those who are like Sayaka who will break down in like a week.

Well, I'm all for breaking the masquerade.
On one hand, governments may treat Megucas as security risks and threats...

On the other hand, there would be more ways for MG's to seek assistance regarding their issues...

Also, the phenomenon would be studied all day. Actual science (how does magic work?) and social science (how do magical girls behave and how do their societies work?) as well as philosophy (souls actually exist?)...

I'm trying to think of a way to actually manage it. Kidnapping several heads of state simultaneously and then continually evading pursuit in a blatantly magical way seems like a decent start, but still might not be enough to stick.
Nothing active. Just keep telling people and taking actions in daylight until it's not worth it anymore. By that time, we'd have spread cleanses and hopefully dewitched.

*makes a note in vacation plans*
Add that we should be standing at the front, cosplaying as Nahona, shooting FRIENDSHIP LAZERZ, pink of course, everywhere.

Then a hatch opens under the Mobile Oppression Fortress and from there drops MECHA GURREN ZILLA LAGANN, piloted by Sayaka, and it promply turns on its rocket thrusters and flies besides us, roaring with nuclear power.

For the finale, Sayaka lands MECHA GURREN ZILLA LAGANN back on the Mobile Oppression Fortress and we pick up Mami, who would precariously sit arms and legs crossed on Sabrina's arms, then we leave her atop of MECHA GURREN ZILLA LAGANN, and then she creates the DRILL THAT'LL PIERCE THE HEAVENS, and PIERCES THE HEAVENS while yelling 'GIGA ROTURRA TRAPANO!'.

Incidentally, Mami's shot destroys an Incubator ship.

How's that for a vacation plan.
