Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

I am going to say this.

You already have an autopass on everything and let me say this:

Do you want delay updates by days or weeks for me to come out of rewards?
I think it's a bit disingenuous to claim that the updates would be put off by weeks over rewards and even days seems like a bit of a stretch(but who knows, I only have your word on how difficult you find the process so whose to say that it wouldn't genuinely take that long, even when able to draw from a pool of previous reward examples), but yes, I would be more than fine with updates being put off for a few days if it meant more thought went into rewards and rewarding the effort that goes into some of these pitches. Frankly, I don't much care about the autopass. That was something that you offered up completely independently and it was only for the Negaverse omake, meaning that my and overmind+Carcer's work still amounted to nothing. Not to mention, an autopass is only worth as much as the actions we're provided that turn, something that tends to remain mostly static between turns beyond the first few actions that get consumed constantly and are pretty much the only actions that actually get cycled out and rarely has an effect beyond that immediate turn.
But since you are that worried about it:

D100 => 100

Next turn there will be some big fucking changes in the world.
I'm sure it's not your intention or anything, but this just feels like a deflection. Like sure, I'm probably gonna enjoy whatever this turns out to be and have fun with it, but it doesn't effectively address the very real concern I'm raising that months of work can be rendered moot if you just don't feel up to it that day instead of just putting off giving a reward for that pitch for a couple of hours or a day or 2. Hell, you ask if I'd be fine if that pushed back updates, but why would it? The rewards and pitches are divorced from the updates themselves. There's absolutely nothing stopping you from just moving past a set of pitches you're having difficulty with coming up with a reward for and just putting out the update before coming back to those pitches once you've given it more thought. You don't even have to do all the pitches at once, you could just do a couple of them that come easiest to you and then come back to the more difficult ones later.
I really hope you don't decide to get pissed on that.
Again, I want to make it clear. I'm not trying to attack you, put you down, or denigrate either you or your efforts. Hell, I'm not even mad, just annoyed, but this is a very real concern I have that fundamentally undermines a core mechanic and source of engagement of the quest and I just don't want to have this happen again because it absolutely harms my ability to be invested in this quest that I do otherwise thoroughly enjoy when it feels like what I'm putting into the quest is disproportionate to what I'm getting out of it and it feels like I can be punished for just catching you at a bad time.

Hey man, just want to mention, please don't push the GM into delaying the updates.
I'm not, he's asking if I would be fine if it did, which I would be. I also offered alternatives to dealing with that issue so that it wouldn't delay them. I obviously don't want updates to be delayed if they don't have to, but at the same time, I want my time, effort, and investment put into the quest to be appropriately rewarded.

Auto passes are amazing for when we want to buy or get the rights to something. Remember when we almost lost Forgotten Realms to Universal? If we do stuff like that on a autopass turn we have no worries. Plus it's comforting to know there's not going to be a failure everyone in a while.

Okay but, and I get that you're putting in the effort like we all are, but at the same time, the GM is not obligated to give us anything. Nothing in the rules from what I've seen says that we have to do this or get anything in return from it. We're basically doing this because we like it and getting rewards thanks to the GM's generosity.

Something tells me he (Magoose) wants to see an actual in-story omake popping up more than prompts just to see something new to be interested in (which may explain the sudden request for a Negaverse Omake). I mean, look through the apocrypha tab and see how many "Non-Prompt Omakes" exist recently and compare it to the prompt omakes.

The last time he consistently made unique rewards relating to the omakes was really before the rolls reached the Hundreds in a rapid amount of turns. Sure he does them now and then, but I think that's just when he's in the mood and has a great inspiration moment to add into the Quest because it's interesting.

Good point. I have made some Omakes, but it's not something I can do regularly.

In the meantime, I've updated once more the List, hopefully it can remain up to date for now.

Edit: By the way, Magoose.

[]Agitha Christie Called, she wants her detective back (Some of Agatha christie fans saw the script, and think that its bad... and that means that people want it made)
[]A New Detective (You hope that this will be good)
[]I do not know (unknown effect)
I'll take this one as my reward.

I'm just frankly exhausted from the last few weeks of doctors and hospital visits that have been sapping me.

its been alot.

I'm gonna finishing drafting up my final response on the matter tomorrow, just so that I can get all my thoughts together and make my point as clear as I can before I drop the matter. Besides, it's late as fuck in Brazil and I'm tired, so I'll see ya'll tomorrow.

Louis Rossman is heavily breathing in a corner while giving you two a thumbs-up for this.
Indeed.

Too bad the actual reason for lightbulbs with more limited lifespans becoming dominant is that the ones that would last nigh-indefinitely were significantly dimmer as a result (in fact, just not working the filament as hard was most of the trick to their long lifespan, to my understanding), and people wanted brighter lights, with the shorter lifespan bulbs still lasting quite a while and not being so expensive as to cause issues.

Kind of undermines the message a bit.

Edit: I believe Technology Connections (or possibly his second channel, Technology Conextras) covered that in a video at some point.

There are so many things that you hear one way, then discover was very much different. Like why you need to add eggs into pre-mixed cake and such. As I heard somewhere that it was done because people weren't buying it because they didn't trust the mix, and corporate misunderstood as the wives feeling guilty for how easy it was, and decided to have the customer add eggs which happened to address the real concerns.

But reality was far simpler. The mixes were successful off the back of convenience and simplicity, just certain flavors like chocolate were subpar as the companies just couldn't figure out how to make it good. Until a new company, desperate to secure the support of the foodie of the era, after likewise failing and running out of time, resorted to making a concession on the fundamental selling point of the product type, using fresh eggs. Which worked, leading the other mix companies to follow suit, making customers adding eggs to the cake mix standard instructions.

One thing I learned is that it's now almost impossible to keep track on pitches or find the original post, since there are so many.

My suggestion is that: when there is a turn in which we can pick the movies and tv shows of that particular year, then whenever we make a plan with whatever we decide upon... we'll have a link to the original post.

...Or an easier plan, just have an Informational page just for every movie show and game pitches we came up with. This will take a long, long, LONG time to organize, but will eventually be more helpful in the long run. Of course, at that particular time period we'll all need to drastically cut down on pitches.

Also, can we have at the beginning or every year have a list of projects that will come out throughout the year? I can't follow on which shows or movies will come out when anymore.

There already is an informational page at the moment with the scripts which can be made (and I just updated). Thing is, not all pitches can be made until the writers use them to make them scripts (unless a reward makes thme so).

Also, the Apocrypha has an option that allows you to find movie and TV pitches if you recall at least part of the name, and if you need to specify as to whether a movie, a TV show, an anime or animated show, then you put said words and it should be easieer to look for.
