TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands.
To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.
I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.
I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.
I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all.
Ok, I can see why, but Predator will have a better home with us. Now, if your reason is because Fox has no franchises to speak of, well, there is a studio who just died (*Cough*Warner*Cough*) who just so happens to have had the rights for James Bond, Lethal Weapon, Police Academy, etc. and who might be looking for a new distributor.
Of course, I could probably make a Pitch about them, but I'm kind of busy at the moment. So, there is a chance there for Fox. If you want to give it to them that is...
I don't want to collaborate with them, I don't want to buy them. I want to compete with them, that's the difference that seems irreconciliable between us.
The thing is that TSR wasn't exactly raking in the dough at the time. Heck in 84 they were in debt and were running at a deficit*. If we put out games even half as profitable as cyberpunk was we might blow them out of the water.
*According to wiki and an article I read about their finances.
We talked about it before, so I just thought that I'd go ahead and make sure that'd still be made, but I thought I'd give it over to another studio since people didn't seem that interested in it, as well as the animated Rambo series that I managed to find. It's basically just budget G.I. Joe though, so I thought I'd just toss it over to someone else. I was going to go with Fox, but then Magoose dropped those rolls, so I think that I'm going to give them to United Artists, since I feel like they could really use something to bolster them since they have quite literally jack shit since we got Rocky. I also feel like the blatant G.I. Joe ripoff that the animated series is would line up well with what UA is doing right now, particularly under Sony. If you're wondering why I did it up to the second film, it's because the animated series seems to have taken direct inspiration from the second film.
United Artists Movie Pitch Rambo Directed by: Michael Cimino
SET UP: Vietnam veteran and drifter John J. Rambo wanders into a small Washington town in search of an old friend, but is met with intolerance and brutality by the local sheriff, Will Teasle. When Teasle and his deputies restrain and shave Rambo, he flashes back to his time as a prisoner of war and unleashes his fury on the officers. He narrowly escapes the manhunt, but it will take his former commander to save the hunters from the hunted.
Vietnam War veteran John Rambo goes to a lake house looking for an old comrade, only to learn his friend died of cancer over a year earlier, brought on by exposure to Agent Orange during the war. He offers his condolences to the soldier's widow for her loss and gives her a photo of the pair and the rest of their unit, Baker Team.
Continuing his travels, Rambo reaches the town of Hope, Washington. The sheriff, Will Teasle, heads him off and drives him to the outskirts of town, explaining that he considers it his job to keep drifters out of Hope. Neglecting the sheriff's warning, Rambo returns to Hope, prompting Teasle to arrest Rambo on charges of vagrancy, resisting arrest, and possessing a concealed knife. Led by the sadistic chief deputy Art Galt, Teasle's deputies abuse Rambo, triggering flashbacks of the torture he endured in Vietnam. When they try to dry shave him with a straight razor, Rambo snaps, fights his way out of the sheriff's station, regains his knife, and flees on a motorcycle into the woods. Teasle organizes a search party with rifles, dogs, and a helicopter.
Defying Teasle's orders, Galt attempts to shoot Rambo from the helicopter. Cornered on a high cliff, Rambo leaps into a tree, injuring his right arm. With Galt still shooting at him, Rambo throws a rock at the helicopter, cracking its windshield and causing the pilot to briefly lose control. Losing his balance, Galt falls to his death on the jagged rocks. Rambo tries to surrender to Teasle, reasoning that Galt's death was an accident and that he wants no more trouble, but the deputies shoot at him, and he flees. Other deputies warn Teasle that Rambo is a Green Beret, war hero, and Medal of Honor recipient, but Teasle swears revenge and continues the search.
Using booby traps and his bare hands, Rambo kills the dogs and non-lethally subdues all the deputies and captures Teasle, holding a knife to his throat and threatening war if he does not give up the pursuit, before retreating further into the woods. The Washington State Patrol and Washington National Guard are dispatched to assist Teasle, along with Rambo's mentor and former commanding officer, Colonel Sam Trautman. Trautman advises that Rambo should be allowed to escape to the next town to defuse the situation, then be permitted to surrender peacefully later, but Teasle, confident that Rambo is hopelessly outnumbered, refuses. Teasle allows Trautman to contact Rambo to persuade him to surrender, but Rambo refuses, condemning Teasle and his deputies for their abuse and citing that they "drew first blood".
At the entrance of an abandoned mine, a National Guard detachment corners Rambo. Ignoring Teasle's instructions to wait for his arrival, the guardsmen fire a rocket launcher, collapsing the entrance and seemingly killing Rambo. Rambo survives and, finding a way out, hijacks a military truck carrying an M60 machine gun and ammunition and returns to Hope to cause as much damage as possible. In an effort to distract the authorities, Rambo blows up a gas station, cuts power to most of the town, destroys a sporting goods store, and shoots up the sheriff's station. Trautman, understanding that Teasle is outmatched, tries again to convince him to leave Rambo be; Teasle ignores his orders and tries to hunt for Rambo on the station's roof, but is shot and wounded by him.
As Rambo prepares to kill Teasle, Trautman appears and warns Rambo that he will be killed unless he surrenders, reminding him that he is the last survivor of Baker Team. Rambo vents about the horrors of war and his traumatic experiences—watching his friends die in Vietnam, being treated poorly when returning home, being unable to hold a job, and being forgotten despite his sacrifices—and breaks down crying as he recounts how a good friend was killed by a Viet Cong child soldier using a shoeshiner box wired with explosives. After being comforted by Trautman, Rambo surrenders and is taken into federal custody, while Teasle is taken to a waiting ambulance for transport to the hospital.

United Artists Movie Pitch Rambo: First Blood Part II Directed by: Michael Cimino
SET UP: John Rambo is doing hard time in jail when his former boss, Col. Troutman, offers him a deal. If Rambo travels to Vietnam to try to find the American prisoners of war, his criminal record will be expunged. Rambo takes the reconnaissance assignment and agrees not to get involved in any of the action. However, when his Vietnamese lover, Co Bao, is killed by American forces, Rambo forgets his promise and takes matters into his own hands.
Three years after the events in Hope, Washington, former U.S. Army Green Beret John Rambo is imprisoned at a penal labor facility. He is met by Colonel Sam Trautman, his commanding officer during the Vietnam War. Trautman explains that the U.S. government is under pressure because of reports that POWs are still being held in Vietnam. To placate the public, a solo infiltration mission has been approved. Rambo agrees to take the mission in exchange for a pardon.
Rambo and Trautman arrive in Thailand, where they meets helicopter pilot Ericson, his partner Lifer, and Marshall Murdock, the bureaucrat overseeing the operation. He is instructed to take pictures of a suspected POW camp, but not to engage enemy personnel or attempt a rescue. Rambo confides to Trautman that he is the only person involved whom Rambo trusts.
During his aerial insertion, Rambo's parachute gets caught. He is forced to cut himself free and jettison most of his gear, leaving him with only with knives and a bow and arrow. His assigned contact, Vietnamese intelligence agent Co Bao, arranges for local river pirates to take them upriver. Rambo reaches the Vietnamese camp, which is commanded by Captain Vinh and Lieutenant Tay. Rambo confirms the presence of POWs. Against orders, he frees a POW named Banks.
Rambo, Co, and Banks attempt to withdraw, but the river pirates betray them as a Vietnamese gunboat closes in. Rambo kills the pirates and disables the gunboat with an RPG. Shortly before reaching an extraction point, Rambo and Banks separate from Co. Under mortar attack, they are spotted by Trautman aboard a rescue helicopter with Ericson and Lifer. Trautman informs base, but Murdock responds by ordering Ericson to abort the rescue. Lifer prevents Trautman from interfering as the crew abandons Rambo and Banks, who are captured by the Vietnamese. Confronted by Trautman upon his return to base, Murdock reveals that the mission was a sham. Any evidence of POWs would have been ignored, as the discovery would have forced the United States to expend resources securing their release.
At the POW camp, Rambo finds that the Vietnamese are being assisted by the Soviet military. Soviet liaison Lieutenant Colonel Podovsky and his right-hand man, Sergeant Yushin, abuse and interrogate Rambo. Podovsky demands that he broadcast a message to Murdock discouraging further rescue missions. Rambo refuses and is tortured with electric shocks. He finally relents when Banks is brought in and threatened with eye-gouging. Rambo dials in a secret radio frequency to contact his base and uses the opportunity to threaten Murdock. He then overpowers his captors and escapes the camp with the help of Co, who has infiltrated the camp. Co attends to Rambo's wounds, the two kiss, and Rambo agrees to take her to the United States. They immediately encounter enemy soldiers, and Co is fatally shot by Lieutenant Kay. Rambo returns fire, then promises a dying Co that he will remember her. He buries her, cutting a red headband from her dress and donning her necklace.
Rambo stealthily kills the soldiers pursuing him and kills Tay with an explosive-tipped arrow. Yushin attacks him from a helicopter. When it comes close to the ground, Rambo emerges from a pool of water and climbs on board. He throws Yushin to his death, hijacks the helicopter, and uses it to attack the POW camp. He frees Banks and several other POWs. They board the captured helicopter, but they are pursued by Podovsky in a Mil Mi-24 attack helicopter. Rambo fakes a crash to trick Podovsky, then kills him by destroying his helicopter with a rocket launcher.
Rambo and the POWs return to base. Rambo hits Ericson for abandoning him, then angrily fires a machine gun into the mission control room. He threatens Murdock and demands that other POWs be rescued. Trautman tries to convince Rambo to return to a peaceful life at home. Rambo refuses, saying he wants the U.S. to care about its soldiers before walking away.

@Schehera Zade , perhaps make a few adjustments so that it does not look like its re-opening old wounds just as they are scabbing?
Perhaps, in the first one, make it so that it happens before the O'Brian Foundation is founded so that it helps explain why Rambo did not get help from them.
In the second, perhaps instead of Rambo going to Vietnam to look for missing POWs, have him be shown to be re-habilitating thank to help from the O'Biran Foundation, but still having to deal with his own demons. Then he has to go to Vietnam not to find POWs, but to help in deal with a Pro-Communist group that is trying to stop Vietnam from getting an accord with the U.S. This then has Rambo face his own trauma in order to do what's right, and perhaps even have a partner that fought in the war, but now have them fight together, having to learn to trust each other.

I felt that would've been implied, though just because it exists, it doesn't mean that everyone's going to be able to get the help they need for whatever reason ranging from some asshole volunteer that turned them away to their case being too severe to the science just not being advanced enough to help this particular individual to some people just straight up not going for help. I don't really think that it'd be a problem.

I'll be real man, I really don't want to write out plot adjustments that are that extensive, especially since it's past 1:00 am right now and I still need to finish my cast list for the Red Dead Redemption pitch. I guess I can include a little addendum that says that the plot has been adjusted towards that, but there's no way in hell that I'm writing that out right now. Although I'd have to check about whether or not that fucks with the later Rambo movies.
You know, when looking back at the Smurfs and their creator an amazing thing occurred. I found out that there was another work that was nearly as famous, and was done beforehand! Well, okay, nearly as famous might be stretching it, but it was still something that the author seemed to love doing, and in the end had to put aside because the Smurfs explosive popularity had him work on both, screenplays for the TV Show, and more adventures for them that just soaked up his entire time. It's a shame because Johan and Peewit seem like just the kind of adventure cartoon that would have been fun for children to watch, adding both adventure and action, along with intrigue and mystery.
I think however that now we can give him the chance to work on said comic once more; there is now a greater interest in serialized storytelling in cartoons, which Johan and Peewit could certainly do with the adventures lasting perhaps 2 or even three episodes each. not to mention how all the HEMA enthusiasm could also translate into enthusiasm for a cartoon/series where a medieval period, with all its mores, arms and ways of fighting are shown in all its glory (for a PG audience of course).
Set Up: Based on the Belgian comic series Johan et Pirlouit created by Pierre Culliford ("Peyo") in 1947. Set in the Middle Ages in an unnamed European kingdom, the series follows the adventures of Johan, a brave young page to the King, and Peewit, his faithful, if boastful and cheating, midget sidekick. Johan rides off in search of adventure with his trusty horse Bayard, while Peewit gallops sporadically, and grudgingly, behind on his goat, Biquette. The pair are driven by duty to their King and the courage to defend the underpowered. Struggles for power between deposed lords and usurping villains form the basis of many of the plots which also contain elements of detective fiction as the pair hunt down traitors and outlaws, as well as fantasy, with witches and sorcerers, giants, ghosts and, occasionally, the Smurfs.
Animation: Hannah-Barbera Studios Series Director: Bob Hathcock Writer: Rich Fogel Length: 5-6 Seasons
Johan: He is a squire and servant of the King. Courageous and skilled with both a sword and a bow, this black-haired hero aspires to becoming a knight. Johan is very well-mannered - following the knight's code of chivalry - serious, logically thinking, and mature. He is the quintessential bold fighter, always ready to be in the thick of it, and a natural leader. Johan is quick to intervene whenever he sees an injustice being committed and will go all the way to rectify wrongs, ignoring Peewit's grumblings about the problems that they are going to face in the process. He rides around on a white horse named Bayard.
Played By: Cam Clarke Alternate: Michael Bell
Peewit: He is a blond, gluttonous dwarf. He lived in the forest neighboring the King's castle playing practical jokes on the people and stealing meats and apples before being hired as the court jester. He agreed, provided that he was not obliged to wear the jester's outfit, which he felt made him look like a "fool". Contrary to what he believes himself, Peewit is a terrible musician, his "music" having been known to cause rain. Peewit is easily upset, especially when Johan volunteers him to go on another adventure but, being cunning and agile, he is quite capable of escaping from a tight corner and putting up a fight. When outwitting his enemies, he screams out his cry of triumph: "Peeeewiiiiit!".
Played By: Rene Auberjonois Alternate: Rob Paulsen
The King: He is the unnamed monarch of the Kingdom. He is somewhat carefree and enjoys wine but is also firm and is loved by his subjects and vassals. He has a beautiful niece, but no direct descendants. He can be very keen to go on expeditions and battles — which can be difficult given his old age.
Played By: Peter Renaday Alternate: Lou Scheimer
Homnibus: He is an enchanter whom the heroes often consult on matters of magic. He is also an alchemist and herbalist, and is routinely consulted in such matters when the pair need his help. It is he who first tells Johan and Peewit about the beings called the Smurfs, being a friend of Papa Smurf, whom he usually collaborated when it comes to magical affairs, or just to play chess.
Played By: Wally Burr Alternate: Earl Hammond
Princess Anne: She is the niece to the King. She is pretty but hates lady-like things, preferring the rough and tumble life of knights and fighting. She is an excellent marksman, and on more than one occasion has been known to sneak out of the castle, either on adventures of her own (which have Johan and Peewit going after her) or just to see the town outside the castle.
Played By: Heather North Alternate: Jennifer Darling
Count Treville: He is a skilled knight and brave warrior, a friend and role model to Johan, and is shown to be very good at jousting. He is tall, thin, and blonde.
Played By: Peter Newman
Lady Barbara: He is an old aristocratic woman who resides in the King's castle, always wearing a green dress. She has a reputation for being a gossip, as well as being somewhat prideful and stuck-up.
Played By: Linda Gary
Rachel: She is an old sorceress, who has a terrible reputation, but is actually very kind and helpful. She knows how to make many different potions, including a mixture called Wine of Giddiness.
Played By: Gerrianne Raphael
Oliver: He is Homnibus' young servant. A clumsy and easily spooked young man, who also tends to have the worst luck when it comes to being near the Alchemist's concoctions, always being in the blast radius when they explode.
Played By: Jerry Dexter
The Smurfs: They are little blue human-like creatures that live in a small mushroom-house village hidden within a forest, the exact location of which is unknown to all but Smurfs. They appear in several stories as Johan and Peewit's allies.
A.N.: My thanks to @Carcer for the idea and the initial pitch. I've put the length for this series to be around 5 to 6 seasons, because if The Smurfs can get around nearly a decade in the air, then I think Johan and Peewit can get at the very least half of that. I see this series as being one that is more serialized, and with longer arcs than the Smurfs' one. Plus, if this works out, then perhaps we can get a greater appreciation for outside comics, which would mean a greater chance to get The Eternaut or Mort Cinder for the future.
Then feel free to just go with your plans, it doesn't really matter to me. I only listed United Artists because people didn't seem enthusiastic about Lucasfilm making it, you made that roll for Fox, and the animated Rambo series was a clear ripoff. Just go ahead and disregard it going to United Artists if you'd like. I can just give them some other shit for franchises.

No, that's another Belgian known as René Goscinny who we tried to talk and get the rights for Asterix. This one is the one that made the Smurfs and has a deal with Hannah-Barbera to make a series of it for September of this year.

It should be. There's nothing that should have chamged that much to make the deal dissapear. If anything, ownership by Lucasfilms, and the new legendary animation that we can bring to the table should have only enhanced it in the eyes of Stuart R. Ross (He has the North American rights to the characters).
I figure we enter in our own deal with Peyo to make Johan and Peewit and we can have fun crossovers between the series'.

What do you mean there's no Stupendium song it's right there, no self respecting gentlemen would tarnish their honor by forgetting that musical masterpiece, your just seeing things
I think this would make for an excellent series (though I would have probably made it an Anime) and it perfectly contrasts with another idea I pitched (Liberty's Crystal Skeleton) as it shows a post-apocalyptic world and how humanity adapts to it. Though mine mostly focus on the aftermath, but this one would be great to show some environmental storytelling as well.

I mean how can we show off our Bruce wading through litteral blizzards for his kids if it was in anime. If Keanu or Ford want to take our crown as the Action king they should be able to handle near zero. Although if we do this stunt Carrie will have our heads choices-choices.
