You looked at the news on the TV and felt nothing. It was just another day in the life. You were still trapped in a compound of your own creation, fearing for your life as you quietly and desperately wanted the horror to end.
You just wanted your life to stop being a James Bond movie, because it wasn't fun or exciting, and had a happy ending, it was terrifying and filled with nothing but quiet and broken moments of introspection where you had to ask yourself what was wrong.
It was hard enough trying to connect to your children and reconnect with the woman you loved after such horrifying encounters that just would not stop playing in your mind.
But you had received a call from someone you didn't know, though you suspected it was one of the many agents who knew about everything that happened was going to change to the better.
So you turned on the TV and saw the Oval Office of the White House on screen, and that was a sight indeed.
