Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Y'know, this pitch kinda gives me "Puppet History" vibes - just from a more broader perspective of the times, rather than about any less known notable/interesting figures.

I remebered there was a thread in AH asking how would a 50's society would react to youtube imagine if instead of OTL youtube it was TTL youtube imagine the soviet union reaction to seeing how one goose embarresed and humiliated them.

Alright, now I'm interested; do you remember the title? I honestly love things like this.

If somehow somebody manage to film Bruce with his friends and family celebrating a christmass party. How much money are the press willing to give

To be honest, I always made the animated films with the intention of them being musicals in the vein of Disney movies. So, yeah, both Hiawatha and John Henry also have songs and musicals. As well as the other animated films and pitches too, unless the Director says something against it.

The OVAs and Animes though, that's a whole other can of worms.

Okay, I added in Hiawatha and John Henry that they were musicals though in the future, if an animated film is explicitly a musical I'd like it mentioned in the subgenre section.

Does this mean that the guys at Blue Sky are crunching? If so I feel sorry for them because there is a big chance that it won't be a huge succes like Dreamworks and Disney have due to this being their first movie (I think) and it being rushed due to crunch.

Not too sure. I remember that for the Hanna-Barbera Omake that one of the rewards was Blue Sky Studios not doing too great, so I can only assume even if they're not crunching that they're not making anything amazing either, probably the similar quality to OTL's Ice Age at best. I said it before and I'll say it again, but it's a shame that Illumination wasn't chosen for Universal's studio because they fit the Universal model so perfectly.

Moonlight Dinner Rolls:

Production Roll:D100 + 25 => 103 (Well that went well. You got the film done in two weeks)

Film Quality:D100 + 250 => 347

Directing Quality:D100 + 100 => 196

Bruce continues to prove himself to be an amazing director and we just made a newfound horror icon and staple, the defenitive werewolf movie. Really happy we got everything done in two weeks so that way Bruce can be there for the twins birth and help Carrie as much as he can with them while still being a good Dad to Mary. Looks like we can have six months of parenting and then Bruce goes to Hong Kong with Brandon and can be home for Christmas and Mary's birthday.

How did the cast generally enjoy the filming? Also why no Jennifer Beals actions?

SP
Bruce O'Brian:D100 + 650 => 744
Sean Young:D100 + 150 => 245

Chemistry:
Bruce O'Brian/Sean Young D100 + 150 => 250
Well I guess we know who Bruce would have married if he never met Carrie in the library, lol. I guess Carrie wrote Raven explicitly for her but then it ended up with Sean who got along REALLY GOOD with Bruce. Thus confirms my theory that Bruce is either super into brunettes or he has a Harrison Ford love interest fetish. Must need to do further research.

Also it's nice that Sean had such a standout performance. Looking at her bio, and man she got fucked over hard by Hollywood time after time again so her building a place with Lucasfilms and already being in our good graces thanks to Blade Runner and Moonlight Diner will do wonders for her career. Certainly wouldn't mind Bruce working with her again, maybe Sean can be his go to love interest if Carrie is indisposed, lol.

Joseph O'Brian:D100 + 140 => 240
Bruce O'Brian/Joseph O'BrianD100 +70 => 82

Hot Damn, Bruce really showed that his acting was genetic like Carrie with Joseph definitely going above and beyond for his roll with that nat 100. I guess he really vibed with the part and this will help him permanently get rid of his Hollywood funk. Shame about chemistry, I guess they don't interact much or Joseph was having a hard time treating Bruce as someone other than his son.

Man Sean carried hard for someone his age, perfect child actor. This is pretty good cause he's one of the Goonies and Samwise so nic

Really hope we make Flashdance cause Jennifer knocked it out of the park for her first major role at 16. Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson produced Flashdance so hopefully it should be the same here. Also Lucasfilms does great for diversity by having a young black actress as the protagonist of the film.

George Kennedy:D100 + 100 => 181
Diana Muldaur:D100 + 100 => 181

Something really wholesome about the actors playing the husband and wife having the exact same screen presence roll.

The VFX:
D100 + 50 => 94
The SFX:
D100 + 50 => 100
The Music:
D100 + 50 => 120
The Creature:
D100 + 50 => 87
Everything Else:
D100 + 50 => 116
The Location
D100 + 50 => 56

We got carried hella hard with all of these production rolls thanks to the +50.

I can already see the tabloids rushing to publish the "BREAKING HEADLINE NEWS OF BRUCE O'BRIAN'S TORRID LOVE AFFAIR WITH SEAN YOUNG: CARRIE O'BRIAN LEFT WEEPING AT BETRAYAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" :V

Considering how scummy the tabloids are and the powerful chemistry, I can easily imagine this being on the front of trashy supermarket magazines.

Didn't Warner for a time make the Loney Tunes?

And Tom and jerry were a thing?

Yeah although no one was ever Disney's equal in cinematic animation.

By the way Magoose, how are the Looney Tunes being integrated into the Disney family? Do the main Disney characters like Mickey and Donald appear in Looney Tunes shorts and vice versa? I can easily see Daffy being integrated into Duck Tales as a wacky cousin. Also makes me think there'll be an episode of House of Mouse where the Looney Tunes run the show while the Disney gang go on vacation.

Also I looked up Tom and Jerry, and it turns out that Hanna-Barbera don't own them, MGM does. Considering Kirk just doesn't give a shit, I'm hoping we can make a deal to buy Tom and Jerry in the next couple of years. Would be great to have them as Dreamworks mascots and we can revive the cinematic shorts where we play them before every Dreamworks movie. Plus imagine all the Tom and Jerry straight to DVD crossovers with Lucasfilms properties. Tom and Jerry in Star Wars, Tom and Jerry in Indiana Jones, etc.

He can affect who becomes vp. If he really wants to.

Eh I'm fine with Bush Sr. Guy was the perfect person to unify the Republican party and as a moderate conservative he balances out Reagan in ideology and practice. Plus he was a damn good President, only major flaw was that his son and namesake became President. If it comes down to that I'm will to have Bruce go all out on supporting Forbes or McCain in 2000.

As cool as this movie will likely be, there's no way that it's going to be seen as the definitive werewolf movie. Even if it was literally the best movie ever made, it still would only be second to the Universal Monsters "The Wolf Man" film. That movie practically single handedly created the modern werewolf along with the common werewolf tropes. No way that we're beating that.

No prob. Any animated movie from this point on will have a "Musical" in the Sub-Genre.

Lon Chaney Jr. also played a key role when he knocked it our of the park with his performance as the Wolf Man, to the point that, unlike the other monster movies, Universal refused to change the actor for the monster when it came to him.

I honestly just didn't feel like it, and forgot.
Thus confirms my theory that Bruce is either super into brunettes or he has a Harrison Ford love interest fetish. Must need to do further research.
Indeed... Though i think he's just into Brunettes.

But he's a good boy so he isn't going to be cheating on Carrie.

Yep. Though I think she has a fine career that just peaked early... and made some poor choices.

Joseph O'Brian is many things.

He's a god tier actor among his many talents.

Though I will say this. when the 90's roll around, expect him to come and ask a few questions and make a few films/mini series for him.

He wants Korea to be remembered better than with comedies and whatever Chinese propaganda is shitting out.
Man Sean carried hard for someone his age, perfect child actor. This is pretty good cause he's one of the Goonies and Samwise so nic
Sean is going to be doing well. We can only hope that Hollywood dosen't chew him up and spit him out like so many others.
Considering how scummy the tabloids are and the powerful chemistry, I can easily imagine this being on the front of trashy supermarket magazines.
I'm not going to roll, but man will that be trashy, especially since Bruce is celebrating the birth of his kids.

But thats the tabloids.

They are... seprate but interact a lot more with new cartoons.

With the House of mouse being the more respectful courteous and Disney... while the Looney Tunes are... the Looney Tunes. Its' hilarious to think that they are different but similer.

Though Dafey gets a little more luck now, with Donald Duck being his on-again, off-again side kick... or vise versa.

Also in the Duck Comics, Don Rosa made Dafey into... well he's heroic, but he has his moments.

Also Scrooge McDuck might be his employer.

You can try in 82... lets leave it at that.

And it will be fun.

Lets wait until the convention.

thanks to Blade Runner
Speaking of, @Magoose, when is that being released?
No prob. Any animated movie from this point on will have a "Musical" in the Sub-Genre.
Not mine. None of mine are musicals, and I will specify if they are otherwise.

Edit: I misread what you said. I thought you said that all animated movies in the Apocrypha section were musicals, which obviously includes my own that aren't musicals. Apologies for the misunderstanding.
that his son and namesake
Incredibly pedantic of me, but it can't be his namesake if it's his son. Namesake implies that it's where they got their name so saying that Bush Jr was the namesake of Bush Sr doesn't make sense.

Make a Band of Brothers style mini series before Band of Brothers is a thing. Make Korea something other than The Forgotten War.

Maybe also something for WW1 before the last of the Lost Generation dies out.

I had a great Uncle who was in Korea. Never really talked about his time there. Other than one story about how his barracks was mortered when he was sleeping and he survived by rolling off his bed down to the floor and pulled his mattress over himself.

For president, not as much, regan is a shoe in right now.

He can affect who becomes vp. If he really wants to.

But he can electrify republican voters and really dictate policy with his speech at the national convention if he wants to.
The single most important thing Bruce O'Brien will do in his political career is gut Reagan's push to remove the social services that assisted him. In doing so, he'll prevent the formation of the Tea Party.

...hey Magoose, how successful were the soundtracks for these films, and, for that matter, for anything else we made?

Anything go platinum?

It captures the essence of her remarkable life, transporting listeners to a world of adventure, passion, and unyielding defiance against the odds.

A/N: Decided to do something a little different this time and introduce Carrie's second metal album, again purely based on the image of Carrie being a scream queen, Bruce just absolutely shredding it on guitar to support his wife, Robin having a blast jamming out with his friends and Jon playing bass and singing backup with Bruce, absolutely confused by the direction the band went in after the success of Carrie's last album, but supportive and glad to be included.

Less important is the idea that because Jack Sparrow is a semi-historical figure in this timeline (being the unnamed man to stand with Anne Bonney and Mary Read), he's referenced in 'The Final Stand'.

Now if we only had a thing that could give bonus too chemistry.

I would mind investing in more things but I have no idea what. Also expand something in studio, but again do not know what.

Carrie will be producing it.

[]Roll For Power! (Carrie releases the album, and gets a d100 to see how it... does)
[]Oh This is awesome (Carrie becomes a Scream Queen it is as awesome as it sounds)
[]Awesome power. (Unknown Effect)
Nice, thank you.

While I'm tempted to go number 2 (heh) and intrigued by three, narratively I think one's most appropriate.
