TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands.
To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.
I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.
I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.
I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all.
Well, I would like the first pitch to be a procedural drama.
TV Show Pitch:Narc
Genre: Police Procedural/Action/Crime Drama
Format: TV Show (22 Episodes)
Set up and Premise: The show follows the L.A. Gangs and Narcotics Unit as they have to work and fight against the flow of drugs into the streets by South American Cartels and sold by local gangs. The characters also have to deal with the problems in their own personal lives and how their work endagers themselves and their loved ones from the wrath of the gangs of L.A.
Brian Bennings: The head of Gang and Narcotics unit, he is a tough and by-the-books cop who garners respect from his peers. He is a former Vietnam veteran who was traumatized by the war and sees his job as another war. While he isn't afraid to fire a gun, he prefers killing to be the last resort.
Played By: James Caan Alternate: Carl Weathers
Mark Smith: A young and unruly officer who recently joined the Narcotics Unit, he is reckless, impatient and eager to prove himself. He takes the job personally as his brother is a heroine addict and he wishes to do his best to help him. While he is quick to action, he isn't stupid; he's aware of his surroundings and is incredibly well at improvising. He clashes the most with Bennings during the job.
Played By: Bill Paxton Alternate: Michael Biehn
Tanisha Williamson: A gruff and experience member of the unit, she has to deal with being a single mother of a young boy in a tough neighborhood run by gangs as she desires to make sure no child has to grow up in a harsh home like she did. She is the most compassionate member of the squad, especially towards kids and teenagers.
Played By: Pam Grier Alternate: Melba Moore
Henry Cho: An officer who is responsible over the administration of the unit and usually tends to prefer to stay inside the department. He is a nervous jokster who lightens the mood if things turn too sour. He has the most stable family life among the unit with a wife and five kids, which is why he is always so concerned for their safety.
Played By: James Hong Alternate: Mako Iwamatsu
Gilbert Berg: LAPD Chief of Police. He is an ambitious glory hound and a good friend of Bennings, but the two argue often whenever a potential case of good publicity gets in the way of the case. However, he does care about the city of L.A. and its people.
Played By: Paul Winfield Alternate: Roy Scheider
Julian Graves: A prostitute and informant of the Gangs and Narcotics unit who desires to leave her life on the streets behind her, even if it means giving information to the cops.
Played By: Holly Hunter Alternate: Nastassja Kinski
Christopher "Chris" Smith: Mark's brother, he is a heroine addict who constantly falls on and off the wagon. He is a good man who has a hard time dealing with his addiction and slowly gets into more and more trouble.
Played By: Michael Bien Alternate: Bill Paxton
Michael Williamson: Tanisha's 9 years old son, he is a boy who is heavily impressed by the gangsters in his neighborhood but also wants to please his mother, even if he doesn't always like it.

So this is all I have for the first show. I hope you guys enjoy this pitch.
Well, if anything this proves how in the end Scoddby-Doo is all that matters. Seriously, I just didn't feel anything from the Flintstones (except for the movies) or the Jetsons, and I feel Johnny Quest is a bit overrated to be honest. But if we need to buy it all to get the prize gem then so be it.
It really doesn't, given that up until recently Scooby-Doo has had mostly competent producers and showrunners [how you can have a Scooby-Doo show without Scooby is- moving on] which is a fairly easy enough fix on our end for the rest of those franchises, and Johnny Quest essentially having a sequel series in The Venture Brothers, are both enough of a reason, beyond syndication, for me to acquire the studio wholesale.
Like, here's a half-decent idea for pitch for a Yogi Bear movie about enviromentalism:
Yogi Bear: Fire Patrol [ Animation | Dramedy ]
Logline:
When the Jellystone Park faces a devastating forest fire caused by a careless camper during a prolonged dry spell, Yogi Bear must team up with his cousin, Smokey, a hotshot firefighter, to save their beloved home. Together, they must outsmart nature's wrath, battle the flames, and teach the lazy camper a valuable lesson about fire safety and environmental responsibility.
Synopsis:
Movie starts with regular Yogi Bear shenanigans, about him discovering campers are getting smart about his ways and putting up their food in bear bags up in the trees and him trying to get around it all. Eventually, in the middle of this Park Ranger John comes up to him, letting him know that Yogi's cousin is stopping by: Smokey, and he's glad that at least he has a role model to aspire to now rather than being a picnic their.
As Yogi and Smokey reunite, talking about their days as cubs, Smokey, a dedicated hotshot firefighter, gets a notice that one of the camper's fires has broken out, leading to John and Smokey making there way over there, John just doing his job and Smokey there to educate. Yogi, not one to be ignored, chases after them, and stumbles on the lazy camper who carelessly neglected to extinguish their campfire properly. As fate would have it, the wind picks up, and the smoldering embers quickly escalate into a raging forest fire.
Smokey, alerted to the situation, rushes to the scene, only to find Yogi in the middle of the chaos. Recognizing the need for a unique approach to contain the fire, Smokey enlists Yogi's help, realizing that Yogi's resourcefulness and cunning can be vital in saving the park.
As the fire spreads rapidly, threatening wildlife and endangering the park's visitors, Yogi and Smokey form an unlikely but dynamic duo. Yogi's mischievous nature is now repurposed to outwit the fire and protect those in harm's way. Drawing on their shared family bond, Yogi and Smokey work tirelessly to battle the flames, employing Yogi's clever tricks and Smokey's expert firefighting skills.
Their journey is not only a thrilling race against time but also an opportunity to deliver a crucial message about fire safety and environmental responsibility. Yogi and Smokey encounter various obstacles, including treacherous terrain, collapsing trees, and dwindling resources. Along the way, they teach the lazy camper the importance of fire prevention and the catastrophic consequences of negligence.
As the fire reaches its peak, Yogi and Smokey face their greatest challenge yet. They must rally the park's inhabitants, both human and animal, to come together and create a firebreak, using their collective strength and ingenuity. The climax showcases the power of unity and the resilience of nature.
And that's just with Yogi Bear, there's so much else we can do with the rest of these characters and their franchises.
Alright, now it's time for my second pitch. Now, I actually have an idea that, in case we ever create our own TV channel or even Cartoon Network, I want to have educational shows for younger audience that teaches them somethings, which is why I wanted to do Dora the Explorer as a TV pitch, but that's not what I'm doing right now.
TV Pitch: A-Jay the Linguistic Squirrel Genre: Educational
Format: Animated TV Show
Premise: The show follows A-Jay, a friendly, chipper and cute animated squirrel who knows countless languages as he teaches the audience watching the show how to speak new languages from the ground up to advanced levels. Depending on each day, he teaches a different language:
On Monday he teaches English.
On Tuesday he teaches Chinese (Mandarin).
On Wednesday he teaches Spanish
On Thursday he teaches Romanian.
On Friday he teaches Vietnamese.
On Saturday he teaches Italian.
On Sunday he teaches Japanese.
The show generally uses pictures and animation to describe the words and then A-Jay translates them to the learned language, emphasizing pronounciation and upon reaching more advanced stages, spelling.
Each language will have its own dub, allowing other populations to have an easier time learning these languages. Of course, every actor voicing A-Jay would have to study these languages beforehand to learn how to know all the rules of pronounciation and spelling beforehand.
The episodes are 20 minutes long and are compact and to-the-point, while trying to make it fun as well to keep kids coming back for more.
This is my second pitch, a cute, family friendly animated show to teach both children and adults new languages. While I haven't took the time to learn new languages myself, I always adored the idea and I would love to have more shows that teach people other languages. In this alternate universe there are now more immegrants and this show is an idea to help people learn how to communicate with other people or letting these new family of immegrants have an easier time learning English.
My idea is that every morning before school or work, the family can sit down and watch a 20 minutes episode that teaches them a new language in an educational way, which they can all practice together.
If I do the Dora the Explorer pitch, then that just adds to the idea that young children will have 2 animated cartoons to teach them something: one problem solving, counting and Spanish, while the other teaches them more ways to talk to people.
What do you guys think about the pitch and my idea in general? I know it's a very simplistic idea but I just love imagining it: a show that helps make America more multi-lingual than it already is.
@Orion Ultor Since your version of the Mystery Gang was formed as a rock group, do you have any ideas of doing a crossover with Josie and the Pussycats since they are primarily a rock group and their whole show is basically the same as your movies except there's no mystery or supernatural, just action and adventure.
@Orion Ultor Since your version of the Mystery Gang was formed as a rock group, do you have any ideas of doing a crossover with Josie and the Pussycats since they are primarily a rock group and their whole show is basically the same as your movies except there's no mystery or supernatural, just action and adventure.
I mean, I wasn't thinking about it, but if I had to bring them into a crossover, one of the ideas I was toying with is a slightly modified version of their KISS crossover, with the opening act of the crossover being about the Music Festival where the Hex Girls, Mystery Inc., Pussycats, and maybe one other band playing there with KISS as the main event.
So, I was just surfing through the net when I heard about this Manga that was getting an adaptation. And this manga was an adaptation of one of Osamu Tezuka's old arcs in his seminal Manga Astro Boy. Specifically, the "Greatest Robot on Earth" Arc. Well, I read said arc and found it to be a masterpiece...how does Tezuka manage to imbue such emotion and care for the characters in such a small chapter I'll never know. Just reading a manga from 50 years ago made me feel even more excited for the new adaptation, which I began reading as soon as I finished the previous one.
And I could not drop it until the end. Pluto is one of the most beautiful, respectful, and poignant deconstruction/reconstruction that I've ever read. The care they put into each and every character, the mystery surrounding Pluto, and the philosophical discussion on what truly makes a "Perfect" robot...it was magnificent. If there was any criticism I could bring, it would be the art and drawings. Sure, it works well when it comes to Plut, giving it a more monstruous design, but I felt that it made some of the designs look a bit flat. Though the Seven robots are amazing in and of themselves, both Astro Boy/Atom and Uran looked a bit bland, though it's not something that can't be fixed with our level of animation, and skilled animators at Sunrise.
Not to mention that Tezuka is alive at the moment. If we can get his approval then this would mean so much more than in OTL. I feel he would like it, he did mention that he wished he had been able to give more backstory or write more about the robots during this arc, so in a way we could be fulfilling one of his wishes.
Thus, I give you:
Anime Pitch: Astro Boy: Pluto
GENRE: Adventure/Mystery/Thriller
SUBGENRE: Psychological/Science Fiction
FORMAT: Anime
Set Up: Based on the Character created by Osamu Tezuka. The story is an adaptation of "The Greatest Robot on Earth" arc in the manga. Astro Boy is one of the "Seven Greatest Robots on Earth", in a period where robots and humans co-exist, yet underneath it there is tension as the difference between both shrink day by day. This fragile state of coexistence is threatened as both humans and robots are being killed, and the only answers lie in the actions taken during the Central Asian War where all Seven Robots were involved in some way or another.
Animation: Sunrise Studios/DreamWorks Series Director: Mamoru Oshii Writer: Yoshiyuki Tomino
Astro Boy/Atom: He is a robot male with human emotions created by former Science Ministry director Umataro Tenma. Astro is the embodiment of a hero, having a strong sense of justice and is always willing to defend the helpless. Despite his numerous amazing powers, Astro is a natural pacifist, usually attempting to solve problems in a diplomatic matter. He only resorts to fighting as an absolute last resort, and very rarely does he ever go past that point. Astro has a deep love for humanity, in spite of the many hardships he may face. He was part of the peacekeeping forces in the 39th Central Asian Conflict.
Seiyuu: Mayumi Tanaka Alternate: Masako Nozawa
Montblanc: He is robot mountain guide from Switzerland who is one the seven strongest robots in the world. While chopping wood, he met and was destroyed by Pluto. Montblanc's pieces were soon found and the whole world mourned him. A news report described him as a mountaineering, forest service robot, he was very popular with children and hikers and "a great boon to Swiss tourism." It was also said that he restored stability to Persian states, captured terrorists, and brought peace to Asia. It is later revealed he was killed due his involvement in the 39th Central Asian Conflict, he was a member of the peace keeping forces.
Seiyuu: Shōzō Iizuka Alternate: Kei Tomiyama
North #2: He is one of the strongest robots in the world. He is a beetle-like butler robot with six mechanical arms, which can change into fearsome weapons. North serves as the new butler of Paul Duncan. Despite his many attempts at helping his master, Paul would often criticize him and call him a worthless machine, which cut North deeply since he never wanted to kill those robots during the 39th Central Asian Conflict. North and Paul eventually bond, with Paul teaching him how to play the piano, before the arrival of Pluto. North #2 thus goes to fight once more in order to protect his friend.
Seiyuu: Shūichi Ikeda Alternate: Kōichi Hashimoto
Brando: He is a Turkish wrestling robot who participated in the 39th Central Asian Conflict. He is a big burly robot that, when he enters his wrestling suit, has the ability to spin at high velocity and turn into a deadly sphere that grinds up anything it comes in contact with. Brando has a wife and five human children they adopted. After a visit from Gesicht warning him about Pluto, Brando prepares himself to avenge the death of his friend, Montblanc. Brando is defeated after being taken to the bottom of the ocean, but Pluto is severely damaged afterwards, making Brando one of the few robots that were strong enough to even damage Pluto.
Seiyuu: Tesshō Genda Alternate: Ryō Horikawa
Gesicht: He is a German humanoid detective working for Europol. His body is made out of an alloy called "Zeronium", and he is capable of firing a devastating blast using the alloy as shell. He has a wife named Helena, also a humanoid robot. His attempts to solve the case of a string of robot and human deaths lead him down a path where he discovers that his memories may have been tampered at some point in time. The case becomes even more puzzling though, when evidence suggests a robot is responsible for the murders, the first one in eight years, as well as their targets being the robots who participated in the 39th Central Asia War...including himself.
Seiyuu: Akira Kamiya Alternate: Toshio Furukawa
Hercules: He is a Greek robot pankration wrestler with a high sense of honor and bravery. He has been friends and rivals with Brando since the 39th Central Asian War. Though he possesses emotions, he does not completely understand them. He's visited by Epsilon after the dead of Brando and Montblanc, though he can only express scorn for her. Despite the warning of both Epsilon and Gesicht, he nonetheless goes on to face Pluto on his own, wanting to avenge his fallen rival, though he is also defeated in the end.
Seiyuu: Tōru Furuya Alternate: Masaru Ikeda
Epsilon: She is an Australian-made robot who is a pacifist and takes care of the war orphans from the 39th Central Asian War. She believes war isn't the only way for humans and robots to get along, Epsilon's abilities come from the sun, making her weak during the nights and when it's cloudy. She faces Pluto in order to protect one of the children she'd taken care of; she gets entangled in Pluto's horns and flies high up above the clouds - taking Pluto with her. Pluto is able to destroy her just before the sun is able to rise, but not before begging Epsilon to kill him. She is just about to grant Pluto's wish, until Bora's shadowy form blocks the rising sun.
Seiyuu: Miyuki Matsuoka Alternate: Rumiko Ukai
Sahad/Pluto: He is a robot made by Dr. Abullah and was built to transform the vicious deserts of Persia into beautiful fields of flowers. However, after the 39th Central Asian Conflict, Dr. Abullah came back with different intentions for Sahad; he wanted Sahad to become a war robot. He put Sahad's AI into the body of a war machine named Pluto. Dr. Abullah then blackmailed Pluto into attempting to murder the 7 greatest war-machines around the world: Montblanc, North #2, Gesicht, Brando, Heracles, Epsilon, and Atom
Seiyuu: Ryōichi Tanaka Alternate: Kazuyuki Sogabe
Professor Abullah/Dr Goji/Bora: He is the head of the Persian Ministry of Science, he lost most of his body, and his family, in the 39th Central Asian War, with most of his body now being robotic replacements. In reality, he is a "Perfect" humanoid robot created by Dr. Tenma, and uploaded with the memories of the dead Professor Abullah. With no memory of it, he believes himself to be human, though he is also "Bora", the robot created during the conflict who is set in destroying the Earth.
Brau-1589: He is the robot that killed a human eight years prior to the story. He is imprisoned in an artificial intelligence correctional facility, where Gesicht visits him to get an idea of the killer he is trying to track down. Brau-1589 has a creepy, joking way of speaking, teasing those he talks to, and always asking to exchange memory chips in order to find out what is happening in the outside world. He claims that there is nothing wrong with his A.I., and repeated searches have proven it to be true.
Seiyuu: Ryūsei Nakao Alternate: Banjō Ginga
Dr. Churchill: A powerful sentient supercomputer, belonging to the United Kingdom of Thracia, whose only avatar to the outside world is a Pitbull plush doll. Though always polite to those he speaks to, Dr. Churchill on the inside has a deep hatred for humanity, which leads to his plan to have the Seven Greatest Robots die, lead Bora to destroy the Earth, and leave the Earth only to robots and some humans they would keep as slaves. He dies in the end at the hands of Brau-1589.
Seiyuu: Yūji Mitsuya Alternate: Keiko Toda
Professor Ochanomizu: He is the Minister of Science, following his predecessor and former best friend Umataro Tenma. Ochanomizu is a fervent believer in robot rights, and acts as a guardian and father figure for Astro, and created his sister Uran. Though he is the current Minister of Science, he is tremendously humble, and strongly believes in robot rights and justice.
Seiyuu: Rokurō Naya Alternate: Takeshi Aono
Dr. Tenma: He is a legendary robotics engineer and a PhD. graduate from Nerima University. Tenma gained widespread fame for developing the Bewusstsein artificial intelligence. He became the Minister of Science and created Astro/Atom, a robotic boy with human emotions, after the sudden death of his son Tobio in a car accident. He helped in the creation of Bora, as well as the AI of Dr Goji.
Seiyuu: Hideyuki Tanaka Alternate: Kōji Yada
Professor Hoffman: He is the creator of "zeronium" and the robot Gesicht. A compassionate, if timid, man, he makes sure Gesicht is always at peak performance, though he is not above hiding things from him in order to protect him (or because he was intimidated). Hoffman worked with Dr. Tenma once, and was warned against trying to create a "perfect" robot.
Seiyuu: Jōji Yanami Alternate: Kōhei Miyauchi
Prime Minister Alexander: He is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Thracia. He helped plan the entire conflict in Central Asia with the help of Dr. Churchill, as well as the death of the "Seven Greatest Robots" to assure Thracia's Supremacy.
Seiyuu: Keiichi Nanba Alternate: Katsunosuke Hori
Paul Duncan: He is the blind musician who North #2 serves as his butler. A bitter man resentful of his mother having abandoned him, he softens up when North #2 helps reveal that all she did was for him to be healed from his sickness. He becomes friends with North #2 after that.
Seiyuu: Michio Hazama Alternate: Masashi Hirose
Adolf Haas: He is a German trader who is a member of the anti-robot group, KR, and suspects that Gesicht killed his brother. He later tries to kill Gesicht, only for the KR to try and kill him in return, with Gesicht saving his life and his family.
Seiyuu: Osamu Saka Alternate: Yasuo Muramatsu
Helena: She is the wife of Gesicht, and also a robot. She, along with her husband, had their memories rewritten, and manage to find out. She grieves for Gesicht's death, and give his memory chip to help revive Astro/Atom.
Seiyuu: Kazue Ikura Alternate: Yō Inoue
Uran: She is Astro/Atom's younger sister. She was created by Professor Ochanomizu, based off Astro/Atom's own blueprints. She possesses a part of Astro's strength but none of his combat powers, and her most common power is the ability to talk with animals, as well as to sense the emotions of others.
Seiyuu: Hiromi Tsuru Alternate: Mami Koyama
A.N.: The Netflix adaptation should be around 8 episodes, but I don't think we need to constrain ourselves to that. in order to do justice to the entire saga, I think this could very well go around 12 or perhaps double the number of episodes...so long as they're not 1-hour episodes that is. Wjat I'm trying to say is, we don't need to add anny superfluous content, but neither should we cut it if it's part of the story in general. This could very well help us get an in with Tezuka and his family, perhaps enough to get their approval for our own version of The Lion King if we want to go that rout.
I loved Kimba the White Lion growing up, and though I don't think we should go the routew where out Lion should be white, at the very least we should acknowledge that we got some inspiration from Tezuka.
I looked into what other bands we could potentially use, and noticed that even if we acquire Hanna-Barbera, we're gonna need the to get the rights to use those characters from Archie Comics as the cartoon was an adaption of those comics.
That said, I don't think that'll stop us in the long run, so with that in mind here's: Scooby-Doo! And KISS: Trip to Ghoulstock: by Glenn Leopold and Dave Alistair [ Animated | Horror Comedy / Action Fantasy ]
The members of Mystery Inc. could hardly contain their excitement as they made their way to the annual Ghoulstock (Halloween) music festival, part of a job that would see their band play the opening act, none more excited than . The air buzzed with anticipation, and the festival grounds were abuzz with fans eagerly awaiting the performances of their favorite bands. With a lineup that boasted the iconic presence of KISS, the bewitching melodies of the Hex Girls, the infectious energy of Josie and the Pussycats, and the dazzling spectacle of Jem and the Holograms, as well as a number of lesser known acts (such as The Archies and the Banana Splits among others) it was an event that promised to be nothing short of electrifying.
However, the festival organizers found themselves facing a series of mysterious happenings that threatened to cast a dark shadow over the event. Determined to lend their mystery-solving expertise, the gang set out on their mission to unravel the enigma that plagued Ghoulstock. Upon their arrival, they were greeted by Delilah Domino, the no-nonsense security chief in charge of maintaining order. Delilah's stern demeanor initially made her reluctant to grant the gang access to the festival grounds. However, their fortunes turned when KISS themselves arrived, vouching for the gang's capabilities and convincing Delilah to allow them to participate in the investigation.
It didn't take long for Mystery Inc. to find themselves in the crosshairs of the mysterious Crimson Witch. With her eerie presence and relentless pursuit, she seemed intent on driving them away from the festival. Fortunately, the members of KISS, ever the protectors of the music world, came to the rescue, swooping in to save Mystery Inc. from the clutches of the relentless witch.
As the gang regrouped with KISS, the rock legends revealed that the Crimson Witch's haunting presence was not a novelty but a recurring occurrence at Ghoulstock. Their experiences with her in the past provided valuable insights into her motives and methods. However, it was the enigmatic fortune teller, Chikara, who shed light on the witch's origins. Chikara revealed that the Crimson Witch hailed from a parallel dimension and yearned to possess an artifact known as the Black Diamond. This powerful gem, when combined with the witch's dark magic, had the potential to summon a colossal monster known as The Destroyer, capable of wreaking havoc on both dimensions.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, the gang and the other bands concocted a risky plan. They would use the Black Diamond as bait, hoping to lure the Crimson Witch into a trap. However, their well-intentioned scheme went awry, resulting in an unexpected twist. The gang, along with Kiss, found themselves hurtling through a mysterious portal, transported to the witch's home dimension.
In this strange parallel world, the Crimson Witch seized the Black Diamond, her malevolent laughter echoing through the eerie landscape. With the diamond in her possession, she unleashed The Destroyer, a monstrous force of chaos and destruction. The stakes were higher than ever, but the gang, fueled by their unwavering determination, joined forces with the legendary members of Kiss to mount a valiant battle against the fearsome creature.
United in their mission, the gang, KISS and the other bands worked tirelessly to construct a magnificent spaceship unlike anything the world had ever seen. With their combined strength and unwavering resolve, they engaged The Destroyer in a battle that shook the very foundations of the witch's realm. In an epic showdown, they emerged victorious, banishing The Destroyer back to the depths from which it came. With the threat neutralized, the gang and KISS returned triumphantly to their own dimension.
The festival was saved from her malicious schemes, KISS, grateful for the gang's invaluable assistance, expressed their heartfelt gratitude before taking to the stage for an unforgettable concert performance. The air pulsated with the energy of the music, and the crowd roared in appreciation, knowing that they had been witness to an extraordinary adventure that would forever be etched in their memories. As the final chords reverberated through the festival grounds, the gang stood shoulder to shoulder, their bond stronger than ever. They had not only solved the mystery that threatened Ghoulstock but had also experienced a remarkable journey that transcended the ordinary. And as they exchanged knowing glances, they realized that their adventures were far from over—new mysteries awaited them, ready to be unraveled in the spirit of friendship, bravery, and rock 'n' roll. A/N: Timeline-wise this takes place somewhere between movie trilogies, or can even act as a season finale two-parter if so inclined, and if anyone's wondering, I added Jem and the Holograms as the other band mainly as a way to get back at Toei, who helped produce the show OTL...also for Hasbro's (who also helped) handling of the recent WotC debacle if anyone keeps up with that.
And as I said before, any romantic subplots for the series are on hold until the chemistry rolls for the first film are released. In the meantime, I'm canonizing this exchange as the basis for the characters:
I had been thinking on making a Pitch for the Live Action Scooby Doo Films, so seeing this is amazing and once more reignites my desire to buy the Scooby Doo Franchise from hannah-Barbera.
Only thing that makes me weary is the Scooby Doo in Zombie island Pitch. I remember seeing that movie when I was a kid, and being completely enthralled to the idea that this time the monsters were real instead of just men in masks. I freaking loved that movie, and if possible i would want that to be the First movie we make in order to shock the fans, but for that we would need to wait a bit longer to make sure there are enough fans that know how the formula in the series usually goes.
All in all, I can't wait to see more Scooby Doo content @Orion Ultor
Only problem with that idea is the fact that the franchise has been going on for a near decade at this point, with the first instance of the monster being real, Scooby Ghosts West, being broadcasted next year. At this point, most fans of the series are very familiar with the "Guy-In-Rubber-Mask" schtick, but it'd be easy enough to do a highlight reel of them unmasking folk in the beginning of Witch Trial. There's also the fact that at this point Fred, Daphne and Velma have essentially been demoted to being non-essential to the plot (the writers were struggling to find a way to keep them relevant), falling completely out of favor with fans in favor of Scrappy-Doo (weird, I know, but that mutt practically saved the franchise from getting canceled), with Daphne making her reappearance [to main cast status] after three years being off air, with Fred and Velma continuing to struggle for relevance as reoccurring characters even as they came back after four, so Witch Trial is meant to not only reintroduce the characters to audiences as being relevant to the plot but also explain the hiatus.
So, the plan here was to help Daphne become relevant by revamping her into a Girl Boss: Fighter! archetype (think proto-Buffy), with the next trilogy focusing on either Fred or Velma. If Fred, I'm thinking about something that'll highlight his engineering knowhow (Loch Ness Monster, Pirates Ahoy, Abracadabra-Doo), and if Velma then something that highlights her scientific knowhow (Alien Invaders, Cyber Chase, Monster of Mexico).
Hey @Orion Ultor , seeing how you want to make the rest of the cast relevant once more (not just Scooby and SCrappy), I figure this could be of help: View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pw0vB4Lm1Tk
Despite the title, it goes on to analyze each character, their strong and weak points, and give suggestions as to how they could be presented in a new series with characteristics and quirks, making each of them distinct and fun, but also connected to each other and how they could very well work.
Completely forgot about that video essay, agree with most* of what he's saying, but will probably add this as a character summary for the characters.
*Word Vomit:
- No relationships until after the first movie (need to see the chemistry rolls first).
-- If Shaggy's is higher, then I'm inclined to go down that path.
- Daphne is Mystery Inc's lead singer, and in charge of their outfits when performing which, while practical, are stunning.
-- (Animators get to flex with different outfits)
-- (What you think, should their act be something like proto-Evanescence, or Pat Benatar?)
-- She got cut off by her rich folks at one point, for all this supernatural nonsense, but still has contacts all over the world from those days.
-- Her fashionista side knows how all the fabric works, so she generally ends up being the quickest on the uptake regarding how the monster suits function.
- Shaggy pretty much operates as their roadie, sound designer, cook, and accountant.
-- Later on, after they start getting bigger, Flim-Flam takes over as their roadie after 13 Ghosts (he's the dude that keeps asking if you wanna buy their mixtape)
--- (Needs a way different name though, something Vietnamese maybe?)
- Given this is the '80s, Velma can't be openly lesbian so "they were best friends" with Marcy "Hot Dog Water" Fleech will have to do.
-- Also thinking about making her Hispanic, mostly in the way of the Irish Battalion, but that can be up for discussion.
- Fred is way more blue collar than before, like half the reason he went into mechanical engineering, besides traps, was so that it would he could play around with welding equipment...and that years ago he promised his dad he'd take over the family business.
-- Company went under, years before he was old enough, but he still remembered that promise. (Eventually tie that event to a mystery)
Ahh, a fellow person of culture I see! I too enjoy following events and watching everything I loved as a child be slowly perverted and massacred in front of my eyes! High ho cheerio!

Such is why we, as our Lord's chosen few, must act in accordance with the gospel handed down to us by our Lord's most devout, "Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss," until these false shepherds and their ilk have been expelled from our holy spaces so that they and their heretic messiah may not further taint our holy sacraments!

So, I just recently discovered this amazing
Batman fan-film, and I was hoping, if there's a fourth or fifth Batman movie with Two-Face as the main villain, that it take some inspiration from this. It's genuinely amazing.
Alrighty time for some rewards for original ideas:
[]We Don't have a TV station Yet! (Lucasfilms will start working on building a tv station.)
[]We don't really need one. (Lucasfilms will work with another TV station to release its shows.)
[]So... We can do both? (Lucasfilms will do both)
I love this
[]I belive speaking in someones language is something great (Bruce will learn a new language. Most likely Romanian)
[]I belive people should learn how to speak a different language. (If the show is made, expect the average person to be bilingual fluently, or even trilingual fluently in America)
[]The Idea is perfect (Unknown Effect)
You know something, I have never read Astro Boy, and I hope to change that.
[]The Godfather of Manga Hold Court (Osamu Tezuka comes to Sunrise to see about animating a new show)
[]Astro Boy Sees New Light in America (Astro boy becomes really popular in America)
[]I belive we see the future in ways we don't imagine (unknown effect)

You know, now I'm left wondering if that third language is meant to represent folks with a different first language then is there's gonna be an unofficial movement among subarbanite moms doing a shitton of genealogy into the family tree so that they can brag to their friends that "our family kept onto their ancestral roots, because this is a [insert-ethnicity-here] household", gaslighting them in the process that they didn't fully assimilate two generations ago...which also means that a lot of Ethnic Clubs like the Polish Foreign Legion aren't going to also see an uptick in membership.
Which, in a roundabout way [that I'm probably overthinking], means that more European-based ethnicities will be more inclined to join HEMA as a way of "getting back to their roots"...damn, these families are gonna be insufferable for the next half-decade.
Literally happened last week, but there's a number of things happening, from there being fear that there will be no more physical copies of D&D being made going forward due to WotC dropping their third-party publisher (Penguin House) with no new one announced, them deciding that the Witch class is being removed since its "offensive to real world religions" and that Druids and Shamans will likely also be removed for the same reason, discounts and bundles are unavailable from their online store, and all of this seems to be aligning perfectly for their One D&D to launch as an exclusive that may or not be real.
The only thing I can say to all of this is: Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Stanley Quinn was a rather typical, average guy. He lived a relatively normal life as a wannabe screenwriter in New York City, the city that he's grown up in since childhood, never experiencing anything other than the 'Big Apple'.
That was, until he went back home after another failed interview, only to find something had broken into his apartment… cautiously walking in, he found a strange eldritch creature… raiding his fridge.
Initially scared of whatever this creature is, Stanley eventually discovers that the creature really liked [insert brand deal food/drink here]. And manages to somewhat tame it…
An avid reader, Stanley decides to give the creature the name of Shoggoth, and uses its strange physiology as inspiration for his latest work…
This is until Shoggoth accidentally gets discovered by Stanley's next door neighbor, and the police are called to take care of this strange 'monster' that the neighbor suspects Stanley either created or summoned.
Shoggoth using its strange powers is able to inform Stanley of the police arriving to his apartment, so they make a quick escape by climbing out of the sixth story window, and using Shoggoth to swing to the next building, and getting away by stealing the neighbor's car.
The movie turns into a road trip movie, as Stanley and Shoggoth evade the police and agents in black hunting them, and experience brand new things that they never thought they would have.
Some ideas are that Shoggoth finds a factory for [insert product placement that we've established that Shoggoth loves] and essentially eats/drinks everything there, or Stanley befriending a country girl (possible romance?).
Eventually, the movie would end with Shoggoth saving Stanley's life against one of the agents, sacrificing its own life in the process. ___
This is just a basic pitch that I made out of boredom. Hope it's decent enough for you guys, though.
