Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

[X] Plan Pray I Do Not Alter The Deal Further
-[X] I want the ability to approve of and make changes to the script if reasonable.
-[X] I want to shoot locally. (Got to be there for my family)
-[X] No demands or last minute edits from on high on age rating.
-[X] Request that I direct the movie.
-[X] In exchange for waiving the usual upfront payment, I want 1% of the movie's gross, and 2% of merchandise sales.
-[X] Contract ILM to work on the SFX and VFX for a price which will be nogotiated at a later date.

FIgured I'd get some elbow grease on and try my hand at a plan of my own. I'm fine if this doesn't win, though, or if anyone suggests changes to it. :)

[X] Plan Reasonable-ish demands
-My script I'll provide (either Bruce writes it or someone he trusts does, or he picks one he likes provided)
-Executive Producer credit
-Shooting locally (Got to be there for my family)
-My Co-Director will be picked by me, cause you know I will be directing action scenes
-No demands from on high on age rating
-3% of Gross, and 2% of merchandise sales.
-Final casting decisions will be made by me

Yeah....No. This is way too much to ask for even if Alan Hirschfield himself was coming to us and begging for Bruce to play Batman. We need to trim down the fat and present some reasonable demands so Kathleen can go to her bosses and get approval instead of making Bruce basically confirm his diva status and getting us outright rejected by Columia.

In my opinion I don't think we should ask for Executive Producer credit. I highly doubt we will be allowed by Columbia to become one because that makes Batman a Bruce O'Brian production which means we take all the credit and get the Oscars if it's nominated for Best film. No way Alan and the Columbia Board will allow that because it essentially hijacks Batman to become a Lucasfilsms production. It doesn't give us an extra action like being director would, and I think asking for that would actually cause Kathleen herself to reject us. Remember that Batman is her shot at proving herself, and Bruce asking for Executive Producer is just confirming to her that her hero and crush is basicallly another asshole in Fratwood who looks out for himself and doesn't care for her opinion. Not to mention above all this we're not going to be handling the budget, marketing or casting people so we don't exactly deserve this.

So get rid of Executive Producer request, and for payment I honestly wouldn't tempt fate by keeping it 1% of the movie's gross. We're already rich and the 1% difference will only be a couple million dollars while merch sales are eternal. Just better be safe than sorry.

Yeah @Duke William of can you get rid of producer seems like sabotage
Okay, I got rid of the executive producer credit and reduced the money we make to 1% of gross and merchandise.

@Duke William of I was more asking for 1% of movie's gross and 2% of the merch sales because merch sales are far more important in the long run with greater potential for profits since Star Wars toys alone are a multi-billion dollar industry but perhaps 1% for both could be best.

So, remove the executive producer, age rating demands and director request? Would that be reasonable?

EDIT: And reduce the money % demands to something like 1% each?

Think we could swing for making Mark the Joker? He is the best one in OTL.

[X] Plan I'll be your Batman
-[x] Shooting locally (Got to be there for my family)
-[X] I want the ability to approve of and make changes to the script if reasonable.
-[X] I'll even direct it, or at least be action director, so you don't need to pay me as an actor.
--[X] In exchange for not being paid as an actor, I want 1% of the movie's gross, and 1% of merchandise sales.
-[X] This won't interfere with any promotional work I need to do for Lucas Films.
-[X] I don't want this movie to be campy or childish like Adam West Batman, even if I liked the show growing up.

I've adjusted the deal so our demands are more reasonable, and we focus on the important stuff. Just being able to focus on being an actor might be nice, not having to worry about being a producer or director as well. Let that be someone else's problem.

So, Magoose has just said that the fee can't be waived unless we are a producer or director. With this in mind, I think requesting that we direct the action is a good idea. It allows us to wave the fee like we want, we get to control the action and bring it up to proper standards, but it also is an attractive offer for Columbia because we are well-known enough for our action directing as well as it allowing us to waive fees, so they don't have to pay us as much. It also gives Kennedy an opportunity to spin it as a negotiation win for her.

I changed it so we accept minimum union wage instead, but I'll change it to directing action.

I am cautious about any Batman movie where Bruce does not select the script or shoot the action.

The reason is the most recent Batman version is the Adam West Batman and the Dark Knight Returns has not come out yet. So…it is quite possible that a Batman movie from 1978 would be quite silly, which might not suit Bruce.

Well this is also the time when Batman became far more in touch with his pulp and noir detective roots. At least it's trending in the start of the 80s.

Year one is coming after all…in a decade after all.

Maybe we can try to push for a darker noir take

Alright guys, I've made some changes to my Pitch, and much thanks to @Kaiser Chris for his help in shoring up the story and suggesting that Batman should have some Villains beyond the mob to fight.

As such, the changes made to my pitch are:

- Added Deadshot as Falcone's "Dragon", his main enforcer who is sent to kill Batman, and later James Gordon as well.

- Added Oswald Cobblepot as Falcone's 2nd in command, who goes on to become The Penguin later on, creating his own gang at the end.

-Moved Oswald Cobblepot, Loeb and Flass to Supporting Character Status.

- Moved Carmine and Deadshot to Main Character Status.

- Moved Barbara Gordon to Minor Character Status.

That is all.
