--[X] 1976 Clean Atomic Recycling and Energy Act [$1,000,000 ]: This initiative aims to reduce America's dependence on foreign energy and protect the environment through various measures. The initiative intends to convert old coal plants into nuclear reactors to improve the general air quality, recycle nuclear waste via methods discovered by Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois, and reduce the overall cost of electricity as a utility to a more reasonable standard. By converting decommissioned coal plants into nuclear reactors, the initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions, which can have detrimental effects on the environment, and transitioning the nation away from coal at a reasonable rate and retaining the workforce. Additionally, the recycling of nuclear waste aims to minimize the environmental impact of nuclear waste disposal while also reducing nuclear waste. The initiative also hopes to reduce the overall cost of electricity to make it more affordable and accessible to all citizens, utilizing energy retention devices ("Sand Batteries") while still meeting the country's energy needs. Overall, the CARE Act is a comprehensive effort to protect the environment while also ensuring access to affordable energy for all Americans. Rolled:

You honestly didn't think that a million dollars was enough, especially since many of the congressmen and senators were not interested in what an actor would say. Hell considering that, before you just did things on a local level, no bigger than the state of California. Which, while really good, was nothing. You honestly were just… happy to help people.
They shouldn't have cared about everything.
But when that Actor was arguably one of the most famous and influential Americans alive? When he has been doing crazy shit for the last 6 years, where most people could see you as… well, the American.
People in power tend to listen to a man with such soft power. So they listened to your proposal.
Now you were no politician, hell you had no real interest in politics at all. But you did pay attention to the world around you, and see what you saw.
The Oil Crisis was still in memory, and you remembered how many gas rations and even just… the fear of what was going on for the world and for America's place in it. That much was certain.
You knew that the Soviets were using the strike in Hollywood as propaganda, as well as pushing more technically impressive films that were just… flooding the European market. And they were really making the US look like chumps.
And as a good American, anything that would make the commies look bad was always a thing.
Besides, if the US can become a net exporter of Energy, without relying on foreign oil from Gulf nations, wouldn't that mean that it would be stronger?
While you didn't have a completely comprehensive plan, you did… have enough to get it onto the house floor.
Hopefully, it would be enough to see it pass.

Meanwhile, with Senator Gaylord Nelson:
"GET THIS ONTO THE DOCKET NOW, I DON'T GIVE A RATS ASS WHO IT MIGHT PISS OFF OF OUR LOBBYISTS! IT WILL MAKE THE SOVIETS LOOK BAD! AND THAT WILL BE A WIN!"
-------------------------------------------------
You just had to hope that democracy works.
Reward: You think it's going to pass…
You will learn of that result in two turns, in the Bicentennial.
Hurray for government corruption and fear of the Soviets as America needs a win?
Also Senator Gaylord Nelson, good on you for spearheading this.
Hopefully it wins.
