Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

You have to write in, and I'll give my blessing to it.
Dammit @Magoose , I am pretty bad at doing write-ins for stuff related to game mechanics... (not to mention that we want to save mone for now, and Lucasfilm expansions are expensive...

But this would work as a Write in to revise the quality of our finished screenplays?
[]The House Of Ideas: For far too long the student filmmakers and the young actors are being subjected to what can only be described as Agism. Hollywood isn't taking risks anymore when making their films. And you want to change that. So let's start Green lighting projects that were ignored or told off. And let's see just how much money they missed out on. (All fictional pitches will automatically be given a Screenplay score of 50 and developing them further will include heavy bonuses)

not really. He's read the hobbit but not the trilogy.
Quick question, could we do a Hobbit movie, and split it in two parts?

I'm asking since, unlike many fans I think, I did like the first Hobbit movie, and I think we could do a two parter if we use it as a base from which to work from, with some parts taken out of course (perhaps we can have the band of orcs just a simple band of orcs that are defeated at the end of the first movie so they don't have to appear in the second).
Honestly most of the actors did a good job. Even Hayden and Jake Lloyd were decent with Hayden excelling in Revenge of the Sith after he fails and Jake doing a decent job in emotional stuff where he doesn't have much dialogue. The only main actor who I think did a meh job and could be replaced is Natalie Portman. I know it's probably heresy to a lot of people here, but Natalie to me is a very hit or miss actor and with the exception of a few scenes she kind of seemed distant and never giving her 100% in comparison to Carrie as Leia.
...Really? Jake Lloyd? I'm sorry I just can't stop remembering how he basically acted as a normal human boy when he's supposed to play a slave in a very depressing situation. Thaty's not good acting in my opinion. I will grant you Natalie Portman though, she really seems to have lucked into the roll, and then could not get rid of her so they had to keep her in it. I think there should have been a nother actress that could have emoted better than she does.
I honestly love the prequels and think Attack of the Clones is a good movie and Revenge of the Sith is the second best Star Wars movie for me. However, the main issue plaguing them is George's dialogue and story pacing. I think here we have kind of butterflied that to the point where even if Bruce was somehow completely uninvolved with the prequels, George would be fine. Remember that he got a 123 script roll for Star Wars without any intervention on our part. To me that reads that George is accepting criticism and he took a serious look at the improv scenes from Graffiti and used that inspiration to grow as a writer. Plus with George's marriage with Marcia presumably remaining strong, she'll be around and work her editing magic for the prequels. Overall I'd say we got a good foundation there. The real trouble will be whenever George wants to do the sequels because I think that's going to have a lot of different reactions on where we want to take it.
I think the prequels worked good as they were, they just needed a bit more action instead of races or dealing with the senate with the first film, and then putting an entire Prologue as the second film before we got to the part everyone wanted to see; the actual Clone Wars. Perhaps we can have the Clone Wars Series be done as TV show before the Prequels are done, that way people will be more interested in how it began.
Uh Oh. Looked this guy up, apparently he lead Universal through their Golden Age from the 70s to mid 90s and apparently was so close to having Universal acquire Disney in '84 and only missing out due to miscommunication from his negotiating team that prevented the signing. Looks like Mike has met his nemesis.

Edit: I meant "Prequels" not "Sequels". Those are just garbage.

Got a root canal yesterday, will be kinda out of it the next few days...apparently it went back into my sinuses.
@Magoose, will we have Johnny Cage from Mortal Kombat be inspired by Bruce? They're both successful actors and can kick ass
But Bruce isn't a flawed person, at least unlike Johnny so… it wouldn't really fit in Mortal Kombat.
How about that new guy from the '21 movie, what's the name...Cole Young?

Wait, I forgot he's Scorpion's descendent and a clearly Irish guy won't cut it; back to the drawing board.

I'd be down for that, just hope it's book accurate though.

The kid was nine and it was very clearly one of his first roles, so that's more on the director than any actual acting on Lloyd's part, kid didn't know any better.

Depending on when we release it, Lena Headey (early '90s) or Scarlett Johannson (OTL '99 release)?

Or if we're going for a little more age appropriate to the 9 year old Ani, then maybe Kirsten Stewart or Shailene Woodley?
Edit: I meant "Prequels" not "Sequels". Those are just garbage.
The only thing I want to keep from the Sequels are the costumes, the idea of a Jedi Stormtrooper and Kylo Ren's lightsaber design...maybe Holdo's Manuever if, and only if, it's something we can allude to it in the LCAaAQ canon and given to a more competent commander.

Having read the original Jurassic Park novel, I wonder if we'd be able to make it slightly more book accurate [the book is that good and has fewer plot holes].

I say this partly out of a desire to also get Michael Crichton in our corner to get access to his work catalog, because on one end we have things like Westworld and Andromeda Strain that we can use to explore broader concepts and potentially a shared universe, and on the other we have things like E.R. (he was co-creator) that we can use as cash cows (over its runtime, it netted over $3 Billion); that, and his book Rising Sun would us to explore American-Japanese relations with audiences, which given the current Brucemania, would allow us to further explore and expand our operations in that area.

But beyond that, who wants to have fun with Dino Crisis and make that a movie? I mean, who wouldn't want to have a dinosaur horror movie in time for Halloween? Just imagine, you're out and about minding your own business, trying to eek out a living as a shoreman down in Central America when something unknown to you spears out of the jungle and takes out a good number of your village, with you being presumably next. And in the sequel, it even starts taking other dinosaurs of its kind – – I mean, some of the dinosaurs do escape the Island at the end of the first book...

[EDIT: Sorry to add something in so late, but just to add to the horror aspect, here's an animation I just found that highlights this:

I never said Jake Lloyd was the greatest part of the Prequels or gave an outstanding performance, but I think he did alright as a child actor and tried to make the best of it but wasn't given a great script or material to work with from George. On him being too happy as a slave child, not only was his slavery under Wattoo less severe than OTL chattel slavery, but I think it's a product of Anakin having known it his entire life so he's normalized it and doesn't know better. Also, Star Wars films due to being stories meant for general audiences I think can't really delve too deep into such a strong subject as slavery without going into Andor levels of maturity or getting an R rating which would in return drive away many casual fans. Remember after all how in Episode 8 you have the child slaves who on the gambling world who were literally left behind by our heroes Finn and Rose right after they helped the two escape with the llama horses, and the end shows one of the kids being all happy and optimistic along with hints of force senstivity even though in reality he should be getting whipped or severely physically punished for letting the llama horses escaped, yet the child slaves act whimsical and fun.

Overall though, I don't want Jake Lloyd to do anything with Star Wars until he's an adult and even then we shouldn't pressure him into anything, I just want the kid to live a normal life, which even if he wasn't in Star Wars would already be difficult as an established child actor. For Anakin in the Phantom Menace, we should push George to have an established teenage actor play the role and emphasize that the role of Anakin is going to be a big weight with a lot of pressure from the fans and it shouldn't be placed on a little kid.

Also any thoughts on Ahmed Best instead of playing Jar Jar being the badass Kelleran Beq from the get go? Hell we could use him as a backup for Mace Windu if we can't get Samuel L. Jackson again.

Honestly as aa History and Poli Sci Major the Senate scenes are a real treat for me because it's fun to see a galactic government deal with stuff and the politics and inner workings of the Republic that lead to its downfall. I don't think the Senate scenes are inherently bad, but in Phantom Menace they need a major switch in topics to something besides hyperlane taxation or at the very least a more intense and in-depth look to something akin to West Wing or House of Cards to show the scuminess of the Republic and really set the stage for the downfall, maybe some strong political allegories like how the military creation act in AOTC and rise of the Empire in Revenge of the Sith was strongly related to the Patriot Act and War on Terror.

Totally on board with throwing out the podraces, though we may have to keep that in as a compromise because George is a HUGE racing enthusiast and the podraces to him a major passion project like the racing stuff in Graffiti.

OH MY GOD! I just thought of something incredible. The Speed Racer live action movie here but instead of the Wachowskis we have George direct.

You're telling me racing flying cars in the desert needs to be cut? You underestimate the primal urge for people to see people in vehicles go fast.

and also, if we're keeping the unholy demon jar jar in the movie, he better be a sith lord.

Mentioning people who may or may not be in Star Wars, Magoose what happened to John Wayne's part in New Hope? 'Cause I completely forgot he even had a part that George cut out OTL.

...and if the same thing happened, do we have enough lines that we can potentially cut together to make the character one of the Bounty Hunters in Empire Strikes Back?

Movie Pitch:
Prince of Persia: The Thousand and Second Night
Sorry for the lack of any sort of attention on this, been a bit busy today with a horrifyingly busy day.

Though I shall say this, we will be getting some rewards for this one:

Because I do not think this deserves a script quality of 41 (I rolled)

[]John... He likes this (John completes an extra script this round, this script, with a +60 to its quality)
[]So What you're saying is... we should be thinking about pumping out movies in franchises, rather then quality of the films (Movie studios are taking the wrong lessons from the Star Wars Hype)
[]I believe that We can work out a deal (Mike works with certain people to get things done... Increase the Profits on All Movies for this year)

I'd probably go for the last option. Gone with the wind isn't gonna be the best selling movie of all time with the goose around, and our partner in crime Mike.

What kind of role would Clint want anyway?
In all honesty, I'd rather have Clint not be in Star Wars and would rather have him be either one of our directors or in something like Firefly or Expanse that's closer to what he's actually acted in, partly because I think it'd be kind of a waste to have him basically as a one-off character.
