Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Lucasfilms Unlimited Interlude, it was stated that Bruce's dream for Lucasfilms was having an animation studio but he had to sacrifice that for ILM to make George happy and distribution and marketing for film foundation.
That was the exact moment I was thinking of, I just couldn't remember what that was part of.

I'm honestly down for energy production and nuclear waste to be Bruce's first hot topic national issue.
I'm down. Anybody else got thoughts on this?

Oh and... uh... To troll or not to troll that is the question?

Nah, not tonight
Do it, coward 😤

Quick petition. NOW that we're pushing for post production. Can we maybe try and network with John Williams. If I'm correct he was involved in a lot of the post production, as he actually wrote the music for the scenes, instead of basing it on the script.

I want to see what Johnny can do if we bring him into Kung Fu Kid.

I'm cool with that. Although, some other actions that have caught my eye are modelling, exercising to stay in shape for the Olympics soon, and networking with some more people.

$50 million is a huge amount of money for penalty. To put it into context, Bruce could probably buy a MLB, NBA, NFL, AND NHL team all for around $50 million.

...

Which actually might not be a bad idea for an investment. Also, could be useful towards becoming an LA staple with perks we could give to actors who are on our projects.

Fuck yeah, we should totally buy a sports team.

I want us to get into contact with Frank Herbert, see if we can get enough of a good impression to convince him we can do a good Dune adaptation. With some luck we can get a good Director who can understan the need for the movie to be done in two parts.

Should we try David Lynch? His first movie was way out there the first time I saw her, but goddamn it, the effects and images were memorable as hell.

My vote is for a trilogy, Dune being in two parts, then it's first sequel. Ridley Scott at the helm would be cool. Maybe Bruce as Gurney, a small side part so he doesn't take over.

Mmm, if I had to pick a date to start releasing them, I'd say around 1984-1985.

It's heavily exploitative, but the Soviet-Afghan and the Mujahideen and the Panjshir offences are leading to an Afghan victory and the Mujahideen were getting media attention, whcih, with the Fremen fighting against the Imperial armies is…a good bit of free advertising

[]So... Computer Animation, is it possible? (George has expressed an interest in Computer animation, if only because he has an idea for a space battle)
[]Bruce, I think we might be able to do something cool (George has an idea, that might scare you.)
[]Animation will never be the same (Unknown effect.)
I'm so very torn. I'm trying to guess what the outcome for each of them will be but the lack of coffee is killing me...#1.

I think every book in the Dune collection should be given their own time to shine rather than just trying to cram it all in a single movie. Now, I can see how Dune: Messiah is short enough to be made into one, but thematically it doesn't fit in the overall narrative of the first Dune book, what with it being a deconstruction of all the triumphs gained.

I think it would work better if we make a Dune two parter movie, then we can try for a trilogy consisting of the Dune: Messiah and Children of Dune books (though the latter will not be published until next year) since both books tigether share a more optimistic message: things go to shit, but perhaps the next generation can make it better.

I'd have no problem having the movie done by the 80s, though I don't want us to have anything to do with Afghanistan, that path lies regret as the False movie legend about Rambo III shows.

It's more that we're going to have a window, between the early 80's and mid 90's where the American public will see the Arab coded Fremen in a positive light.

The closer we get to Desert Storm and the 90's-2000's Middle Eastern political scene the less viable a movie with true to book Fremen become. Unless we want to wait for the 2010's, or whitewash the Fremen.

I don't know, sounds bit like we're making our movies political, and I'd rather not do that.

Besides, I don't think we need to whitewash the Fremen at all. Sure, there may not be any arab or Islamic actors now, but that doesn't mean we can't do the film. if we want to be as faithful to the material as possible we we can always make do with more darker skinned actors, whether they come from South or Central America, or we can go for Indian actors in Bollywood.

I'm going to put on my QM hat to talk about. This…

While movies art and politics are interchangeable and otherwise very much something you can do… doing so for no reason or judging the political climate and standing against it is not something I recommend, not without a damn fine script and the balls to see your vision through.

That is all I will say in the matter unless you all begin to make things… like that

Edit I am mearly saying doing something for just politics sake is not a good idea

Anything is political if you squint hard enough and extrapolate things to the extreme.

For example, the fact that Bruce is nicknamed goose is an allegory on the rights of animals in an age where they were treated poorly, like the Irish.

In this 50k word treatise I will-

Goosemania: Origami Toys
Goosemania: Origami Toys:

In the summer of 1975, in the heart of Japan, there lived a young boy named Kenji. He had heard rumors of a new and imaginative movie that would soon be released in theaters: Star Wars. Although he had never seen a movie quite like it before, he eagerly anticipated its arrival.

As the months drew closer to its release, Kenji saw trailers airing on television in which he saw strange characters unlike any he had ever seen before, and grew especially excited to see his favorite actor fighting alongside his favorite fighter- to see Toshiro Mifune and Goose O'Brien fighting together was assuredly going to be legendary! The excitement within his young heart grew, and he decided he must find some way to bring these characters to life.

However, he soon discovered that action figures from the movie were not readily available in stores near his hometown. Seeing no other alternative, Kenji turned to the art of origami - a skill he had practiced and enjoyed since he was a little boy.

Kenji began folding pieces of paper, determined to create the characters he loved so much from the Star Wars movie trailer. Folding and creasing, he turned the paper into intricate shapes and designs, finally emerging with small but accurate figurines of the stoic Obi-Wan, the rogue Han Solo, the...charming Luke Skywalker, and the lovely Princess Leia.

Thrilled with his creations, Kenji spent hours playing with the little paper figures, bringing his own magical stories to life with each fold. As the movie drew closer to its release, Kenji's excitement only grew, and he eagerly anticipated the day he would finally see his beloved characters on the big screen.

He could only imagine what story would be told, but whatever it was could only be just as or even more exciting than what he pictured it to be.

These are all well and good, but I gotta go with:

[X] Japan is going to Love this! (Increase International Profits)

By the way, I gotta ask: does Han Solo have an Irish Brogue or a New York Accent? Wanna know for when the time comes to write up Ireland's reaction.

Actually, Bruce gave himself a new york accent, but a very light one, rather than a heavy Irish accent. And reasons are character reasons.

for two reasons:

1. Like Bruce, at least before his marriage, he had kinda lost touch with his own roots, and adopted the accent of the space-faring (or rather, his homeland) people.

2. He didn't want to have people wonder what he was saying if he decided to randomly start shouting in Gaelic.

I feel like the Irish accent would be interesting and fitting considering his status as a rogue and the desire of some in the thread to introduce the idea of him being a Imperial defector because of the English accents of the Imperials, but I also feel like the New York accent makes more sense for Corellia. Just some of my own scattershot thoughts.

Corellians are going to be canonically New Yorkers now, aren't they? A lotta this, a bit of that, and all of it on the line, huh?

...can we make Qui-Gon Corellian then? Spark all sorts of theories outta that?
2. He didn't want to have people wonder what he was saying if he decided to randomly start shouting in Gaelic.
He's going to do that anyway at somepoint, I hope?
