Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Do you attempt to Get Reshoots done? (Will reroll all actors SP, and give them the highest roll):
[X]Yes

Is there any reason at all not to do so?
Our rolls are great to a degree that rerolling is unnecessary, and by not rerolling, we can get the film out faster and thereby take greater advantage of the lack of content being released because of the strike. It also allows Star Wars to release early enough that it can be the first film Lucasfilm releases and Rocky comes out second and that way it doesn't mess with our deal with George.

[X]No

Oh you have no idea how happy this makes me as a Star Wars fan. We managed to turn Star Wars into the definitive GOAT movie, a movie that critics will uphold with cinema's classics and is going to go even more historical than OTL. Good chances of first billion dollar movie, beat the hell out of that POS Gone with the Wind in box office records, and we start off with an amazing debut for Lucasfilms proper and the true beginning of our long road to cinematic greatness. Amazing journey, loved every second of it.

As for the final production turn itself, really happy we managed to score that Nat 100 with George and managed a happy landing with a good Star Wars production and one of the best films possible. Going to do wonders for his life in the future and would love to see more George directed stuff. Shame about Kenny and Anthony but at least they got through with good performances. Also I would have thought that the Carrie action would have had a +30. At least she still had a pretty damn good performance, although hopefully Debbie isn't going to have a major health crisis and it's only a mildly bad infection.

@Magoose Some questions and comments:

Are we good friends with Mark? Even though we didn't chose that last social with him, I hope we would since we helped him get out of his early funk, showed huge confidence and belief in him from the beginning, and helped him with the stunts and choreography. Mark, Carrie and Harrison were all close friends OTL so I hope we can have the same relationship with him to help expand Bruce's inner circle and have another acting buddy.

Did Mike oversee the distribution of any imports while we were away? Cause I imagine that with the months of production and Hollywood being grounded to a halt he would have done 2 or 3. Did he also manage to get any more imports.

Is the strike still ongoing by the time they return or is it over?

Also on Turn 23 results, we managed to get a permanent +20 with Carrie in chemistry so long as we trust each other. I know at this point it's practically meaningless, but I hope we get that boost so that way Bruce and Carrie have the highest chemistry in the film as fitting of a loving husband and wife.

So, just to clarify. The hallways scene was the fight between Vader and Obi Wan?

Is it any closer to this?

Thinking it over, I think the fight will be more balanced with Obi-wan having his own badass moments but Vader mostly being in control and having the initiative but considering the VFX and SFX, we'll probably also see some crazy Old Republic style force fights.

Can we get a choice to do a reshoot of only that hallway scene specifically instead of a whole bunch of scenes?

It's good but we can do better

Perhaps not exactly like those, but I could see "You were the Chosen One!" be one of those that are kept. Perhaps another of Obi Wan screaming Anakin's name as that sounds ambiguous enough.
I mean...I feel like that would make it very obvious that Anakin who has a confirmed connection to Obi-Wan just like Vader who is described as Obi-Wan's student is actually Anakin Skywalker. Particularly if it literally says Anakin during this confrontation with the voice over.

Been thinking about how to expand the company and here's a list of investments I think we should eventually dabble in:

1. "Publishing House" (Project: Campbell House)
2. "Animation House" (Project: Pixar Animation)
3. "Practical Effects" (Project: Mando's Gym)
4. "TV Channel" (Project: Hero's Journey)
5. "VHS/DVD/Blu-Ray/Streaming Distribution Retailer" (Project: Blockbuster)
6. "Videogame Developer" (Project: Goose Inc.)

Starting from the top is the "Publishing House", which I feel we haven't discussed enough but given that it would give the company further control over any and all properties that we acquire and/or license, everything from literature such as Conan and the first Legends book Splinter of the Mind's Eye to Comics and Manga, should be considered as our first priority since it'll keep everything nice and in house and we don't have to fight over licensing, especially when it comes to stuff such as movie novelizations.

Next is the "Animation House" which everyone has been in favor of, gives a similar list of benefits as the one above and most disagree on whether to buy one out or to start from scratch...but I agree, it's better to start from scratch so there's less baggage that we need to weed out from overhauling an old studio to our specifications and work culture.

Mando's Gym because the hope and the dream is that the programs and classes it offers will be of sufficient quality that all of Hollywood comes to our studios to get qualified and therefore influences an entire generation (or two) of Stuntsmen, Propsmasters, etc., to like and work with us, in addition to the additional revenue it will provide.

The last three are fairly obvious, but aren't a priority until we reach the next decade, and provide a great deal of synergy to other departments within the company (Distribution to Retailer/TV Channel, Videogames to ILM).

My last note on all of this is that most of these companies should be called something else besides LucasFilm, but that's besides the point.

That fight alone would help in setting the true threat that Darth Vader represents. Obi Wan is fighting as a badass there, using techniques and power that would have dismemebered any and all who'd try and fight him. heck, I'm sure he'd have made mincemeat out of the troopers that were chasing Luke, Leia and Han.

Then here comes Vader, and he's pushing him. At every moment of the fight Vader pushes forward, with pure raw power and strength. You'd think Obi Wan's experience would aid him, but no; Vader still has him beat there.

I think the moment when you know (not think, but Know) that Vader is going to win is when you see Obi Wan Force Push him and fail. When Vader did it, Obi Wan was thrown like a ragdoll and somewhat concussed. When Obi Wan did it, Vader barely felt it.

There's going to be multiple showings just to see that scene, mark my words.

By the way , if you guys are still up to for the Star Wars Anthology series, I was thinking that one of the stories could be the adventures of Biggs as he joins the rebellion up to his meeting with Luke, show how that small meeting between friends was more profound than what was thought, as well as truly living up to the Idiom "Everyone is the hero of their own story."
