Airsoft originated in Japan during the early '70s, so I don't see why Bruce couldn't stumble across a tournament using these; mostly did it since I feel bad at how bad the Toxdeal went.
Alright:
[]Weapons Are An Artform (Bruce Becomes a Fan of Airsoft)
[]Working with These Made me understand weapons better. (Increases the Firearms trait bonus)
[]And Now, American Guncultre can Be safe for kids... Kinda (Unknow Effect on Airsoft popularity... and how certain organizations view it)
Well a partial solution is that when Carrie moves in with Bruce, she can bring her Dalmatian Natalie to their home and Bruce will then become Natalie's co-owner, and Bruce can earn Debbie's respect by treating Natalie as his own. I'm unsure if Natalie at this point is more of a family dog, but she was specifically given to Carrie as a present on her ninth birthday, she deeply loved Natalie and for many years she refused anyone but her family and best friends to touch Natalie. That's kind of why I included her in Some Terrible Nights because I wanted to introduce the Dalmatian who seemed to be absent in turns and Omakes.
Yeah well, I thought Natalie the Dalmation was just to minor to appear in the updates at this point, with most of the time, Bruce almost always having important moments at his apartment.
If we want to get a second dog, I'm down for anything but my primary preference is a Cocker Spaniel or King Charles Cavalier. Other breeds I would be open to are Beagles, Pitbulls and Golden Retrievers, though maybe another Dalmatian for Carrie would be nice.
I'm going to be biased here, but I want to see a Labrador. They are so damn cute!
I'm also curious what the total list of items in the Marriage Challenge were, that would have been a fun quest.
Well the total list is as followed (at the hardest difficulty):
Own a House
Have about 100 million dollars (Since she knows were a producer and a smooth negotiator with our contracts... we'd be almost certian to do that)
Own a pet that survives for a year (A Dog most preferably)
Carrie must be at least 20, and not pregnant.
Debbie must agree to them marrying.
Must be well-liked by numerous producers in Hollywood (George and Gary and Francis don't count) so Bruce would have to play ball with the Hollywood elite.
And finally: Love Carrie. The easiest thing to win, but the most important.
Lol. Speaking of, I noticed an interesting dynamic when it comes to Bruce and Carrie. When it comes to very important steps and decisions in the relationship, Carrie has always taken the initiative and Bruce usually says yes with her preference after they talk about it. On the other hand, Bruce takes initiative and is the more confident one when it comes to everyday and simple stuff. Interesting reflections.
I mean, I thought it was funny. And then I started writing it and it was incredibly sweet.
HOLY SHIT. So I did some research and did the numbers, and let's say that hypothetically from this point on all other OTL films perform as exactly and our films never break top records. If that happens, Some Nights will become the fourth highest grossing film of all time adjusted for inflation, beating Star Wars and just narrowly missing Bronze to Titanic. Only Gone with the Wind, Avatar and Titanic will beat Some Nights, and that's just on the first run. I have no doubt in my mind greedy Universal is going to rerelease this film again, especially around Star Wars to curb Star Wars' gross and profit off of Carrie as Leia. If that happens then in all likelihood Some Nights is a shoe-in for second highest grossing film, and has a very definite potential to beat Gone With the Wind. Talk about the movie of a lifetime and the greatest debut that Carrie and John could ever have asked for.
All I'm goign to say is this:
Some Nights just revitalized the Hollywood Musical, as well as potentially start many careers from Broadway that might not have otherwise, or would not take off until later in the 80's.
There is also a very real thing about Low Budget movies with really good scripts now possibly being green lit by studios that now see the potential in those scripts they wouldn't have dared to try and green-light.
Basically, I must not understate this enough.
Remember the 90's when the Indie Boom happened? Or rather, think of the Exploitation Style of Filmmaking that is popular in this time.
Now imagine hundreds of films being given a small budget and green lit starting this year, until the end of the Decade?
Imagine that, in the late 70's?
There are going to be a lot of shit, and a lot of diamonds in the rough that are about to be made.
Outside of financials, very happy for Carrie and John that they had such awesome performances and have a chance to both win an Oscar, and if they do they will both be the youngest actors in history to win a Oscar for Best Actor, Actress, something you know Universal will rig with their profits. John is set for life and will likely land all of his major 70s hits along with going strong in the 80s. From here Carrie will not only have Cathy in addition to Leia as her signature roles, but she's going to be in HUGE demand for acting and writing, and she's going to deliver a double punch with Star Wars. This is literally the best possible film you could ask for your career.
John is now an A Lister.
Now Bruce is almost there, and not for lack of trying, but John just did a performance of a lifetime on Some Nights, and he catapulted his career into the stars. But John doesn't have the baggage that Bruce has.
And unlike Bruce, his reputation is clean and fully exploitable for Hollywood.
Finally on story stuff, it was adorable to see Bruce and Carrie strut down the red carpet as a power couple and Carrie earning her title as Princess. One thing I was a bit confused about was it seemed like this was Bruce and Carrie's first time at a major event and everyone just discovered they were a couple. I would have assumed that Carrie attended the American Graffiti premiere with Bruce, and from there probably the Emmys and Oscars and by then the two were very much established as a loving couple even with Bruce's media evasion. Did no one seriously know or was this just the papparazi going, "Oh shit, they're serious?!" Looking forward to Hollywood and America's reaction to the engagement and marriage.
It's less that no one thought they were serious, and more that Bruce and Carrie just acted like "Good Friends" And basically only a support group for each other, and Debbie asked us to be her boyfriend to keep Carrie away from other boys, as well as keep her safe.
they didn't think that we were actually dating, as, in the end.
So, its one helluva surprise to the Hollywood media, as well as many many... many people in Hollywood.
Also Bruce is really good at hiding from the MEdia, so there is that.
Hearing this, all I can think is "We need to make Star Wars an even greater success". I mean, from what I'm understanding, Some Nights has become an incredibly influential movie as other studios are going to try and imitate the formula and see what it is that made it work (and failing or misunderstanding, but still exploring new grounds). If we want Star Wars to retain its influence in the world at large, then it needs to be better than what its been shown so far.
Some Nights again: Single handily revived the Hollywood Musical.
It was that damn good.
Also, there is also the simple fact that Carrie wrote a script that was so air tight that not even the greatest of critics could claim she did a bad job.
Venice and Santa Monica are both pretty good locations. For the house, I'm fine with anywhere so long as its somewhere in the North or West of Los Angeles. Mainly because Beverly Hills is in the Northwest, and even if Bruce and Carrie aren't going to live in the Hills, I think it would be best for them to live close to Debbie and Todd so the two can visit Bruce and Carrie often and vice versa without a hell of a commute. In addition to some place with lots of space, remember what Magoose said, somewhere defensible to keep out raving fans and papparazi.
Once again, Bruce is a badass, but a mans home is his castle.
It should be able to defend against the masses of people that want to see them. And many other things.
From the pre-production we already got a ton of decent bonuses to Star Wars on top of ILM and our strong marketing department. I was thinking we should dedicate a few investment actions to increase Lucasfilms' overall budget and whereas Some Nights focused on music, we focus on technicals and storytelling to make Star Wars a revolution in cinema that completely changes how movies are made.
Well... Just because the quality of the Preproduction is good, dose not mean that when principal photography begins, there will be... problems.
remember during the OTL: In Lybia, it rained a lot.
Also I am willing to write a shit ton of Omakes. Like, I am willing to write an entire ass novels worth of stuff to get Star Wars to greater heights. First billion dollar movie, here we go.
Lets just hope that it will not be needed.
I think that there would be incredible things that you can gain.
I really don't want to give a reward for this, because it seems kinda cheap. Then I laughed.
[]So... It's a family thing? (New Action involving Working out with Carrie added)
[]I Am really not feeling alright. (Negates an Injury Roll for one person during the production of Star Wars)
[]So... Who's going to be wearing the Helmet? (The Mandalorians are now, officially, in the Star Wars World building, but are soon to be fleshed out)
So in regards to the wedding, one idea I had was that we have John be Bruce's Best Man. John is Bruce's Best Friend, they've known each other strongly for the past two years, and based off of Some Nights I would assume John is a very dear and close friend to Carrie. Outside of George and Todd, John is probably the closest non-family to Bruce and he was instrumental in helping to push Carrie's film debut be one of the greatest movies of all time, and will probably dedicate equal responsibility and care to wedding prep. John is the same age as Bruce, they're both New Yorkers and Irish Catholics, even without the wedding it seems like they're set within a few years to become brothers in all but blood.
Well... No I'm not going to say anything.
The only other people who would be on the same tier as John for the position are George, Todd and Gavin. George is a bit old with most of Carrie's bridesmaids probably her close friends in late teens and he probably wouldn't feel comfortable with the honor. Todd's a bit young for the responsibility. And while Gavin is a natural choice, he hasn't shown up once in the Turns yet so it makes me lean more to John.
Gavin is doing his own thing, and as much as he loves his brother, he's really unsure how to really continue.
For groomsmen I think Robin, Todd, Gavin are decent picks with maybe William, George and Alan. Would like Ron and Richard but I don't know if we stayed close friends with them and we don't really know Mark yet.
Ron and Richard might come if you ask, but they make no promises.
And there hasn't been a full thing of Star Wars Yet for MArk to become Friends.
A Long Island vacation home would be pretty great so we can regularly take vacations and keep in touch with our parents. Probably best to get one after Bruce and Carrie have their kids for family trips and reunions. We might also want to get a small home in San Rafael for when we're doing business with ILM and visiting George when he's at Skywalker Ranch.
All I'm going to say about George: He's going to love it when he has the money to make Skywalker Ranch and he can just chill there most of the time, and have people come to him, rather then doing other things, and worrying about that.
After doing some thinking, I think as cliche and pricey as it is, we should probably buy a home in The Flats of Beverly Hills. Not only does it keep us within great distance to Hollywood and the studios, but it's where Carrie grew up and had some of her fondest memories with a lot of her friends and loved ones there. Bruce probably knows what it's like to be homesick and have trouble adjusting to new places, so he might want to make her happy and comfortable by starting a new life and family in a familiar place. Plus perhaps most importantly, we'd be a few minutes from Debbie and Todd, or even walking distance depending upon the rolls (Their street and neighboring ones got some pretty FINE houses). Considering it seems any roll besides a nat 90s would have had Debbie express strong reservations or conditions for the marriage without the autopass, being able to easily see her daughter and son-in-law on a daily basis would probably greatly set her mind at ease and help to erase any remaining tensions.
All I will say is that you better Hope The Poperatzi might not decide to camp out to try and get the two lovers of hollywood.
Any story involving us will sell faster than Elvis tickets.
Also @Magoose , what's Carries earnings from Some Nights?
... I actually haven't rolled for that yet.
I know she was paid three million in acting fees and for the script rights, so let's see what she gained.
Time to do that:
D25 => 15
18 million in total.
Since she wrote the film, she had quite a lot of leverage to get a large percentage of the gross, in addition to her own acting fee of almost 3 million.
She walked away with a huge sum of money. A little bit less then what George made from American Graffiti.
