Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Yeah, and it's not that big a deal since we all know about Mavis, what she's done and gone through.
True, she's already been immortalized in the quest through the Sidestories for Pacific Rim and Amnesia anyways along with some of the Omakes. Not to mention that she'll likely also end up in the main quest updates as well if I choose the Oscar nomination reward for my 20 Questions Omake. Still kinda bummed I was never able to get her into the Writers Room before we got the upgrade that allows to make whatever we want.

Welcome! We always love new questors.

Yes, Bruce has done some voice acting. Off the top of my head, he has done a villain in Gundam and Nick Fury, though he may have done more that I simply don't remember.
those are both good roles to play.

I don't think our action guy bruce would fit, but if we have good relations with George Lucas still, getting in on the first land before time would of been fun, if only the quality did not decrease after the first movie. Lucas and Spielberg were producers of the first one.

I mean, Bruce is probably unfitting in the first movie, but if it was not going to be butchered in later sequels, voicing a tough dinosaur would be a fun Easter egg.

I like the questers' choices me more though.

I don't see any reason why The Land Before Time wouldn't be a Dreamworks film here, so it's very possible.

Videogame Pitch: Snatcher
Another game which I think would fit perfectly and not only because Hideo works with us now. Snatcher is really one of those games that have a truly fun story to go along with the gameplay, and though it may be a bit light when it comes to fighting as well as being a bit linear, it does work very well when it comes to premise and entertainment value. Really, I can't understand how Hideo did not make an entire franchise out of this game, considering that Blade Runner, the movie from which this was based on, became a cult classic.

Well, perhaps that might change this time around.

Overall, with the current interest in Cyberpunk, both here and in Japan (and seriously, many of our stories in our Japanese magazine are Cyberpunk titles or at least adjacent to said genre) I can see great things for this game, and with our Sega Console having a greater processor, then it can only achieve better graphic than one would expect this time around.

Thus, I give you:

Videogame Pitch:
Snatcher

Set Up: An action-adventure game. the Player character, Gillian Seed is working for a police organization named JUNKERS (Japanese Undercover Neuro-Cinetic Elimination Rangers) investigating the Snatcher-cases; Terminator-like robots, who eliminate people and take their places afterwards. The game is mainly played from the first-person-perspective, and the player has the following commands to use: "Look", "Investigate", "Talk", "Ask", and "Move" (there are additional options appearing when the situation calls for it), furthermore you have to purchase key items or gain important information from other people.

Game Developer: LucasArts Entertainment
Director: Hideo Kojima
Genre: Adventure, RPG, Visual Novel, Light-Gun Shooter

JUNKER:

Gillian Seed - The protagonist. An amnesiac with mysterious ties to the "Snatcher" menace. He joins JUNKER as its newest "Runner", a type of field operative.

Mika Slayton - The receptionist at JUNKER HQ. A young attractive woman of Japanese and Jewish descent.

Benson Cunningham - JUNKER's commanding chief. A veteran in the special forces. He is mentioned in game to be a former member of FOXHOUND.

Harry Benson- JUNKER's mechanic. A survivor of the Catastrophe. Designer of the robotic navigators "Little John" and "Metal Gear Mk. II." He also supplies Gillian with his blaster.

Metal Gear Mk. II - Gillian's robotic sidekick. A "navigator" who serves as an on-site forensic analyzer and has a built-in videophone.

Jean Jack Gibson - The only other living field operative of JUNKER at the start of the story. He has a robotic navigator of his own called Little John, which unlike Metal Gear, was not programmed with a voice. He is found dead by Gillian and Metal, his head completely wrenched off of his body by snatchers.

Other Main Characters:

Jamie Seed - Gillian's estranged wife, who was found alongside him, with no recollection of her past. Employed at Neo Kobe Pharmaceuticals at the start of the game.

Randam Hajile - A mysterious bounty hunter who is after the snatchers himself. Rides a one-wheeled motorcycle known as the "Road Runner". His name is "Elijah Madnar/Modnar" spelt backwards and resembles a younger Elijah.

Napoleon - Gibson's informant. A Chinese immigrant who suffers from a constant allergy from SNOW-9, similar to how winter was part of the Emperor Napoleon's downfall, hence the name.

Katrina Gibson - Jean Jack's young daughter. Works as a model. Her house is attacked by snatchers later on in the game but she manages to find refuge in Gillian's apartment.

Isabella Velvet - An award-winning film actress who also works as a dancer at the "Outer Heaven" night club.

Freddy Nielsen - A freelance Taxi Driver suspected of being a snatcher.

Lisa Nielsen - Freddy's young wife.

Ivan Rodriguez - An amateur air surfer also suspected of being a snatcher.

Chin Shu Oh - The Director of Queens Hospital.

Elijah Madnar - A Russian scientist involved in a top-secret Soviet project prior to the events of the Catastrophe.

Petrovich Madnar - Elijah's father, also a scientist. He fled from the Soviet Union alongside a young Harry Benson at the time of the Catastrophe.
Prologue:

Snatcher is set in the mid-21st century, fifty years after a biological weapon known as Lucifer-Alpha killed much of the world's population. In Neo Kobe City, a metropolis on an artificial island in eastern Asia, humanoid robots dubbed "Snatchers" have been recently discovered killing humans, donning their skin as a disguise, and replacing them in society. The Neo Kobe government quarantines the city from the outside world and establishes JUNKER, a task force to hunt Snatchers. The player takes on the role of Gillian Seed, an amnesiac who can only remember that his past, along with that of his estranged wife Jamie, is somehow related to Snatchers. He starts working at JUNKER in hopes that hunting Snatchers will bring his past to light.

Act 1: Snatch

After arriving at the JUNKER headquarters, Gillian Seed meets Mika Slayton and Chief Benson Cunningham, and receives a robot navigator named "Metal Gear Mk. II" from JUNKER's engineer Harry Benson. Metal Gear receives a distress call from Jean-Jack Gibson, the only other JUNKER agent, so Gillian travels there with Metal Gear, only to find a pair of Snatchers have killed him. They try to pursue the Snatchers, but are forced to make a quick escape as the factory explodes. Gillian begins searching for the identity of the Snatchers that murdered Jean-Jack, and after searching his house with the help of his daughter Katrina and speaking with his informant "Napoleon", Gillian identifies a pair of suspects. When hunting down the Snatchers, he is nearly killed but is saved by Random Hajile, a Snatcher bounty hunter.

Act 2: Cure

Random joins Gillian and Metal Gear as they travel to a hospital Jean-Jack identified as suspicious during his investigation. They learn it has been abandoned for several years and harbors a secret basement where they find skeletons of Snatcher victims. Among them, they find Chief Cunningham, meaning the JUNKER chief is a Snatcher. Some Snatchers attack the group, but Random distracts them to allow Gillian and Metal Gear to escape. Back at JUNKER headquarters, Gillian speaks to Harry briefly before he dies, having been mortally wounded by the Chief, and kills the Chief after Mika is taken hostage. Immediately after this, Gillian receives a call from Jamie, telling him she has regained her memories and is being held in the "Kremlin".

Act 3: Junk

Gillian and Metal Gear travel to an abandoned church resembling the Kremlin, where they find Jamie being held captive by a scientist named Elijah Modnar, who explains Gillian's past. He, his father and Jamie were involved in a secret experiment undertaken by the Soviet Union over 50 years prior during the Cold War to create Snatchers, which were designed to kill and replace world leaders, giving the Soviets more power. Gillian was a CIA agent spying on the project, who married Jamie and had a child with her, Harry Benson. Gillian and Jamie were placed in a cryogenic sleep when Elijah released Lucifer-Alpha into the atmosphere. The pair were saved by the army, and lost their memories due to the extended period of time they had been frozen. Having become corrupt with power, Elijah reveals that he intends for the Snatchers to wipe out and replace humanity as proof of mankind's follies; he also reveals that Random was an anti-Snatcher created by his late father based on Elijah's appearance and memories, and presents his deactivated body. At this point, Random reactivates and holds Elijah at bay, allowing Gillian and Jamie to escape. Metal Gear activates an orbital weapon, which destroys the Snatcher base, killing Elijah and Random. Having learned of a larger Snatcher factory in Moscow, Gillian prepares to embark on a mission there, hoping to destroy the menace and rekindle his marriage with Jamie.
A graphic adventure game and a visual novel. The player controls Gillian Seed as he investigates and hunts "Snatchers", dangerous humanoid robots disguised as humans roaming Neo Kobe City. The game's visuals are static images with some animations that display at the top of the screen. There is no point-and-click interface, with all actions made through a text menu with commands such as move, look, and investigate. The game's puzzles and dialogue trees are simple, lending to an emphasis on linear storytelling. Sometimes character panels are shown below the main graphics window during conversations to convey their facial expressions.

The game allows exploration of a semi-open world. There are a handful of action segments where the player shoots at enemies dispersed across a 3x3 grid.

A.N.: I can see this being released perhaps next year or the one after, especially since Kojima just recently made his debut with an assistant credit in Penguin Adventure. I know that OTL he made Metal Gear before this one, but I thought it would be fun to invert the order this time around.

To all the Riri Williams hate in the thread, I would like to point out that Riri is actually generally considered a pretty solid character these days, and that basically all of the criticism about her comes from her first few issues, with most of said criticism being grossly exaggerated by Dude Bros upset that Tony was out of commission at the time.

First impressions are hard to improve, especially one so bad that years later one cannot think of anything good to say about said person. Because, removing Tony Stark or not, you can't tell me that becoming a hero just because she wanted her teacher to be racist against her is a good way to be introduced.

If it was a restaurant, it would be the equivalent of bringing the food on top of a garbage lid.
Literally couldn't care less. This is basically the "Oh don't worry that the first few episodes sucked ass because it gets good later, I swear" argument. It's the same shit with Damien Wayne. There is literally nothing they can do with that character that will ever make me like him, his earlier material completely tainted him and it's the same here.
Hear, hear! I agree with your take on Damian as well. Seriously, he could be removed tomorrow and nothing of value would be lost.

Speaking of Comic related characters...Here's something for an ice breaker.

Marvel: Bask in my NEW CHARECTERS!

DC: ALL CANON SHALL BE OPTIMIZED TO ASSIST THE FILMS SO WE CAN SYNCHRONIZE THE CANON LATER WITH WHAT WORKS!

Charlton Comic: Pathetic Excuses...Watch this.

*COMPLETE UNIVERSAL REBOOT AND NEW CHARECTERS IN A NEW EXCITING EASY TO FOLLOW COMIC UNIVERSE!*

Marvel & DC: What the hell was that.

Charlton Comics: The Future OLD MAN!

Marvel: Oh yeah?

*Full expansion into Manga and Independent Comic Lines while optimzing Old Characters while streamlining its own Universe*

Charlton:...Show off (Sulking).

DC:... I'm not impressed! (Is impressed and Jealous).
DC: Well I make better films then all of you!

Marvel: Because one of our owners who is the best director in Hollywood, is literally making those films for you?

All this comic book talk has me wanting to do the Howard The Duck movie. Slightly weird way to get there considering we were talking Captain Atom and Galactus but...yep.

I've actually had a lot of what you're describing prepared for Charlton for ages now, I've just been holding off to avoid people complaining about me favoring Charlton over us and letting them hit milestones first. Well, that and I've tunnel visioned on boosting Undertale along with scrapping my original Omake for it. I've since decided I'm gonna do a different one to simultaneously introduce the Charlton changes along with a Fox purchase.

Man, all this talk of comics makes me want us to make Attack on Titan, that'd be a banger in this age of mecha, and can you really call titan-shifters anything but organic mecha?

Hold on, a Fox purchase? Murdoch would never allow it.

I think it's a good idea considering we own Marvel, George has always wanted to do one, and with our advances in CGI we won't have to be beholden to the animatronic suits, or perhaps we can convince Lucas to go full animated instead.

Not to mention, this time we can remain faithful to Howard's personality, and by 1984 we would have finally made peace with Gerber.
