Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Speaking as a fan from the book I always thought that is was because of the fact Harry got older, and finally paid attention a little bit.

And realized "oh crap I'm Harry Potter" and that is a bad thing

That because the entire story was plagiarized from a more better Harry Potter lookalike book that actually address thing in their setting and tried to change status quo rather then making sure it stays the same

Just leave JK alone, and as to whether Harry Potter ends up with Disney or us, I say we should at the very least make the attempt. I mean, not every one of our attempts at getting the rights for something works (let's remember how difficult it was to get Marvel under our control).

The Journey to the West is 2400 pages long. You could make an animated series on it and it'd rival One Piece without having to add anything not in the source material.
We just need to make a TV series of the novel. China basically does that every year. Frankly, I Preferred the 2011 version better than the 2010 version, it just captured Wukon's rebellious and selfish side better in my opinion.

I made a pitch for a Journey to the West animated TV show a while back, but I could make another for a Live Action adaptation. We could hire some good Hong Kong actors as well.

A journey to the west cartoon could be great.

I remember watching a version of it as a kid that I loved but can never find again. Aired around when Spider Riders was playing reruns

Also if anyone remembers Spider Riders I'd love to be able to make that here. Great show, great story, but definitely could do with a greater expansion on certain plot points they never got to address.

Anime Pitch: Samurai Pizza Cats
When I first saw the Samurai Pizza Cats I was not aware that it was an anime, mainly because by then the show just seemed more like a western cartoon in both the way they spoke, the stories, and the fact that at the time, with the rarity of anime, I just believed it to be an interesting cartoon. Not that it stopped me from watching it whenever it aired though, it was still miles above what I usually found on TV.

I just recently rediscovered the series, and despite having to deal with a great deal of nostalgia, I have to say that I think it does hold up... with some caveats. Among them is the voice acting, since I had forgotten how squeaky some of the voices were, and if possible I would change them for a bit more grave tone for the villains (or at least Bad Bird). At the same time, though I adore the parody and gags of the series, there must also be some moments of seriousness so that they can shine even greater when the joke hits.

Thus, I give you:

Anime Pitch:
Samurai Pizza Cats

GENRE: Action/Adventure/Comedy

SUBGENRE: Parody/Sentai/Mecha

FORMAT: Anime Series

Set Up: The pizza-delivery service Samurai Pizza Cats are also young samurai crime-fighters in their spare time, ready to spring into action from their headquarters above the pizza parlor whenever someone is in trouble. Protecting their myopic Princess and the city from forces led by The Big Cheese, they get into hilarious, action-packed scrapes, but always come out on top, mainly because the baddies are more incompetent than nefarious.

Animation: Sunrise Studios/Hannah-Barbera Studios
Series Director: Kunitoshi Okajima
Head Writer: Ardwight Chamberlain
Series Length: 52 Episodes

- Add scenes through the series hinting at a romantic development between Speedy and Polly. Don't make it overt, but there should be enough SO that it does not come out of the left field in the final episode.

- The characters voices (I.E. Speedy Ceviche and Bad Bird) are not squeaky.

- Don't overuse the Narrator.

- Keep the show as parody with gags, but also keep the serious moments and dramatic moments alone so as to emphasize when things get funnier later on, or when things are really dangerous.

- Keep at most only two clip shows, do not add the final one at the end.
Speedy Ceviche: He is the leader of the Samurai Pizza Cats. He is also a cheery, efficient guy who, as his name implies, is the most agile, nimble, and fastest ninja on his toes, a trait that comes in handy both when delivering pizzas and fighting crime. But due to his hot-blooded nature, Speedy often gets carried away with his emotions and can never abandon someone in trouble; it's for that very reason that Guido and Polly recognize him as their leader. He can also be rather cocky and big-headed at times, which inevitably leads to screw-ups where it really counts. Speedy used to be in love with Lucille and would come to visit her whenever he was free, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't seem to make his feelings known to her. Speedy eventually gave up on her and developed romantic feelings for Polly

Played By: Cam Clarke
Alternate: Alan Oppenheimer

Polly Esther: She is a member of the Samurai Pizza Cats. Polly also battles the forces of evil with the power of love; she plays her beloved flute before doing her roll call, her projectile weapons are heart-shaped, and she has a sword with hearts on the handle (Bitou Kirakira) with her special move, Heart Breaker, as the hidden power inside of it. Additionally, by raising her forearms and making a beckoning cat-like gesture with her hands, Polly can somehow generate a gravitational field that pulls her enemies in the close range of her razor-sharp claws, which leads to comedic results. Although Speedy is the leader, Polly does her fair share of bossing her teammates around. She has a dynamic, independent personality, but also has a dangerously short and violent temper.

Played By: Mary Kay Bergman
Alternate: Linda Gary

Guido Anchovy: He is the third member of the Samurai Pizza Cats. He is also the resident cool dude and the most relaxed member of the group. Guido is often seen chasing after girls, despite having little to no success in romance. He also has a laid-back, playboy-like attitude, but he does springs into action when crime is afoot (or when a dazzling damsel catches his eye). Guido's weapon of choice is the Samurai Sunspot Umbrella, which can fire rings, fire a heat beam, be spun to hypnotize enemies, and be used as a club (when closed) or a shield (when open). Its handle conceals Guido's sword (Pikapika) whose power is Ichimonji´s Fire. While he does get along with Speedy as a fellow employee and as Samurai Pizza Cat, they tend to fight over Lucille a lot, but that was before Speedy chose to be with Polly.

Played By: Dave Coulier
Alternate: Barry Gordon

Bad Bird: He is the third-in-command of the ninja crows. He also is Speedy's main rival. His greatest ambition is to be as evil and powerful as his father (who was the original Bad Bird or Dirty Bird). He carries out most of the Big Cheese's schemes to become the emperor or defeat the Pizza Cats. He sometimes spies on the Big Cheese when the Big Cheese talks to Jerry Atric about their latest plan. Bad Bird has almost defeated the Pizza Cats a few times. The main reasons why he fails are because the Big Cheese, Jerry, the Ninja Crows, or the robots screw up the plans, but he has also been defeated even when he fought the Pizza Cats by himself. Bad Bird usually wears a Japanese monk outfit (an outfit with a giant conical straw hat) when he's going out.

Played By: Jim Cummings
Alternate: Michael Bell

Seymour "The Big" Cheese: He is the prime minister of Little Tokyo. Seymour is one of the members of the royal council in the public image but has big ambitions to overthrow the emperor and take over Little Tokyo. As the supreme commander of the Ninja Crows clan, he tries to seize control but is invariably thwarted by the heroes or his own incompetence. He has the bad habit of literally exploding with anger every time he is disappointed at his failure, which usually happens near the end of every failed scheme. Cheese always appears fine after the explosion outside of minor slapstick injuries and being covered in soot. The room he is in, usually gets wrecked by the explosion. The Big Cheese is a flamboyant and openly gay showoff, prone to overacting, crossdressing, and flirting with male subordinates.

Played By: Dean Hagopian
Alternate: Rodger Bumpass
The Narrator: Like Speedy, he often makes witty or sarcastic comments, many of which spoof plot holes and clichés, and even reads the wrong narration. Occasionally some of his lines are changed, and a different, more "politically correct" Narrator takes over. The Narrator, besides providing voiceover for the episodes, also interacts with the characters, often aiding them or just moving the scene along when it seems stuck in place for too long.

Played By: Terrence Scammell
Alternate: Peter Renaday

Francine: She is the feline owner of the Pizza Cat Restaurant. She does not actively participate in missions, but still plays a vital role whenever the Samurai Pizza Cats are needed, either pizza delivery or battling evil. She also handles communications and finances and is known for speaking in rhyme. She has terrible aiming at most times when she fires the Pizza Cat Cannon, often times missing the target entirely, or sending the Pizza Cats flying through buildings.

Played By: Laura Summer
Alternate: Kath Soucie

Jerry Atric: He is an elderly crow and Big Cheese's trusted advisor and leader of the Ninja Crows. His voice of reason counterbalances the Big Cheese's impulsive nature. Despite that however, his ideas are not that smart either, usually getting in the way of victory against the Pizza Cats due to some sort of petty or insignificant action that the main enemy had caused against him, or against Seymour Cheese. He does seem to care for the Crows under his command though.

Played By: Michael Rye
Alternate: Lorenzo Music

Lucille: She is a Sheep Animaloid and the owner of a tea house, Lucille is the main object of both Speedy's and Guido's affections, and a primary cause of conflict between them. Her hairstyle and shoulder pads conceal a number of homing missiles, which are launched in Itano Circus fashion whenever she gets overly-emotional. She has an older brother named Wally, who works as a sushi chef. Polly and Lucille formed a music group named Pointless Sisters, but was a plot by The Big Cheese in the end.

Played By: Terri Hawkes
Alternate: Karen Bernstein

Big Al Dente: He is the chief of the Palace Guard. He is also the boss of the Samurai Pizza Cats and assigns their missions. Being a dog, he sometimes falls to his feral side, breaking out in furious barking, especially when frustrated by the Pizza Cats. One time, he separated them into the suburbs because of their incompetence. Later, the Pizza Cats return he and the Rescue Team admitted that they were wrong about them and they won't interfere again.

Played By: Frank Welker
Alternate: Don Messick

Princess "Vi" Violet: She is the Rabbit Animaloid daughter of Emperor Fred and unofficial ruler of Little Tokyo. She is rather spoiled, selfish, crazy, shallow, and temperamental. She has a tendency to banish all who displease her to Prisoner Island (which is actually a tropical paradise, but she doesn't know it) or, when the former is too crowded, Extras Island. She thinks her way is the only way (which causes problems to everyone and her way doesn't always go her way). She gets jealous when someone else gets more attention than her.

Played By: Liz MacRae
Alternate: Susan Blu

Guru Lou: He is an old cat who lives alone in the mountains outside of Little Tokyo. Whenever the Samurai Pizza Cats are in great trouble, they seek his advice, however reluctant he may be to give it. Through his own ineptitude, he helped the Pizza Cats unlock the power of the Supreme Catatonic. Jerry Atric says that Guru Lou found the Supreme Catatonic and took the credit of building it. The Pizza Cats don't know that he is really a fraud.

Played By: Walter Massey
Alternate: Pat Fraley
The Sundance Kid: He is the leader of the New York Pizza Cats, he uses twin six-shooters against his adversaries with pinpoint accuracy. He is also Speedy's #2 rival whose irritating ego puts him and Speedy at each other's throats. Like Speedy, he is the shortest of the New York Pizza Cats, but is 2 inches taller than Speedy and is overjoyed to have found him someone shorter than him.

Played By: Alan Oppenheimer

Dee-Dee: She is the only female member of the New York Pizza Cats and their counterpart to Polly Esther. She is a tall and curvaceous cat who uses a whip to punish the bad guys. She is very beautiful and easily won the attention of Speedy Ceviche and Guido Anchovy, even some of the Ninja Crows have trouble resisting her.

Played By: Linda Gary

Cosmo: He is a member of the New York Pizza Cats and the counterpart to Guido Anchovy. Like Dee-Dee, he is much taller than his Samurai Pizza Cat counterpart Guido. He is very suave and agile, being the epitome of the handsome foreign lady-killer. He uses a rapier in combat. When not acting as a superhero, he wears fancy clothes and foregoes his helmet, revealing him to have neck-length strawberry blonde hair.

Played By: Barry Gordon
General Catton: A member of the Rescue Team. Catton has a pair of flamethrowing cannons on his back. He is the leader of the Rescue Team. He generally speaks in clichés.

Played By: Michael Rudder

Bat Cat: A member of the Rescue Team. This cat uses a wing and propeller device to become airborne. His English name is most likely a play on Batman, though he does not resemble the character.

Played By: Richard Dumont

Meowzma O' Tool: This member of the Rescue Team has drills on his gloves, helmet, and tail that allow him to burrow under the earth. Meowzma is the only Pizza Cat that is married.

Played By: Mark Hellman

Spritz T. Cat: Unlike most cats, Spritz loves the water. He uses high-pressure water jets. The "T." stands for "the." His name is a play on Fritz the Cat, a comic book character created by Robert Crumb

Played By: Arthur Holden
Bad Max: He is the leader of the Rude Noise. He is determined to prove he can be a powerful warrior but fails to do so. His final fight was with Polly and Guido during the comet showdown and was last seen with his crew walking the streets of Little Tokyo in the aftermath.

Played By: Arthur Grosser

Cannonball Battery: He is one of the four Rude Noise members. He has a high-pitched voice, which is diametric to his rather large size. He also tends to make strange comments, such as wondering if hair coloring works on feathers.

Played By: Richard Dumont

Mojo Rojo: He is one of the four Rude Noise members. His final fight was with Polly and Guido during the comet showdown and was last seen with his crew walking the streets of Little Tokyo in the aftermath.

Played By: Gary Jewell

Ronnie Geissmuller: He is one of the four Rude Noise members, who specializes in marine combat. He was last seen with the other members walking the streets of Little Tokyo in the comet aftermath.

Played By: Michael Rudder
The Ninja Crows: They are Jerry Atric and the Big Cheese's personal army of henchmen, these crows are led by Bad Bird. They are often the first to face the Pizza Cats in battle, and, with a few exceptions, are defeated easily because the Big Cheese cut their training budget and he spent their money on dresses.

Emperor Fred: He is a Panda Animaloid and legal ruler of Little Tokyo, but Emperor Fred does not hold any real power because he is insane and tends to act like a scat singer. His usual utterance is simply his name ("Fuh-RED!") and takes to scat singing on some occasions. However, he does speak coherently in at least two occasions.

Carla: She is a crow and Bad Bird's childhood sweetheart. She has loved him since they were children and still has feelings for him. She affectionately calls him Birdy. She has a much calmer nature than the vast majority of the female cast.

Momma Mutt & Junior: This canine mother and her son appear to make a silly comment every time the Samurai Pizza Cats blast off on a mission. They can be surprisingly sharp-tongued, making social criticism toward both their own world and the real world.

Yard Bird: A hyperactive and very fast ostrich (though they are sometimes referred to as a roadrunner) that appeared occasionally, mainly as the Big Cheese's delivery person. They have a design defect that causes them to explode if they stop moving for more than two seconds.

A.N.: Perhaps we can make this for next year or the one after that, since I do like the idea of how the name they got was because there were already a team with the "Ninja" suffix in the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", thus they had to become Samurai in the end despite the original series calling them ninja.

It really did have a banging theme song. Also the transformations, the world building, the characters were all amazing.

I have absolutely no memories of this show, and I remember watching some really obscure stuff that I do not remember the names and I can only assume were licenced as a "and you get these shows as a freebie if you want that well know one" deal that somehow used to happen in the past

Shame. That show is epic and is def worth a watch. Underrated to the extreme

It's been a while so if you want a proper review your gonna have to look elsewhere but from what I remember it was pretty good, especially compared to some of the other shows I could find on basic cable. And yeah it could have done with some better writing at some points. Also I'd be willing to bet that a decent chunk of their music budget went into the opening song because they played it a lot. I can understand that to some degree because it's a great song though.

The writing overall was pretty damn good. The few points that needed it, in my opinion, was hitting some plot points or loose story/world building threads that never got wrapped up.

Seriously though, I would LOVE to see Lucasfilms make it.

Also the marketing potential of spider riders could definitely make Mike very happy.

Lucasfilms Upgrade 3
Lucasfilms Upgrade 3:

You have a little list… a little list.

Current Warchest: 12,425,235,623

Current Upgrades:

[]The Movie Writers Room Extravaganza: So the writer's room needs to be expanded… Holy fuck, does it need expanding. So you do the only thing that can be done. You take a look at expanding them, but spending tens of millions of dollars. Cost 400 million (The Writer's room will no longer produce films every six months, any film can be made without the script malus as there is now hundreds of writers and scripts being produced or purchased at a rate that is dizzying.)

[]The TV Writers Room Extravaganza: So Brandon basically came to you and needed to do one thing. He needs to upgrade and hire over a thousand tv writers for the shows that you want to produce in the future. And that means… well he needs money to expand. Cost 300 million (The TV writers room will see a large increase in quality.)

[] Pixar Computers: So Pixar needs more powerful computers. And Apple is offering at a discount. Cost 50 million dollars (Pixars quality increases)

[]LucasArts Expansion: The Lucasarts branch needs an expansion. So now its time to give them some love. Cost 100 mil (Can now produce three video game projects at once.)

[]Write in

AN: Write ins are going to be my approval, but know this.

I most likely will approve them all.
