Welcome Home Wayne Part 3
As you recovered from the attempt on your life and the assassins subsequent immolation the ballroom quickly turned into absolute chaos. Police burst in onto the scene as swarms of ninjas burst into the room. The police were not succeeding in holding of the ninjas and they were closing in on you. You swiftly ran to regroup with Pamela. Rebecca Carstairs began unleashing torrents of fire and numerous party goers (including Alberto Falcone, Paige Monroe, Maxie Zeus and half of the orchestra) began to pull out weapons and fire at the invaders. The room was in complete and utter chaos. You loudly attempted to shout and organize the group. Using your leadership skills you managed to organize the group and help avoid the trap the League of Shadows had set up. By corralling the guests into the ballroom they were attempting to set up a killbox to make it easier to eliminate all of you at once. To deal with this you began to organize the partygoers escape from the room.
However things did not go as smoothly as you hoped they would. In the midst of rallying the people and organizing the escape a man in armor and a monkey mask had managed to drop down from the ceiling undetected and landed a stunning blow against you. Due to being in the center of the crowd people couldn't effectively stop the monkey masked assassin with guns for fear of hitting other partygoers. Pamela moved to intercept but the masked assassin swiftly disarmed her and knocked her out. Katherine Kane then began engaging the masked assassin in hand to hand combat. Before you could fully get your bearings a knife was hurled with great speed at your shoulder. The armor underneath your suit prevented the wound from being lethal but the force of the throw was enough to knock you off of your feet. From the ground you could see a man with his mouth stitched shut grinning and readying another knife. Rebecca Carstairs was being ditracted by ninjas darting in and out avoiding her fire blasts but unable to get close to her so instead they flowed like water around her to get closer to you. The League was allowing partygoers to escape as your plan allowed them to and instead focused all of their efforts on pinning you in place. Things were not turning in your favor as the League was closing in on you despite your plans success in evacuating the other guests.
The man with the mouth that was stitched shut grinned and hurled his knife at you but instead at Katherine Kane hitting her in the small of her back and distracting her allowing the monkey masked assassin to send her sprawling with a powerful blow now that her defense had been broken. You stood back up but before you could recover the masked assassin had already darted towards you and hit you in the stomach likely shattering a few ribs. It seemed as though the League of Shadows was determined to end your life. You would not go down without a fight and you pulled out a pistol you had hidden on your person. Before you could kill your assailant the masked assassin was suddenly struck by a figure dressed like a bet. The two costumed individuals proceeded to fight with the masked assassin. The man with his mouth stitched shut pulled out another knife. You refused to allow him time to properly throw it. You fired at him repeatedly but the man chose to run and managed to avoid your gunfire. As you run out of ammo and had to reload the man with the stitched mouth managed to throw the knife at your pistol knocking it out of your hands. He then proceeded to pull out another knife and grinned as he slowly advanced on your position. Before he could finish you off however a gunshot rang out and a chandelier was dropped on the assassin. In all the chaos of the fight Katherine Kane had managed to get her hands on a gun from one of the fallen party guests and had shot the support for a chandelier, dropping it on the man with the stitched mouth and possibly knocking him unconscious. The police then managed to break into the ballroom and had defeated the ninjas held outside. Seeing that he wouldn't succeed in his mission the masked assassin disengaged with the man dressed like a bat and dropped a smoke bomb fleeing from the room. By the time the smoke cleared both the monkey masked assassin and the figure dressed as a bat had disappeared from the room.
The police came and took the statements of the people involved in the incident. You, Pamela and Katherine were commended for your bravery and effectiveness in saving others and engaging the assassins. Carstairs was treated with fear and suspicion as the whole world now knew that she did in fact have some kind of supernatural power. You left the party injured with three broken ribs but Katherine was more convinced than ever that signing on to your security force was the right move and you had come out of this night a hero to the numerous Gothamites scared in this attack. It only helped further your image that you not only organized the escape of the other guests but also left last unlike Bruce Wayne who disappeared basically at the start of the attack and wasn't seen at all by anyone else making him look like a coward compared to you. The league had failed in bringing you down.
Results: League of Shadows defeated at the party. Lex is now more popular than ever in Gotham (and in Metropolis following the attack). The League has thoroughly tarnished their image. Batman has grown suspicious of the League of Shadows and has begun investigating. Bruce Wayne's public image is now slightly tarnished as he is viewed as a coward. Katherine Kane feels she is needed to work at LexCorp security.
