Sorry for the slow response, IRL stuff took longer than expected. Also you're good on the question.
No problem on the slow response I'm just glad I didn't annoy you by asking something you've already answered.
It is possible to recruit some of the scientists you passed on without going for the Recruit Doctors action again. Helga Jace for example could be recruited through sabotaging Wayne Enterprises. Additionally I'll state that recruitment actions (or a really high new tower roll) involving France can get you Guy Dax. I'm not going to get too into it but there are several different actions you could take (though some are more focused than others) that would net you a doctor from this subvote without specifically repicking the option again.
What about Milo or the unaffiliated metahuman experts (Barden and Angelico)?
Jack Edison can get involved in Lightyear Entertainment if you do some more Lightyear stuff in the next few turns though it'll likely be in a different capacity. Additionally for the Lightyear stuff I'll remind people that you got the Chloe Decker stuff that'll specifically make doing certain Lightyear things harder if you do it at the same time.
Woot! I really hope we'll still get the Roxy co-op bonus.
And by the same time you mean in the same turn right?

What about Milo or the unaffiliated metahuman experts (Barden and Angelico)?
Milo's in Gotham and Barden's in Canada so you can try recruiting actions in those places to try to pick them up. IIRC (and I might not be) Angelico has ties to Cadmus in the comics so you can try pulling at that thread and seeing if you get anything out of it. I'm not giving you a direct 1 to 1 guide on how to get them and I might be a bit inaccurate in what I'm saying (I'm not checking my notes) but broadly speaking I am pointing out that there exist other ways to get these hero units.
And by the same time you mean in the same turn right?
Yes

A thought I just had, with how happy Herbert Winston is with us for tracking Amy down we might be able to get him to serve as a teacher for Artemis if we get her.

Also on a random note I've been rereading parts of the quest and Marie's section at Ivor's funeral still makes me tear up a bit. I'm really glad we're close to helping her, though a part of me still thinks we should have her undergo the language spell before roboticising her for maximum gains.

In the long run we could also probably get him to be a staff member in any school we build.

I can't wait to read her reaction once we eventually get around to reading Ivo's Brain scans and get him Roboticized.

True though we could probably get better options if we really wanted to.

Unfortunately even if we do end up doing that it will probably be a while since we'd probably want to be sure we can alter him a little bit.

Oh I know it'll be a few turns at least but hopefully it'll happen sooner rather then later. Amazo would be useful to have around once Zod makes his move. I'm getting tired of having to rebuild the city and would rather not have to do it as much once another Big Bad shows up.

Zod will show up well ahead of Ivo finishing Amazo. We'll likely be relying on Odin and task force 8 plus our and the G7s superhero teams instead, possibly with robotic and drone army support.

If you want to really screw with the Kryptonians then learn miniature sun creation from Brainiac's tech (it was already an option) and then produce a few red suns all over and sap them of all of their power for a much easier time. Bonus points for figuring out how to create miniature Kryptonite suns for an insta-win

Hey, Clark Kent? It's Lex Luthor, I love your columns. You should come over and check out my cool thing.

I doubt it would be that easy but a man can dream.

The only problem I see with this is finding a feasible excuse why we have all these red suns without giving up the game.

So I figured I'd give a status report of what's going on. Between mid-semester review week being next week, corresponding with lawyers in foreign countries, having gotten involved with a conference, and more, I've kind of not been able to work as much as I'd like to on things. The update is coming and I'm about 50% of the way there and so I hope to get something headed your way come Saturday. That being said I make no promises and the rate of work has slowed down as classwork and IRL obligations ramp up. I'll try and get something fast and fun up for you guys this week though the priority is first on IRL stuff and then on getting the update out. Depending on how fast things get polished, I may break the update into further small chunks and I am working on the updated character sheets. Not sure if I'll be sharing the drafts for a third time but that's in the pipeline as well.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

So just a really random easter egg that I don't think people picked up on that I thought might be neat to point out, one of the orphans mentioned in the interlude that detailed Jinx's backstory shares a name with an orphan from the orphanage Voldemort grew up in (Billy Stubbs). Another one shares a name with Amethyst (it's not the same character, it's just a reused "generic" name).

Where are characters from?
So a quick fun thing. If there's anyone you'd like to see added to the list, please feel free to let me know.

Where are Characters from?
I figured it might be neat for you guys to have a semi-official list of what country various characters were born in. For characters born in the United States I'll also be listing which of the 50 states they were born in. Lastly I'll be marking characters who I'm not sure where they were born with a (?). I'll still be providing information but that information is subject to change and revision and someone else can fill in that gap/contradict it with a canonized omake.

So no rabbits hanging from the rafters?

If we are not planning on having Talia and Vic help Helena then we can have them go after Le Blanc and have Nygma + Brittney look for Richard Dragon.

Another fun one is if we don't plan on Rene giving therapy to anyone this turn then she and Lucy can team up on a +53 Diplomacy action - up to and including helping Lucy with a potential political campaign, but also a Kord Communication collaboration.

It also occurred to me that Fire and Ice make for a strong Diplomacy duo. Together with Lance, they can announce our Superhero team to the public with a cool +62 , leaving Marie open either to Join Rene + Lucy (for a +76 Diplomacy team-up) or alternatively be put on an action to recruit people or whatever to try and get that trait, or any other type of action.

...and this is on top of whatever headaches we get by the time turn 32 kicks in. Man what a drag.

P.S: Enoch brown can join Emily to teach Cassandra about animals for a +96. I'm not sure what we stand to gain from that action and I think that it's far from optimal, but I can't ignore such a powerful team-up.

We still have to take an action to form them into a team before we can promote it. At this point they are individual sponsored heroes. We need the appropriate action to bring them together and form an official superhero team.

Not a bad idea, though there is also the option to have nightshade go after him while having Talia and Elaine set up a spy network. Tracking down RD will certainly keep Brittany occupied.

There is also the option to meet with Amy. We don't get many chances to bring a Lord of order into our group.

Yes, I meant that forming the team is a Diplomacy action that they can take with Lance rather than promoting it. My mistake.

I don't think that Nightshade's trait would activate for Le Blanc, since his location is not known and finding him would require an investigation. Compare this to mandragora (for example, sabotaging his operations) which is largely dealing with known factors and thus something that she should be capable of doing (Helena is aware of his operations)

I am also somewhat hesitant to have Talia be a part of the team that forms us a spy network due to her mixed loyalties, which admittedly lean to our side at the moment but still.

There is also the option to meet with Amy. We don't get many chances to bring a Lord of order into our group.

We will need to see the DC for and if Oswald's trait activates so that we may put him on the action by himself, but yes, that's also something worth a solid investment.

"When" is another question to consider. It would be likely that the man who would become Ra's al Ghul lived during the times of the original Assassins and took over the order after its supposed destruction. Which is why I thought of Syria and Iraq. Northern Iran would also make sense, since it was not only a place of power for the Assassins, but a longtime center of the Seljuk Empire.

I haven't detailed that one way or another but I don't think young Jinx would have wanted to hurt a rabbit at all with her magic.
Wouldn't the location correspond better to modern Iraq and Syria?
Not really. This is where knowledge of history comes into play and you can potentially expose a gap in my knowledge. I know that in quest, canonically, Ra's al Ghul was born in the path of the Crusades. As such using my knowledge of the general route the crusaders took, I lined up that modern day Turkey would likely be the correct country and then half-remembered a map of the Seljuk empire to guess that.

Looking at the general path the crusaders took, while the Seljuk Empire certainly covered modern day Libya and Iraq, they don't line up with where Ra's al Ghul was actually born (in the path of the crusades). There's still a lot of wiggle room, but I'm pretty sure where modern day Turkey is lines up best with where Ra's al Ghul was born. Whether or not I'm talking about what was the Seljuk empire or the Byzantine empire I'll leave up to someone with a bit more knowledge of history to determine/an interest in detailing that out in writing.

Edit: I'll also say that IIRC in the original Denny O'Neil origin, Ra's al Ghul was born to Chinese immigrants in a nomad tribe in the middle east. While I'm not quite going with that, I do at least want to keep Ra's being born in the middle east so I can confirm that Ra's al Ghul is not Serbian or Bulgarian, even though that would square away nicely with the whole "in the path of the crusades" bit. His place of birth was both in the middle east and in the path of the crusades.
Guess no Byrne "birthing matrix" shenanigans for him in this version.
Yup, no birthing matrix shenanigans.
