Does anyone know who this is, because I may have forgotten who this might be. (Certainly not Lex; he'd cringe himself to death if he ever went by a name like that.)
I mean I'll help organize the information Barbara's POV provided, little as it is. Keep in mind that all of this is from Barbara's POV so there is some chance of her perception being wrong or tainted.

  • The person in question operates under the name "Big Uncle".
    • This suggests that the person behind all of this is male.
    • The rest of the name itself doesn't clear things up too much but the person who selected the name wanted to be seen as large and familial when operating with others
  • The person in question operates out of Metropolis and sells pieces of advanced tech to Gotham based mobsters
    • This suggests that it can't be someone like Parasite or Metallo who are totally unmotivated by money and wouldn't bother engaging in this sort of behavior of their own free will.
  • Barbara doesn't consider "Big Uncle" as someone an "old school gangster" would normally associate with, which suggests that he's not someone like Bobby Gazzo, who's a more traditional mobster type who in the comics operated out of Metropolis.
That's not a ton of information but it should help you at least field some guesses.

I'm guessing it's this guy I found called Karl "Big Uncle" Lukaz.

He's a mobster who acts like a legitimate businessman who donates to a lot of charities. He calls his henchmen nephews and keeps them in line by collecting evidence against them during their early crimes and if they "act naughty" he threatens them with the evidence.

Oswald Cobblepot was his own kind of crook, mixing in some of the worst parts of politicians, and arms dealers all while keeping himself clean enough that no one had brought him in on anything.
He really is our little mini-me.

If it's someone in Metropolis producing hypertech gear for criminals, there's a good chance that it's a robot serving as a front for Toyman.

Okay. Maybe there's a middleman.

Oswald has always wanted the three things lex has in aboundance. Significance, Admiration, near untouchability. It's only natural he try to shape himself in lex's image.
Minor point of clarification, Oswald's not deliberately shaping himself in Lex's image. He simply lacks Lex's capacity for science/invention to truly "shape himself in Lex's image". There are definitely similarities, but I'd like to note that Barbara's observations in this section don't give you the full sense of Oswald Cobblepot.

Edit: Simple point of comparison, no one calls Lex by some kind of moniker like "the Penguin" like they do with Oswald Cobblepot. Barbara even does it in her POV, freely switching between them in the same sentence.

Edit #2: To kind of amend my previous statement, it's less deliberate shaping in someone's image and more convergent evolution.

So Penguin is somewhat "Parody!Lex"?
I would not consider him so. Parody is reliant on exaggeration so if you're not in some way exaggerating something that's already present in the original then you are not doing parody. Penguin's not really an exaggeration of Lex in any meaningful way and a lot of the key points of divergence (Lex is an inventor, a father, and doesn't really socially interact with the public all that much. Oswald actively pursues romantic affection, is a bit of a gourmand, and has a hobby of collecting weaponry, including weaponry he'll never use. I could probably find more personality differences that don't really have an equivalent in the other).

I don't know how much people would agree with this but I feel if Oswald's a "parody" of anyone, he's a parody of the Court of Owls. On a superficial level both have bird theming and both have links to the founding of Gotham making them appear similar. Oswald's arguably a "parody" of the Court in that he's way more obviously an unrepentant criminal profiting off of misery and death he has engineered to gain power whilst still pretending to be a respectable high society individual. That's the exaggerated element, that Oswald is who the Court of Owls would be if everyone could see them for the terrible people they are.

Edit: Stuff like claiming to be owed dues due to family lineage going all the way back to the founding of Gotham, and pretending that you're a respectable "gentleman" because you wear fancy suits, have a lot of money and can talk about ostensibly "high class things" are things that both Oswald and the Court of Owls do. The point where Oswald becomes a "parody" of the Court of Owls is that when he does it, nobody buys it because he's so obviously shady/evil that they don't buy his nonsense, and his attempts to do so become somewhat farcical.

Although I ran out of steam for the Metropolitan Clan omakes years ago and doubt I'll regain it any time soon, it was planned to be revealed that one of Oswald's ancestors was actually a prominent steel magnate who introduced the industrial process that finally knocked Luthor Steam & Steel off their pedestal as a steelmaking firm some time in the late 1870s or early 1880s, something like that. Occupying some of the same historical space Andrew Carnegie did, arguably.

If that's the case, it might well be historical happenstance that Oswald himself isn't on the Court of Owls, since I gather they're basically a collection of Gotham's "old money" families that secretively screw over Gotham from behind the scenes to ensure they can maintain more control over the place.

So I'll give some potential spoilers about Gotham's history in quest.

It's arguably historical happenstance that none of the three "founding families" (Waynes, Cobblepots, and Arkhams) of Gotham are currently on the Court of Owls in the modern era. Had things gone a little differently, Oswald would have been on the court. To add onto this, the Cobblepots also had a connection to the Lydecker family which means that if things had gone a bit differently, Oswald could have been a member of some variation of the Terrible Trio (maybe at that point they'd have been called the Fearsome Foursome).

Oswald Cobblepot could have been a part of two separate conspiracies had things gone a little differently in history.

Edit: Also I didn't quote this section initially but I wanted to point out as a little interesting bit of background for people, in the New Earth continuity of the comics (the pre-flashpoint stuff), Oswald's family got rich off of the steel industry and then lost their wealthy trying to make it big in the hotel industry. I'm not going one to one with the New Earth continuity but the hypothetical reveal about Oswald's ancestor in the Metropolitan Clan actually cleanly lines up with comic continuity.

I'm not pulling one to one from the New Earth continuity (the Cobblepots helped found Gotham), but I think it's an interesting bit of trivia for people to know.

For the same reason the Luthor name wasn't on the Declaration of Independence, Oswald was away on business at the time?

Hmm I wonder if he's bought and renovated Cobblepot Manor? He has the Iceberg Lounge but if he's trying to appeal to the "Old Money" he might get it fixed up for any meetings/parties with high society.

I'd like to direct your attention to the following
Gotham's Founding Families: 400 exp (Learn of the history of this dark and crime ridden story and see the tragic journey of the three founding families of Gotham, The Waynes, The Cobblepots and the Arkhams and learn the truth behind many of the rumors and secrets of the city)
If you've got four hundred exp to spare and you really want to know more about the founding of the Court of Owls and why say Bruce Wayne or Oswald Cobbelpot are not on the Court, you can buy this interlude and eventually that question will be answered.

...You know what? I've got the exp, I'm very curious, and it's not like I've been doing much with my exp anyways. Put it down on my tab; 400 exp to learn more about the Founding families of Gotham, please.

For the same reason the Luthor name wasn't on the Declaration of Independence, Oswald was away on business at the time?
Linus(?) Luthor, the patriarch of the family at the time of the Revolution, didn't particularly want his name on the Declaration and didn't seek the, ah, somewhat risky honor of representing the state of Maryland at the Continental Congress.

The American Revolutionary War: 500 exp (witness the war in which the United States first formed and the numerous events that occurred with in it and would later ripple onward throughout the history of this country)

The New Gods: 500 exp (Learn about the various legendary figures amongst the new gods and the various events that makes them who they are. This post will lack a narrative through line and will mostly be world building on who the New Gods are but I guarantee that there will be surprises in this and many overlooked gods whose roles may end up being critical in the wake of things to come)

I can't decide between these two

I suppose that the way I'd actually describe the relationship between Lex and Cobblepot is that the Penguin has been watching Lex with admiring and envious eyes... and taking notes. Lex is an example of the success that Cobblepot very much wants to have, while still being shady enough that he doesn't have to throw out his whole playbook. So he's not shaping himself in Lex's image, but he is emulating the man in some ways... in part, riding Lex's coat tails to do it.

He sees that Lex is capable of maintaining good PR, and gaining benefits from it, while not having to be all moralistic. This Penguin is more of a legitimate businessman than most, and more welcome in polite company. I seem to recall that he pitched in for the Brainiac invasion, to a degree, and reaped some real PR rewards for his efforts. The original Penguin would never have done that. He wouldn't have thought to.

He sees the benefits that Lex gets from dealings with shady government agencies. You can get away with all sorts of dark dealings when the person on the other side of the table is a representative of the government... and come out the other end legally safer than when you went in. He used Lex as his point of contact at first (and got our advice, I seen to recall) but then really leaned in on it.

Huh. I've just realized... well, Gotham has a number of low-tier supers floating around in various ways. Penguin currently has both the money and the legitimacy to officially sponsor one or more superheroes. It would even be excellent cover. There's nothing illegal about picking your targets, after all, which means that Penguin's sponsored heroes could essentially serve as his soldiers in staking out his turf while also making him look good... and if Batman comes after them for operating in "his" city, then the Bat is the only one of the two on the wrong side of the law. Now... a *lot* of them will have been snapped up in one way or another already, but probably not *all* of them, and even if the Gotham well runs completely dry, it's not like he can't poach from elsewhere.

Well I suppose we know whose been providing criminals in Metropolis with advanced technology, now it's just a question of if we want to do anything about it.

Iirc one of the main reasons why the Wayne's aren't members of the Court is because they had a habit of not telling their heirs about all their family's dirty secrets out of fear of betrayal which made them increasingly unaware of things until eventually you got a Wayne who didn't know anything about the Court or how dirty their family's hands actually were.

Very nice though in regards to eventually doing some guys, I wouldn't exactly be shocked if the AI is more experienced at creating pictures of women for… reasons.

Well I suppose we know whose been providing criminals in Metropolis with advanced technology, now it's just a question of if we want to do anything about it.
I say if he doesn't become a problem or overt about it then we should let it lie for now. We have bigger fish to fry right now with the whole Zod and Trigon situations, so some guy handing out Super tech is fine to leave for now. We're never going to get all the criminals left in the city so unless he oversteps or Superman becomes involved let the police handle it.

You know, apropos of nothing I was doing a bit of a reread of recent updates to refresh my memory and I'd almost entirely forgotten that Cassandra has that chi perk now.

I still can't help but feel like that was a waste given how ambiguous chi is, how unlikely we are to ever use it, the action economy necessary to even begin doing so and the better options we had to give up for it. I'm really not sure what people were thinking there.

Sorry for the mini-rant, just got a little bit frustrated while rereading and wanted to vent.

So I'm going to be doing some commentary on the AI art. It's always interesting seeing this kind of stuff.
This commentary could apply to all of the art pieces but I find it interesting that the AI gave Eve a wine glass in all of the more formal settings. It's not super deep, it's just a neat bit of association to pick up. I'll also say that broadly speaking I like all of the dresses for Eve in the more formal settings. As a minor note, I think it's interesting that of all of the images generated of her, this is the only one in which Eve is wearing a ring on her ring finger. It's an interesting quirk of this particular image, though I'll note that Eve is not married.
So now we get to see my meager understanding of art come into play. The stance here feels like an attempt to imitate a contrapposto stance what with the one leg forward and the hip jutting out.

On to some of the weirdness, the lighting in general is a little weird (there's a strong shadow on the left collarbone but her left shoulder is also lit up as though a light source is directly on it for example). The canteen is kind of just floating in the air, there's a weird cloth band wrapped around at least one of her fingers on the hand on the right. Additionally one of her thumbnails appears to be a different color than the one on her other hand.

I'll say that I think this is meant to be the "slumming it" outfit from the spoiler title, but this actually looks like a really well coordinated outfit and maybe it's the presence of the canteen or the model-esque pose but to me this kind of feels like a potential ad for women's outdoor wear or something.
Another generally solid image. As always there's some jankiness (her middle find is crooked and part of her dress bends a little weirdly) but it's not too distracting. For me the bit of weirdness that seems to come from this is that it almost looks to me like she has two different eye colors. I'm curious if others can see that was well?

I will once again comment on the dress design but I think the cutouts on her side are a fun little flair to the design and I could see it being a more risqué sort of dress Eve would wear.
I've only noticed this now but does everyone, including the background characters, in the "company event" style pictures have black or white hair? I'm curious as to if that's an actual bias of the AI and why it might have that. Overall I don't have too much to comment on here that I haven't said before.
I don't have too much to say about this image. There's some AI weirdness (hands have weird wrinkling), and I find it kind of funny that her "casual" outfit involves a necklace, a bracelet and earrings that all appear to be expensive. Beyond that though there's not much to comment on, and this is an outfit I'm pretty sure I've seen people wear out and about in California.
So I don't remember if I've ever commented on Siobhan's hair before but I'll state that outside of the most modern stuff, she generally tends to have long hair. This kind of hair style seems to be pulling more from the cyberpunk and rocker aesthetic than Siobhan as she's been depicted in most media. I think this hairstyle kind of works for her.

I do really like the outfit. Some of the metal "techy" bits around the wrist and belt in my opinion aren't the best (they feel superfluous) and but otherwise this is a pretty solid outfit. I do like the jacket a lot though.
So I'm not going to say too much about this one. I like the hair here the most but there's also something really weird going on with the earrings, especially on the right side of the image.
So the hair here is interesting, it feels like it's somewhere in the realm of a Joan Jett or a Ziggy Stardust type of deal. It's a fun "rocker" kind of look and not something I typically see all that much. As ever there's AI weirdness (Siobhan's pseudo elf ears, the spikes on the right wristband not being uniformly sized, the guitar pegs being at weird angles and the classic finger weirdness) but I actually really like the outfit here for Siobhan. The spiked guitar strap is also a nice little touch to bring in a bit of punk to the aesthetic.
So this is also a really fun outfit and hairstyle for Siobhan. I like the leather jacket again and I think there's some fun asymmetry with the one wristband and the one earring, as well as the rings on one hand. It's neat without getting lost in the sauce on asymmetry.

So the guitar is super messy. Something about this guitar screams that the bottom part of it is completely flat while the top has depth, strings appear to vanish, there's weird white dots on the fretboard and the pegs on the head are misaligned. The guitar just looks wrong to me and I can't look at it for too long without pondering what exactly is throwing me off about it.

Also some funny background stuff for this image in particular, there's a poster with what looks to be a silver banshee head above the bed and the lamp in the background appears to be placed on top of a speaker instead of a dresser.
I'm going to be light on the comments for the Tora pictures for the most part. They're all generally solid and I like all of the different sweater designs.

That being said something about this one in particular makes me feel like the face is being modelled off of Emilia Clarke's (the actress who played Daenerys in Game of Thrones). It might be because I'm associating white haired women, but something about this one picture in particular gives me that association whereas all the rest don't.
I don't have much to say here at all beyond that I think of the four images this one looks the best.
Again generally solid picture, I'm just going to comment on AI weirdness as I think the face looks a little odd because the pupils aren't the same size and the "rosy" elements of the cheek are a little too perfectly circular.
Again I don't have two much to say. The ring attempt is weird and I think the version of Tora here looks visually the oldest of the bunch. I like the hair here less than in the others as it feels a bit too straight and flat whereas the others have some "bounce" to them. I'm not a hairstylist, I don't know if I'm speaking sense, but the hair here does feel different to the others.
So this is fun. You practically never see Fire be depicted as this dark skinned in DC comics. I kind of like it as it helps her stand out a lot more when compared to others. I also really like the ombre in her hair here. It gives it some flair that's fun.

So when looking at the belt, initially it looked to me like the AI was trying to replicate a Gucci or Gancini logo but I also learned that double loop buckles are a thing so it might just be an attempt at that. I kind of like the look and think it's interesting. The earrings are also really fun. There's some AI weirdness with the hands and I'm sure I could poke at more but this is overall a really solid look.
Of the two Beatriz images, I'm less fond of this one. I think the gold watch, the medallion/necklace, and the gold hoop earrings all work well and look good without feeling tacky. I'm less fond of the hair, something about the darker tone with less variance doesn't look quite as good as the mixed shades of the previous picture.

I'm also less fond of the color balancing. I actually think it's because the top is a light green that goes with the hair's green, but the white nails and the light blue jean shorts feels off to me. I'm not a fashion designer, but I feel like this look would be better if the top was white or if the jean shorts were a dark shade and her nails matched her hair color. I can't quite articulate why I think that, but that is my general opinion on the outfit.
The human disguise Starfire pictures incorporation of "mustard pizza" is cursed and I love it. On first glance I thought that the yellow things were Etrog slices (Etrog's are a fruit that as far as I know are solely used in a Jewish holiday). It was only later when I realized that those were dollops of mustard.

I really like the purple shoulder-less top as an outfit choice for Starfire with how it harkens back to her costume and it looks good. The freckles feel well balanced and I like the sort of happy-go-lucky vibes I get from her face.
There a lot of little details in this picture that I think are funny. The mustard dispenser in the middle of the table is the most obvious one but there are more. There's the face that the knife is positioned in the opposite direction of how it should be (blade pointing towards Starfire), the fact that the liquid in Starfire's glass kind of looks like white wine, and that the people in the background (at least to me) appear to be drinking olive oil or something. None of it's intentional but it adds something to this picture.

I think this is the most "average teenage girl" looking of the images and the freckles, while a lot more present, do give some character to the image/disguise. I liked the brighter green eyes of the previous picture more as an artistic element, but I feel like this would be a better image for a disguise meant to more thoroughly fool people.
This one also has a few details I find really funny. There's the return of the mustard pizza, with three different versions of it. Personally I find the one that looks like a Chicago style pizza that then got a ton of toppings piled onto it, to be amusing as that convex shape is unnatural for a pizza and it amuses me to think of why that pizza is shaped that way. Next I know that this occurred due to the AI not quite managing to match the color of the liquid in the glass on the right to the table to mimic opacity of water, but combined with it looking more like a solid block, it doesn't seem like water to me. It could be juice, but I like to imagine that it's actually water with highly diluted mustard mixed in, in part because of proximity to the bottle of mustard.

As for the image itself, something about it feels vaguely Pixar-esque to me. Maybe it's the very obvious hourglass shaped body leading me to associate it more with cartoons, maybe it's the relative lack of texturing on the hair or maybe it's something else, I can't quite place why I feel that this looks somewhat like Pixar's stereotypical art style. I do think it looks good though.

I'll say that pretty much any of the Starfire images could qualified for the "foreign exchange student" entry. Let me know if you want to claim this entry and I'll put more work in my backlog as appropriate.

I've generated several more images for the quest and I'm steadily getting better at it. I should probably start generating images for guys too lol
I appreciate you adding more images and continuing to try and push yourself to be better. I appreciate you posting this stuff and I'll comment that there's definitely an evolution across the stuff you've posted that's cool to see. You earn 400 exp for this and if you want to claim it, you can get one of the fan art contest entries.

Edit: I made a mistake in awarding exp, you actually got 500 exp. I've made the correction when applying the changes on the informational sheet listing how much exp you've got.
There also Grogarians, or whatever these Alien slavers (that might attack Earth due to chasing after Koriand'r/Starfire) are called
Gordanians is what they are called.
