While I don't fully agree with A, B is a great point. Substituting Meena for Vic reduces the team's strength to +87 from +97, but Meena's specialization in physics and Kryptonite would more than compensate. On good rolls, we may even learn both abilities at once outright.
Plus we'll want Meena on the learn about kryptonite action for sure if a training action doesn't give Carol kryptonite radiation, and tying her up for two turns in a row is a tall ask.
Ehh. Jinx is really only loyal for completely self serving reasons and Helena has plenty Orr reasons to be hesitant especially when she's being asked to indoctrinate what is essentially her surrogate daughter.
Okay but even if we strip any and all qualifiers away the fact remains that basing Raven's loyalty on propaganda comes with the risk that propaganda can be disproven.
This is debatable IMO. It would have to be a truly brainwashing amount of propaganda in order to fundamentally change Raven's relationship with Cassandra and her inner circle.
And yes Jinx is the exception but she is a fairly significant one, Jinx is Cassandra's best friend and right hand woman. Having Raven become part of the inner circle while the two of her still have their issue sis just asking for trouble.
There is a lot to possibly train, and more likely she learns other things before she starts looking up esoteric manipulations to look into. The ring has enough versatility that without recently absorbed information pushing her in a specific direction, it's entirely feasible to put her on two training actions and possibly not get it. It also still leaves the lack of practice applying kryptonite radiation projection in battle.
No, we very much provided them a lot of aid in setting up the team, directed them during nemesis events, and will have teleporters available to transport them to distant disasters in the future. Further more, your missing the point that we are saying that since there with us with us now they accomplish more than they used thanks to greater tech and resources to track down criminals.
That our direction and support is making a difference in there performance, which it very much will given we've already upgraded Beatrice trait and are helping Tora earn one next turn with this plan. We want to shove this in peoples faces as much as possible so Heroes approaching Lexcorp want to join fully rather than merely get Doma off there back like Coldcast and Centurion.
They can still team up on their own. Our teleporters are secret and not necessarily a benefit, and our guidance is not a unique advantage. We haven't helped Fire+Ice track criminals, given them tech or training. Are you going to deny Centurion or Coldcast resources altogether?
If Raven's primary friend group is three girls who all have higher diplomacy than her and two of which have higher intrigue than her, and all buy into the Lexcorp Lifestyle heavily, than Raven is absorbing a ton of pro Lexcorp stuff in her day to day life and losing arguments about various ethics and other such matters. People tend to become a little like the people they spend time around. After a while we should be able to educate her, assuming Cassandra doesn't anticipate Lex's desire and it becomes a Cassandra special project.
Not in particular. Your forgetting that Kryptonite is only one of many subjects Mina is versed and that she is a bit of a scatter brain when it comes to which one she is interested in most. If anything, she'd probably see Carol Learn many very different aspects of her rings abilities and help her test it's limits, but it isn't a sure thing that kryptonite is one of those. There is also the question of how many points would be taken up by Meena tutoring Carol in kryptonite in our power training room, which is far from the most ideal location to educate someone on a complex scientific subject, rather than have them practice practical application of knowledge they already comprehend.
Carol's plane expertise would trump any Kryptonite knowledge, then.
Both electromagnetic radiation and wave-particle interactions, like those in Kryptonite (Dhawan's particle), fall under quantum mechanics, which is Meena's field of study. Do you think Carol's inclination and insight would be stronger?
Kryptonite knowledge isn't a prerequisite for Carol otherwise you'd need to be a scientist to you this ability. It's about inclinations.
Hello everybody, I am not dead yet! I figured people would appreciate a bit of an update as to where I am with things. I am about 50% of the way through the latest update meaning depending on how I feel tomorrow and how much work I can put in, I should have it done late at night on the 29th. Additionally the next part of the Emperor Luthor omake series is completely skeletoned out and I'm likely to start working on it fully on the weekends. I'm currently a decent amount of the way through the Red Tornado omake that was purchased a while back. Thank you all for your patience.
I suppose I'll ask would people be interested in hearing about some of the monsters I came up with for Gemworld? I thought about posting some of the concepts I have but I don't know if the interest is there.

Yeah I'm fine with hearing about some Gem World monsters. Besides my general love of fantasy bestiaries It'd be cool to see if we can splice some of them, generally weaponize them or hell maybe open up some weird Jurassic park-esque zoo in the future.
I'm not really sure I agree? It might help with desertification to a degree, but the problem there isn't that the deserts don't get rain, they don't retain it. For most other environmental issues weather can be a problem but not a huge one.
There are two major thrusts I see to Lexcorp's environmentalism.
The first is that we can focus on areas where governmental partnership is possible and will have a big impact, like the United States and Brazil, because environmentalism will work best when we can offer better technological alternatives to farmers and workers and so forth than slash-and-burn or similar, and use the government to deter poachers and polluters and so forth.
I do think given the amazon rainforest and Fire's inclusion in Bastion, we can do a lot more to get close to Brazil in the same way we did Japan and gain a lot of advantages from saving the Amazon - not just environmental kudos and pleasing Pam and Fire, but getting another friendly government and making discoveries like gingo fruit. Brazil could be our South American stronghold.
Beyond Brazil and the United States, Africa is also a possible area to explore. Bialya is our major investment here so far, but it's actually a North African country IIRC and most of the environmental causes we'd be interested are further south, near Zambesi. Something to consider.
In terms of just reducing pollution - we can't really touch China without our government partners freaking out, but India is *right there* and has a huge population that is modernizing. Lexcorp could steer that modernization to our advantage, especially with kryptonite power.
The second major thrust of our effort should probably be the ocean - it's a bit of an odd thing, because despite making up 70% of the earth's surface the ocean only makes up 1% of the earth's biomass. IRL a lot of the deep ocean is EMPTY, like a giant underwater desert, which puts some perspective on Atlantis if that remains in the Lexverse. At the same time, phytoplankton has been estimated to produce 80% of the earth's oxygen, and there are still tons of resources in the ocean. Outside Atlantis, the ocean is sort of a 'wild west' frontier even for Atlantis with very little to help combat pollution or tap resources.
So the ocean is sort of an odd thing where it's actually incredibly easy for Lexcorp to make a huge impact, because there's just very little standing in our way. Nobody is going to worry about regulations if we decide to clean up the Great Pacific Garbage Patch or equivalent, relatively few people will lose jobs if we pressure Japan to stop hunting whales, and we could probably conquer a part of the world's oceans that are distant from Atlantis without most people even knowing. Drone spam may be a thing here if we can get them smart enough.
The only real caveat here is that there are unknowns for sure, and space is a somewhat more pressing frontier to explore. But exploring space doesn't necessarily have a big environmental impact unless we terraform.
I dislike ambiguity (I'm a physicist, so maybe I shouldn't) so I made a program in C++ to provide a basic analysis of rolls. It provides information about the median margin of success (the halfway point of all rolls, not the average), the mean absolute deviation (To ignore outlier rolls), the minimum margin of success, standard deviation, the maximum margin of success as well as the distribution of margins.
It's not perfect and it doesn't account for absolutely everything (Sam's trait, for example) but it's decently extensive. You can run it on any compiler you can find online for C++

I think we've misunderstood each other at some stage, my point was that Carol has a litany of other ways she could improve herself through training. Without taking a kryptonite related action to prime her for going in that direction she is unlikely to pursue that form of training rather than any of the other, likely simpler, options.
Sure but that's arguably something Raven would internalise anyway from being constantly surrounded by friends who believe that, especially once we deal with Trigon.
It actually kinda is. KC has confirmed in the past that Carol would need to "loosely know what kryptonite radiation is" in order to replicate it with her ring.

I think you make a lot of good points here, especially in regards to using Brazil as our base in South America since it's currently one of the two continents we don't have a tower in, three if you include Antarctica. Plus we could fairly easily expand our influence there by building one in both Rio and São Paulo though ideally we should probably build one in the actual capital as well at some point.
It's also worth considering that, depending on if KC has integrate them or not, there may also be a whole other tribe of Amazons waiting to be discovered.
Beyond Brazil and the United States, Africa is also a possible area to explore. Bialya is our major investment here so far, but it's actually a North African country IIRC and most of the environmental causes we'd be interested are further south, near Zambesi. Something to consider.
I definitely do want to get more involved with Zambesi at some point though unfortunately it seems as though none of the potential rulers of the country are that great.

Unfortunately this would likely be significantly complicated by the Atlanteans. Even if what we were doing was demonstrably good there are many among them who would take advantage of our supposed encroaching upon their territory to try to justify a war with the surface.

Funny thing about Brazil, but in All-Star Squadron comics there was a plateau that was basically the Lost World with all this prehistoric wildlife. They fought a guy named Hugo Danner, who was born with super strength and durability because his father injected his pregnant mother with a pre-natal super formula. Danner had used that formula on the people living in the plateau, with the intention of forming a superhuman army to conqueror the world.
The plan ended up failing primarily because the Accala had little immunity to the diseases of the outside world but if the same events happened here there might be some survivors or records of the "Danner Formula" to be found.

This is absolutely wild to me. I don't have enough knowledge of coding to check your work but this is really cool that you went and did this. I'm going to include a disclaimer that I am not responsible for the upkeep or accuracy of this tool but I do want to post it in the informational tab. This earned 500 exp, which I will get to adding once I am no longer working off my phone and thus less likely to make mistakes in editing.
Interesting Gemworld Monsters
So this is a quick fun post about Gemworld monster ideas I had. It is not a complete list by any means and I might add to it more as time goes on. This is mostly going to be about concepts, not necessarily what's in the final product, but some of them definitely will be in the final product and I think it might be fun to check out the ideas I had for this stuff.
Edit: I didn't want to spend more than half an hour throwing this together and I also didn't want to copy paste my actual notes on some other creature ideas I had.
Familiar Creatures
So in this section I'm going to mostly be talking about monsters people might be more familiar with and some weird twists or takes on them that I wanted to include. Some of this stuff will almost certainly not come up all that often in quest but I figured it would be fun to point out and bring to people's attention. This is by no means a complete list but some monsters I just didn't have as much interesting things to say about them.
The first monster I want to talk about are Gemworld goblins as they're the monster that has appeared the most in omakes I've written thus far. As such I figured I'd tackle the weird idea for them that hasn't really been covered with them. On the surface Gemworld goblins are pretty solidly aligned with the generic goblin people might be more familiar with. It's under the surface where they get weird. Namely Gemworld goblins are eusocial and have a colony structure more similar to naked mole rats or bees than any more conventional structure. The live underground of in cave and have one "queen" goblin to a colony that spawns male drones en masse and then directs them to achieve the goals of the colony.
Gemworld naga, are fairly mundane in terms of appearance but they are very powerful magically and are almost entirely nocturnal. They worship a moon god and have a strong history of magic involving souls. There is a wide range of appearances for nagas and as they can take on aspects of many different kinds of snakes.
Odokuros are basically giant skeletons and are technically creatures though they have no connection to dead people or spirits. They are animated by magic and grow bigger over time. They regularly consume rocks, minerals and the bones of other creatures in order to grow and they reproduce by breaking a significantly large chunk around themselves to form the beginning of a new Odokuro.
Fire trolls are pretty much the classic DC creature in appearance, being large stony skinned creatures who are capable of emitting and are often covered in fire and molten rock. The live in areas with volcanic activity and can breathe underwater. Fire trolls cannot properly "eat" other creatures and instead subsist off of chemosynthesis.
Dragons exist in Gemworld and are one of the apex predators of Gemworld. They are intelligent, large and armed with many natural weapons. Dragons often use magic to modify themselves in order to become more efficient at any one given thing and are incredibly long lived, seemingly having no natural end to their life spans. Female dragons lay eggs once a century and are generally larger than male dragons.
Original creature concepts
So this section is going to be listing a whole bunch of creatures that I came up with. These monsters are a lot more weird and out there. Most of the entries will be a sentence or two and not all of them will have their final name as of now but these are all concepts I've tossed around for the monsters of Gemworld.
Scorpiuses are giant scorpion like creatures with decently sized blood red eyes and wings that can unfold from their carapace like a beetle. They are generally highly aggressive and opportunistic when it comes to food, and are cannibalistic. Their young are venomous but as they grow older they cease to produce venom and instead use their giant stinger tails to crush and skewer prey.
Lotus Storks are a bizarre creature that vaguely resemble a giant four headed stork. In reality the "heads" are not heads and are in fact tentacles with pincers at the end and their actual mouth is at the center of the base of all four tentacles and is a whirling mass of razor sharp teeth. Lotus storks are eyeless but can "smell" with their tentacles and use that to track down prey. They are relentless predators.
Envelopers are a surprisingly intelligent creature that vaguely resemble a flat twelve foot black sheet with raised eyes at the center. They move like and technically are gastropods. Envelopers are ambush predators that feed on creatures by finding sleeping creatures, smothering them at night and then slowly digesting the dead body. Envelopers are smart enough to understand language even if they cannot speak it.
Tileneekles are a species of cats about the size of a horse. They loosely resemble panthers though they're generally a more bulky than panthers are. Tileneekles are solid ambush predators and are often solitary. They are surprisingly good at mimicking sounds and will often lure prey into ambush prey by mimicking their cries in order to draw them closer. They can even mimic human voices and their name is derived from a sound they often let out that resembles a human being saying this word. They can be domesticated
Jawlhounds are a species of monster that resemble furred crocodiles with a wolves legs. They live in packs and have mouths that stretch well past their front legs.
Sheddim are intelligent humanoid horned bugs. They have massive scythe claws like a praying mantis, an extendable mouth like a xenomorph and a pair of smaller arms with clawed fingers for cutting things. They cannot fly and have four clawed feet radially positioned from the torso.
Devil Hands are a quadrupedal monster that loosely resemble a giant dismembered hand. Each of their limbs is long spindly and spider like but ends in a razor sharp point and are coated in an anti-coagulant. Their mouth lies on the underside of their body and they have a long stalk-like appendage at the top of their body that flings noxious poisonous chemicals at what they designate their prey.
Karkinors vaguely resemble crab centaurs/driders with the lower body of a crab minus the claws and a humanoid upper body. Their shell covers their entire body and their head is too flat to properly resemble a person. They can speak and are intelligent.
Kyverns are basically wyverns only instead of having two legs and two wings, they have two legs and four wings. Kyverns can crawl around but are much more fast and maneuverable in the air, being capable of flying in place and flying backwards.
Tirravs are golden dog sized insectoid creatures that loosely resemble giant mantises. That being said instead of having claws, they instead have very flexible front limbs with venomous stingers at the end.
Akavish are creatures that loosely resemble a housecat sized ten legged spiders with a spiky front side and much larger eyes. These spiders can fire poisonous spikes at their prey and will often use the corpse of their last meal as a hiding place from larger predators.
Salt Kings are vaguely humanoid creatures that appear to be made out of living salt and whose horns give them the appearance of a crown. They subsist solely off of water and drain whatever water they touch. Their touch is lethal to most organisms due to the draining touch leaving them desiccated. Salt Kings are intelligent and can speak.
I think we've misunderstood each other at some stage, my point was that Carol has a litany of other ways she could improve herself through training. Without taking a kryptonite related action to prime her for going in that direction she is unlikely to pursue that form of training rather than any of the other, likely simpler, options.
Probably. I was discussing Carol using her database for training actions, and then you joined from a different conversation, which caused some confusion.
Sure but that's arguably something Raven would internalise anyway from being constantly surrounded by friends who believe that, especially once we deal with Trigon.
To some extent, yes. But the opposite is also true - Propaganda will align her with Cassandra. Both actions achieve broadly similar results. Also, they are all already friends. They could become better friends, but they already are.
Jinx's and Raven's issues will arise long-term but can be resolved as we go. I don't see Jinx+Raven as immediately powerful, problematic, or advantageous, particularly now that we have Mina. I think that twisting Raven's morality is an opportunity we should leverage. I also dislike the thought of not improving Cassandra.
By now we're repeating ourselves.
**************
I generated some art. Unfortunately, everything other than Cassandra was a mess☹️
I don't have much to say on this piece. Other than some weirdness with the hair (she looks like she's got some weird cowlick thing) this doesn't stray too far off from traditional Cassandra Cain appearances and style. It doesn't quite match up with the style I see Cassandra Luthor usually preferring but it isn't a bad piece of art. Her face being on the sign board behind her is a kind of funny touch.
So these three pieces are interesting to me. Something interesting to me is that all three of them generally stick to pretty neutral or light/friendly colors. It's not a big deal but I'm curious if that's an influence from "Cassandra Cain" on the AI generating the images.
The first one is actually the closest to what I personally headcanon Cassandra Luthor's preferred attire to be (it's the only one that kept the collared shirt though the others kept other elements). It's pretty solidly in line with what I imagine a "Cassandra Luthor outfit" to look like.
The second one is interesting as it lines up a little more with typical "action hero" attire and it's the only one to give Cassandra a necklace. It's not a bad look and I could see Cassandra wearing something like this though it probably wouldn't be in her typical attire.
The last one is also neat. Her left hand is an eldritch finger horror and Cassandra's showing some midriff but it did keep the fingerless gloves I described Cassandra as potentially wearing. I think this look works pretty well as another variation of how Cassandra might try to blend in when in public and it's a neat image.
So I know that this is more or less a variation of the third picture in the spoiler box above but I can't help but see it as a Wendy the Werewolf Hunter costume, especially because of the cross necklace. It looks too similar to the following image for me to not draw comparisons
This picture is interesting to me. I generally like the dress and I could see Cassandra wearing something like this if she wanted to project a more feminine image and it's probably the most dynamic in terms of coloration. It's close enough that I could see this fulfilling the "Debutante Dress" image from the fan art contest. I think it's a neat piece.
When you said at the top that the Cassandra stuff came out the best I ended up being kind of in agreement with you. This picture of Snow isn't bad but it has some weirdness with the ears, the fingers and the wrinkles around the face. It's still a pretty cute monkey picture if you aren't going into it looking for AI related errors.
This was really cool to see and I'm happy to have gotten this fanart. I like seeing this kind of stuff and so I am going to give this 500 exp and a threadmark
Apropos of absolutely nothing I fell down a rabbit hole and discovered that Furries are literally a thing that exist in the DC universe.
Also having rewatched a bit of The Batman cartoon, still has the best Clayface IMO, made me wonder something @King crimson I can't remember if this has come up yet and I've just forgotten it but is the quest version of Ellen Yin originally from Metropolis like the show version or was that changed?
Also I know this isn't the case but every time I imagine a person or creature from Gemworld I imagine them being made out gemstones or being like the Gems from Steven Universe and I have to keep reminding myself that they're not.
Also I know this isn't the case but every time I imagine a person or creature from Gemworld I imagine them being made out gemstones or being like the Gems from Steven Universe and I have to keep reminding myself that they're not.
It's more fun to not bother. Of course Princess Topaz is made of topaz. If they didn't want me imagining her like that they would've named her Princess Human.
Wild Landers are a thing from the late ninties. I've got a bit of a soft spot for them and really like them. They're an opportunity to do fun goofy Thundercats-esque stories every so often.
@King crimson I can't remember if this has come up yet and I've just forgotten it but is the quest version of Ellen Yin originally from Metropolis like the show version or was that changed?
It hasn't come up as of yet. That being said I also didn't really flesh out Yin's backstory all that much past some of her time spent in Gotham. As such so long as I give the approval of it being possible, Yin's backstory is open for people to do their own stuff through omakes. I kind of don't want to give a definitive answer one way or another since I'd rather leave that on the table for omake writers to pick up and run with.
Also I know this isn't the case but every time I imagine a person or creature from Gemworld I imagine them being made out gemstones or being like the Gems from Steven Universe and I have to keep reminding myself that they're not.
So I'll be honest I never really saw Steven Universe and I've never gotten around to checking it out. I've heard its good but my understanding of it is pretty shallow all things considered.
When I started the quest, I considered making Gemworld a little more in line with the aesthetic of that show, but decided not to as I didn't know enough to do more than very shallowly mimic things. If I were making a Gemworld fic or quest in and of itself, I think it would be fun to partner up with someone more familiar with Steven Universe and intentionally draw a little more on that aesthetic.
It's more fun to not bother. Of course Princess Topaz is made of topaz. If they didn't want me imagining her like that they would've named her Princess Human.
So I'll state that in the OG comics there is one character who actually somewhat matches up to this aesthetic
I don't know why he's the only character with fantastical skin colors, but the precedent for doing this with other characters has existed for a very long time.
Edit: I'm kind of down to have a fan art contest for people to draw the characters in a Steven Universe-esque style and then canonize the picture I think works the best. I don't really describe the Gemworld characters physical appearance all that much and I don't think it would break canon as I've established it too much to make this kind of change.
So an update for people who are invested in my progress on various things. Depending on how rough things are, I expect to have the update land either tomorrow or on Tuesday. I'm about 80% of the way through the update though I do want to double check I haven't messed anything up. The Emperor Luthor update is chugging along (I'm currently writing one the first big fight scene) and the Red Tornado Interlude is also moving along though it might continue to take a while. As a fun thing I actually figured I'd give a quick informational post about Wild Landers for people that'll land today. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.
Some info on Wild Landers Some Context
The Wild Landers have been mentioned as "furries" previously in the thread and while that's technically correct, it's not quite an accurate reflection of what they are. Wild Landers, and the entire story around them, was a homage to the old Jack Kirby Earth-AD/Kamandi stuff only set in the present day and with Superboy. There's more that you could go into analyzing the specific origins of this sort of stuff (including that Jack Kirby was reputedly inspired by the 1968 Planet of the Apes movie when writing Kamandi), but that isn't too important.
The Wild Landers in quest are my own spin on things pretty much and while I have shifted the tone a fair bit and included my own touches on things, I do think they're a fun little easter egg to potentially stumble on to. Everything from this point forward is going to be in quest stuff.
Origins
The origins of Project Moreau are loosely tied into World War 2. With the realization that metahumans were capable of changing and shaping war, the US government began numerous projects to try and push things further in order to ensure victory. For the most part these projects were failures as they were unable to effectively achieve their goals and by the time the war ended they were mothballed, as funding the DOMA proved to be more efficient and effective.
Project Moreau was the project that would eventually result in the Wild Landers. Unlike most projects, which focused on modifying and improving humans, Project Moreau focused on doing so with animals. By and large they succeeded, resulting in what would arguably be considered by many to be fairly advanced splicing technology, as they made animals more human-like. That being said the uplifted animals were oftentimes more difficult to control than regular animals and they didn't provide a massive increase in combat potential. Interestingly one of the scientists involved in the project, Dr. Benjamin Love, would later go on to succeed in creating metahumans, though he'd get killed by one of his own creations.
With the closure of the project, the scientists now had to get rid of all of the uplifted animals. One of the scientists, a Dr. Michael Grant, ended up taking the specimens and placed them on an island similar to the IRL Inaccessible Island. He eventually died on the island but the locations would soon become known as the Wild Lands.
Because the uplifted animals were still able to reproduce, the Wild Landers as they called themselves began to develop a culture and a people. Enough time has passed that humans are mostly out of living memory and the society of the Wild Landers often takes on and mimics aspects and elements of human cultures but it's done with a good sense of ignorance.
Notable Locations
The Wild Lands are a relatively small island all things considered but there are a few notable locations. which can be found in and around it.
The first and perhaps most notable location is the city of Roam. Roam is a small and primitive city and is largely the hub for most of the Wild Landers. It very poorly apes Roman aesthetics as most of the "culture" and "traditions" of the place were created by Wild Landers reading damaged books about history. Roam is ruled by an emperor but the reality is that the emperor doesn't control an empire at all and is often forced to deal with and negotiate with other groups of Wild Landers with their own leaders. Roam is still the ideal place for trading and most developed cultures.
Another very present landmark is Mount Doom. Mount Doom is a semi-active volcano whose name was taken from a heavily damaged version of Lord of the Rings which was mistaken as a historical text. Mount Doom is generally off limits and looms over most of the island. There are some small cults that worship Mount Doom and seek to throw evil things into its "fires" in order to cleanse the world of them.
Near Mount Doom is Black Glass Beach, a beach that's more or less just solid sheets of obsidian. It's generally not observed and while it is a treacherous area, it's also a good place for clandestine deals.
While the Ring Reefs are not located on the island proper, they are occasionally visible when the tide gets low and they make it extra difficult to get to the Wild Lands. The Ring Reefs are not actually reefs but are instead nine rings of black rocky outcroppings. Like Mount Doom, they get their name from a damaged version of Lord of the Rings.
Fort Franklin is a notable location as it's a stronghold of the Gorilla warband. It's a heavily armed location, loosely resembling a small citadel rather than a proper fort. It is fairly defensible and is generally not encroached on by those outside the Gorilla warband.
The Bat Caverns are an interesting location as these underground caves connect to the ocean and are the place where the Bat Kingdom is based out of. The Bat Kingdom notably scavenges ship wrecks and the caverns as such are decorate with various things they think are interesting.
The last potentially interesting location is the Glowing Swamp, a location where occasionally odd glowing lights will be seen coming out of it every so often. Most of the Wild Landers don't know what's going on there but understand that the lights are for the most part harmless.
Notable Individuals
The first and perhaps most notable individual is the tiger-man known as Great Caesar who is the current emperor of Roam. He is a veteran of the Beast Wars, a conflict between various factions of Wild Landers, and nominally came out the most powerful of the bunch, though he often needs to negotiate with them anyways. He attempts to model himself after Roman emperors but lacks understanding of what Rome actually was and so instead ends up merely aping their aesthetics more than anything else. Great Caesar is proud and stubborn but does seek to keep peace on the island for as long as possible.
Nosferata meanwhile is the current Queen of the Bat Kingdom. Her name is derived from a poster/picture of Nosferatu and other vampires, which people of the Bat Kingdom thought was real, and Cleopatra whom the Bat Kingdom only "knew" as a great queen who cause problems for "Roam". Nosferata is cunning, clever and ambitious. She's not hesitant about violence even if she prefers to use diplomacy and intrigue to win her fights when possible. Nosferata did not live through the Beast Wars herself but she did lose both of her parents in the conflict. She actively likes to collect human artifacts whenever possible and is proud of her kingdom's collection of said items.
Killa is the current leader of the Gorilla warband. He's a brutal, aggressive and power hungry individual. He is a veteran of the Beast Wars and seeks to reignite conflict to let the Gorilla warband once more gain power. Killa is a bit of a bigot, believing Gorilla-Men to be superior to all other forms of life.
Sacker is the oldest living Wild Lander and an immensely dangerous individual. He is old enough to remember Project Moreau and the lab and he views the Wild Lands as a paradise. He highly dislikes humans and views them as a danger that shouldn't step foot on the Wild Lands. Sacker had virtually all of Dr. Grant's notes and is surprisingly well versed about the outside world even if he hates it. He generally is willing to kill humans on sight and will hunt down humans who get shipwrecked in the Wild Lands, even being willing to swim out to get at them.
Doctor Canus is a dog-man Wild Lander who is a historian and a doctor. He has come to the radical conclusion that Wild Landers were once humans and were transformed into their current forms due to some terrible tragedy. He is kind and gentle and interested in knowledge.
Im sorry, I read the word Kirby and tuned everything else out since Kirby crashed through my window at that moment and started dancing over my dead body which Kirby crushed when he crashed.
With confirmation that the Wild Lands exist it would almost certainly be worth trying to find it and make contact if/when we recruit Dr. Dorian like we've been talking about for a while. Especially since if we want to buff Snowy the same way we can Janus that's arguably the best way to do it.
The interesting this is that if you were to adopt a more Steven Universe like aesthetic you wouldn't even have to change designs too much since the Gems can look human if they want to since the only part of their body that is actually them is their eponymous gem with everything else just being a hologram they project and can change to interact with the world.
Though that would likely result in more than just cosmetic changes and would raise the question of why Amy just looks totally human.
The Wild Landers have been mentioned as "furries" previously in the thread and while that's technically correct, it's not quite an accurate reflection of what they are.
Doctor Canus is a dog-man Wild Lander who is a historian and a doctor. He has come to the radical conclusion that Wild Landers were once humans and were transformed into their current forms due to some terrible tragedy. He is kind and gentle and interested in knowledge.
So I have not seen Guardians of the Galaxy 3 so I don't actually know how much the "Ani-Men" in that movie related to things. From what I can find of images online, outside of them being anthropomorphic animals there's not much overlap (that movie had them dressed in modern clothes while the Wild Landers are running around and basically larping as Roman Empire era individuals.). I will say that funnily enough that I did syncretize the Wild Landers with the DC Comics Ani-Men (which are completely distinct from the Marvel stuff) but there's no real overlap with the movie as far as I know.
