Besides, the biggest problem regarding AI legally is the fact they lack legal rights. Like, at best their deaths would be considered "destruction of private property", with maybe special exceptions made for Hero Robots.

They have literally no legal protection preventing people from killing them, so we'll have to deal with fantastic racism and corporate espionage until we secure equal rights for AIs/Robots.

Also I do wonder about what happens when our self flying plane malfunction and caused a crash? irl auto-pilot does most of the flying yet pilots are still needed for take off and landing. So if the plane malfunctioned or is hacked, it could have been prevented with a pilot. It may result in a law that makes pilot or humans with admin powers mandatory to prevent full AI malfunction or hacking causing a bad situation.

If you're that worried, then we could always assign Carol to Improve Planes next turn. That way the planes are even safer and whatnot, which can be applied to the self-flying ones.

That's only a concern when we make Human AI. Animal AI and Learning AI are not people by any metric. You could MAYBE classify the Animal AI as alive, but just animals not people. And I don't see any reason we'd be going that far in on teh Animal AI.

As long as it happens less often than normal pilots crashing, it's still a all around improvement.

Plus... I feel it's inaccurate to say that a Human Pilot COULD have stopped the crashed. After all, if the AI can be hacked, the control panels and what not easily could be as well. And a pilot can't do shit if the controls are unresponsive.

so one thing that we have been neglecting is the plug the leaks action which we should do quickly so we do not have to be skittish about people talking about our actions that are more legally grey (like the fold police action)

So... like our Modern AI? Because that is how AI learn. They start out with a pretty random decision making process, and play. Those who do good ("what works") are kept and what don't are discarded (Of course, "do good" is probably "Get atleast a single point" at this point), with the "winners" being replicated and slightly tweaked.
I am unaware of how cutting edge ai learns but I was primarily drawing on deepblue for how the learning program works.
@King crimson Can you threadmark the post on how Tutoring works? Its gonna be needed when we get around to teaching Lex how to fight.
If it becomes a problem I'll repost it again (I don't want to go digging through all of my old posts and find it easier to just answer the question again later).

OK, so next turn we have to sand off the rough edges of our police takeover and get revenge on Sackett in a way that doesn't let him turn around and implicate us. Assassination is the obvious choice, but I'm interested if anyone has a more elegant idea. I'm interested in continuing this string of good plane performance by improving our planes next turn, as well as upgrading missiles if we can find the room. The new learning program should be useful for improving our automated fighters; have their computer data downloaded and analyzed after every flight to improve them over time.

No one but big corporations really know how the cutting edge AI work, trade secrets, but most AI do work off what I said. They don't look at every possible outcome, most machines don't have the required processing power. Instead they got some random equation which, with certain inputs, gives certain outputs. This equation is constantly tested and adjusted, with the adjustments which help it be slightly more accurate kept.

You know, it's kinda funny because not only would Lex Luthor on a civil rights movement be interesting it kinda actually makes sense for his character and motivations.

Now I really wanna lead a civil rights movement as lex luthor, I can feel the awesome radiating from the idea.

Right now I am imagining Lex Luthor, robot civil rights leader making an "I have a dream of electric sheep" speech

I'm extremely concerned about how Klarion, of all people, is the second most expensive thing on the list. What's he up to?

On the earlier idea of buying traits, I would be interested in a trait allowing us to use Learning in fights instead of Martial. Like Batman's one with Intrigue.

Booo!!! You missed a chance of giving the Witch Boy the cost of 6666 xp

Booo!!!

xD
Welp I mean you asked for it. I'll correct this error. Never let it be said that I am unwilling to make things more expensive for my playerbase when they ask me to do so.
I'm extremely concerned about how Klarion, of all people, is the second most expensive thing on the list. What's he up to?
Being a Lord of Chaos in this setting means he has his fingers in a lot of different pies all at once. Klarion is expensive because the sheer amount of stuff he knows and could get involved in makes him dangerous to a ridiculous extent and serves as a way to get a lot of information (if you can parse through the insanity)
Nope Gemworld first appeared in DC comics in 1983 at least 30 years before Steven Universe. I have a soft spot in my heart for it and I wanted to include it (there is also a fantastic set of animated shorts that reimagines Gemworld as an isekai which I found really neat).

On the earlier idea of buying traits, I would be interested in a trait allowing us to use Learning in fights instead of Martial. Like Batman's one with Intrigue.
If I do go with buying traits I will not include very strong options like this for anything less than 10000 exp. There are other ways to increase your Martial score. Being able to use one stat to substitute the other is crazy strong as it allows you to invest in only one stat to cover two areas. Luthor already has multiple ways of increasing his Martial (the eventual Lexo-suit option can get your Martial up very high depending on how it goes.) so just making an option this strong that essentially negates the need to invest in martial is not something I'm particularly keen on.

The second thing I would like to mention is that Batman's trait is conditional. He cannot use intrigue in place of martial for most things (only in a fight when he meets a prerequisite). The most likely trait that you would get that lets you use learning for martial is one where Luthor can use his learning when directing troops but not in combat himself. It won't be a flat out fix for low stats making you bad at something.

I have updated the other encountered characters sheets and the coop scores (the construction company stuff will come up later once the vote closes tomorrow)

@Gavinfoxx I've finally come to a conclusion on Arcology. Arcology will not become an overarching tech. While I will use elements from it the niche is too specific to be big enough without overlapping heavily with other options. As such [ ] learn about Arcology will not be a thing but elements of the discipline will most certainly be available.
