So... @King crimson - has Cobblepot started sponsoring any "superheroes"?
I will not confirm or deny anything beyond stating that as of this turn, Lex Luthor has no knowledge of Cobblepot sponsoring any "superheroes".So... @King crimson - has Cobblepot started sponsoring any "superheroes"?
I'm 100% on board with putting some more work into our exosuits soon, I've wanted to equip Kate with one for ages. Though an argument could be made that we should try to squeeze out as many relevant Brainiac techs as we can first so whatever we develop isn't immediately rendered irrelevant.Hi everyone,
I've been thinking, and I believe exosuits are the most critical weapon for our future. Here's why:
- Exosuits are highly valued by the military, making them most suited to strengthen our ties.
- They allow for more powerful, mobile weapons than alternatives (e.g., a laser on an exosuit is stronger than a laser rifle and more agile than laser artilery).
- They're our best counter to Zod—offering superior aerial mobility, resistance to heat vision, and high damaging abilities
- Custom suits for heroes like Katherine and Mercy will enhance their ability to protect us during invasions when we're spread thin.
- Rose's Ravager armor, combined with hers and Cassandra's traits, gives +35 to each combat roll on 28 Martial. Upgrading it could enable her to overpower Kryptonians, making her essential to fighting Zod.
We also aren't 100% sure though when Zod will get set off. It might be worth having outdated exosuits now, we can sell off old inventory if need be.Though an argument could be made that we should try to squeeze out as many relevant Brainiac techs as we can first so whatever we develop isn't immediately rendered irrelevant.
Off the top of my head:I'm just double checking what obligations do we need to meet? I know we have the League of Shadows but can't remember what else atm.
We need to actually build ODIN ( a Kyryptonite laser equipped satellite defense grid).
We (Lex specifically) needs to do a speaking tour of Japan about metahumans and supers at some point.
We need to reverse engineer Brainiacs cloaking drones and Atlantean water blades for the League.
Help Enoch get even with the people in Gotham who banned him in the city and mocked him( We're hoping to make his growth formula a success will be enough)
We've technically fulfilled obligations for improved aircraft and combat capable spacesuits for the military but I'd like to do them again.
So... personal mental checklist ahead of time. I know that this will likely be upended when the new actions appear, and too early to decide anything definitively but just trying to get an idea. Also we probably aren't going "this" hard on Exo-Suits. But assuming we were and were getting engineers. At least 13 actions are left open in this (based on how many actions we had this past turn.) more if we trim some of the exo-suit stuff because I almost certainly went overboard. Let me know if I missed any "essentials" or if you have any suggestions or refinements to this. There is also general wells laser rifle, and some work to arm task force 8, and probably getting a less pro superman president elected.
[ ] Improve exo-suit user interface
DC 50 Ensuring that the exo-suit is as intuitive to control as possible is necessary if you want to make exo-suits into both the premier weapon of the modern age and a ubiquitous one. As such making these improvements could be a worthwhile investment in the long run
[ ] Improve exo-suit mobility
DC 57 While you've successfully integrated the flight units into the exo-suit there is a great deal of potential for making more adjustments to the suit to increase their mobility. After all mobility is crucial in a fight and by making the exo-suits able to move more effectively you'll make them more potent over all.
Thoughts on developing space exosuits or just focus on improving normal exosuits?I'd also like to point out two "Martial" actions to consider for next turn
I'm pretty sure this exists already, and more importantly, we have more exosuits than we have people to use them and anything less than a power suit is going to fall short of a Kryptonian soldier. The US is mass producing suits as well. Not as good as ours, but still, they have them.Hello everyone,
I believe we shouldn't wait for more technology to develop new exosuits. Instead, we should focus on creating mass-producible models, specialized in fighting Kryptonians, and selling them widely. Our models would need:
These objectives can be achieved without Brainiac's tech, and time is critical.
- High aerial maneuverability and speed – Untrained Kryptonians struggle with aerial control.
- Laser resistance – To counter heat vision and lower friendly fire
- Powerful kryptonite lasers – Already designed last turn.
- Ease of use – So users can quickly master them before the invasion.
- Bonus features – Sound-based attacks
I'd also like to point out two "Martial" actions to consider for next turn
Hello @King crimson, I hope I'm not bothering you. Have you had a chance to think about the informational post on politicians? Also, when we fire people, do they still make their assigned action that turn?
Do not worry, you see I also have to deal with Finals. So I understand how it feels. So this is mostly just a status report as to how things are looking. Nothing will get done before the 18th.
If Exo-suit upgrades enable lucky shots on some of these soldiers that is worth it, and its not like we can't also pursue O.D.I.N. and getting Ultra Violet Kryptonite Radiation. We can also I think sell old stock by "Selling Close to Home" if I remember correctly so if we overproduce we can bring ourselves back down to slightly more than what we need. Also wouldn't Exo-Suits be good fire support for Ultra Violet adding supplementary kryptonite beams? Though I will acknowledge we should get more soldiers and security staff. The Kryptonian invasion solution is not slow, human soldiers in suits that don't make them nearly strong enough to deal with Kryptonians. We have come up with two Ace on the holes as it were for a Kryptonian solution, and those are grand scale, highly advanced ODIN final product, and having Ultra Violet learn to generate kryptonite radiation so she can take down important kryptonian leaders. These are much more elegant and concealable solutions than Lexcorp making thousands of exosuits we don't have pilots for.
The point is we aren't going to produce a notable improvement to exosuits and mass produce them cheaply, and focusing on exosuits this way while balancing our commitments is likely to compromise our efforts to bring about our ace in the whole. Exosuits using kryptonite batteries are the spiffy new war machine of the American Army. We have 3 different exo-suits and 1000 models of our newest model made sometimes in the lead up to brainiac. It'a a good idea that doesn't hold up to it's competition for our limited actions and hero unit resources. If Exo-suit upgrades enable lucky shots on some of these soldiers that is worth it, and its not like we can't also pursue O.D.I.N. and getting Ultra Violet Kryptonite Radiation. Basically I am not denying those are the ace in the holes, but we should have stuff to make those ace in the holes harder to attack. (Though arguably, wards and magical effects can achieve a similar purpose.)
Ehh agree to disagree. I don't think it will be impossible to balance our commitments, exosuits and ace in the holes. Especially since one of the two is one of our commitments. On an aside thoughts on Lifter Exosuit production for profit and construction (I don't see Lifter exosuits in Character Information 1) to justify improving Exosuits going through if their usefulness against Kryptonians is not compelling? I'll think over the action economy some more and probably relocate some actions in my draft. It'a a good idea that doesn't hold up to it's competition for our limited actions and hero unit resources.
You're not bothering me, you're just very much not my priority. I'm literally writing my response to you on my phone as I walk back from having taken a final that's many hours long.Hello @King crimson, I hope I'm not bothering you. There's also an out of date list which could be helpful even if we've done some of the stuff on it.
We have also just agreed to provide Austria with exosuits which now that I think about it synergises quite well with our desire to improve them somewhat. Though it's not an imminent obligation. There is also general wells laser rifle, and some work to arm task force 8, and probably getting a less pro superman president elected.

Unfortunately I don't think that selling exosuits widely will ever be feasible. It's been made pretty clear that they're not something the government wants a regular citizen to be able to get their hands on, understandably so, so the bets we could do without risking burning our bridges would be to sell them to as many governments as we can.I believe we shouldn't wait for more technology to develop new exosuits. I don't think we're in that much if a time crunch for anti-kryptonian weapons, mechanically the last big event was only four turns ago and narratively it's been made pretty clear that Zod fully intend to be slow and steady here. These objectives can be achieved without Brainiac's tech, and time is critical.
I think there's room and time for both options. ODIN and Ultraviolet being able to deal with Kryptonians is probably the most directly beneficial to us but being able to equip the worlds militaries with an improved exosuit that makes them more likely to survive and take down a Kryptonian in the process will also help in the larger scale.I'm pretty sure this exists already, and more importantly, we have more exosuits than we have people to use them and anything less than a power suit is going to fall short of a Kryptonian soldier. We sold some to Cobblepot with their permission so clearly they aren't super worried about people getting them. But yeah even then not many people except a government are going to be able to buy enough of the mass produced exosuits to actually fight a Kryptonian. Selling Exosuits to NATO countries and US allies should be possible. It might not do much in the end but it's better then nothing.Unfortunately I don't think that selling exosuits widely will ever be feasible. Cobblepot is the exception that proves the rule, he literally had to trade the government a top secret Russian submarine in order to be granted a license to own, never mind use, a couple of exosuits. At absolute mist the top 1% could maybe afford to equip their personally bodyguards with them.We sold some to Cobblepot with their permission so clearly they aren't super worried about people getting them. Austria isn't a NATO member but it does have close ties with many NATO countries due to it being in the EU.Austria is a NATO country so selling exosuits should be no problem so long as we bug them and pass intel to Eiling

[ ] Begin producing more exosuits
DC 12 Likewise exosuits are more necessary than ever. Demand has skyrocketed and you have no doubt that it will continue remain profitable for you to produce more. The other consideration is that you lacked enough exosuits to fully leverage them as much as you would have liked to against Brainiac. Producing more of them will naturally mean that in the event of another such emergency, you will be far, far better prepared.
Thoughts on developing space exosuits or just focus on improving normal exosuits?
As for the informational post on politicians, I have had a chance to think it over. Frankly I'm going to lean on no. So many positions have political elements to them, there are so many different levels of government that could be relevant (local, county, state, federal is the simple way to break it down) and enough motion going on at any given time that I don't feel like I can give a good informational post covering all or even most politicians that won't quickly become outdated/vestigial. As such I'm leaning on no. I'm not going to 100% rule it out but as of right now it feels like too much work for not enough payout.
