There's another reason our flying sword dice pool is going to be abnormally large: Remember what Xiulan they said about us having more meridians open before the White Room opened, when we were still peak yellow, than she does even now, despite sharing our visits to the white room? Xiulan is around peak yellow now and probably a good benchmark for what a highly-motivated noble cultivator could achieve, and it sounds like we are going to have more meridians than most people at equal cultivation levels because of our high talent.
We currently have a three way tie for our most common element. Choosing an element that naturally supports the abilities of our blade might make a difference, so since the example weapon that offered improved initiative used wind, I've gone with wind here. Mechanically the dice are identical but narratively it might help.
And, of course, it gives us 3 bonus dice to FVM and other attacks. It buffs our debuffs and our debuffs buff it, in a beautifully synergistic circle.
This isn't set in stone, so if anyone sees an exploit I've missed go ahead and chime in.
Prototype flying sword:
[][Talisman] Crescent Rose*: Dexterity+Expression, Wind
-[] Scythe/Lucerne Hammer/Galive/Giant Sword etc (depends on base stats/coolness, target: ~DV14, AP1)
-[] improved initiative
-[] bonus attack dice based on difference in initiative
-[] extra AP
-[] Reserved pending GM statements
*I'm still working on the name.

Any suggestions?
The last ability slot is reserved. It may be left blank to strengthen the three main abilities or selected to give us an advantage in flying sword vs. flying sword combat, compensate for a weakness, or add another cool ability, depending on what yrsillar says.
This is just my opinion, but I think this is the perfect weapon for a jumped-up commoner to smash some noble heads with. It's not built from the body of an ancient beast, it's not one of the "four noble weapons", it gets its power from our support debuffs and raw talent. And if we pick up any buffs that affect Domain Weapons the high DV will help our weapon take advantage of them too.
( I'm actually partial to a Lucerne Hammer, but I couldn't come up with a good name or picture.)
