Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

Joe: I walked in and sat down with my friends, everyone proceeded to lose their minds because of one inescapable fact, I have buddies.
Now that I think about it this sends out a small but scary message, 'It was just me before think about what I can do with my whole team'

Cool chapter, but once again I think you missed a trick with the 'preamble-addendum' thing; just have a preamble, then a chapter title like 'culmination' and then "I-", and then the addendum. It would have been funny for that chapter where Joe was asleep and I think it would only get funnier here with repetition. Also, a thousand times funnier still if 'I' was the word needed to tip over into a Forge connection and a new perk was detailed at the bottom.

Gregor nodded. Separate from the spectacle was the statement. A confirmation of support and connections. It was an open display of the strength of the Undersiders' position, their luxury of being the one group in the city who didn't need to worry about Apeiron. Honestly, he couldn't help but envy the stability they were able to enjoy.

58.1 Addendum Alec

Alec looked over the mess of his team, wondering how they ever imagined they were ready for something like this. Oh sure, they looked like they had their shit together, but Alec was pretty sure you could put a gibbering mental patient in one of Joe's suits and he'd be able to bluff his way through a charity gala.
Well, that's an amusing transition.

After the relatively normal appearance of the cat the entire bar was shocked by the sudden swerve that was the next entrant's appearance.
It was the nature of the creature that was so unsettling. More than just the unnatural nature of seeing an animal walk on two legs,
Ah yes, the one member of Aperion's team that's almost a normal cape: the cat. It doesn't have any of the other's more unnatural features such as being a bipedal animal.

Hello Somer's Rock! We've got an exciting cast lined up for you today, so just sit back and watch your plans crumble to nothing!

Introducing, the Workshop Crew:

Survey, the Overarching Analyst.
Fleet, the Peerless Pilot.
Lethe, the Celestial Disciple.
Cataclysm, the Almighty Battlemaster.
Tetra, the Foreign Weaver.
Matrix, the Everpresent Smith.
Aperion, the Egnimatic Artificer.

And though they weren't able to make it, let's still give mention to the remaining members of the crew:

Garment, the Fashionable Seamstress.
Joe 1 and Joe 2, the Unburdened Reflections.

There is so much to love about this chapter. The almost meta discussion between Uppercrust and Faultline making fun of and referencing regular hiring and contracting posturing. This is actually showing how much Uppercrust really, really, really wants to get on Joe's good side. The last time he came stood up for Joe quite a bit against Piggot and the PRT. This time he throws a friendly pitch with few expenses spared at Faultline just to make sure Joe has an easier time. And this is just him setting up the groundwork before event approaching Joe.

Secondly is the chain of reactions to the entrance of people, how each team gets more and more awestruck at the next. Really gives time to spotlight the Undersiders and elevate them, then further elevate Joe after that. Feels like the opposite of Worm, where the situations get worse and worse. Instead feels like people get more and more elevated.

What I am worried is that to the other gangs, Apeiron suddenly showing up with a team is going to seem very aggressive. Apeiron's team aren't just newbies either, but all showing elements of his work from the other fights. This might be detrimental in talks if people think by showing off that many team members is a neutral talk that he's declaring his domination over the city.

Next week can't come fast enough. I need MOAR.

Uppercrust: Forcefield cane as a tech sample (Alternatively smuggling some broken tinkertech to Joe? Uppercrust may offer even if Joe declines.)

While that's certainly a possibility, there are a lot of things he could ask for from Uppercrust. For instance, if he wanted to help accelerate the city's recovery and make some positive overtures to the authorities he could request that Uppercrust do the city shield repairs for free. Really, with someone with that much national reach there's a lot of things he could ask for, especially since his largest issues right now are social/political problems rather than tech problems.

Huh. Alec can tell but not make the connections. Neat. Tybalt being the most stable is something alright. Matrix, predictably is having the the worse case of FILTH!!! which is a nice character quirk. Lethe despite everything being shown as vulnerable is a nice touch. And Tetra. Ohh Tetra. The implications you make.

Awesome chapter! Even when we get to Somer's Rock, the meeting is still being hyped since it hasn't even started. I love it.

The way that Gregor's view showed the Undersiders walking in, other capes are going to assume the Undersiders are firmly on Team Apeiron. Which is obvious, but someone is going to do a quick count and come up with some numbers that dramatically shift their expectations. Gregor knows that everyone currently in the room is on Apeiron side. To the view of everyone else, Team Apeiron has apparently 7 capes plus 5 Undersiders firmly on their side.

What is that compared to the E88 or PRT/Protectorate? Doesn't the Empire only have 12 or 14 capes?

We all knew it was coming, but it's still fantastic to see. I can't wait for Kaiser to walk in the door and see he's actually outnumbered. Where will the lines be drawn as suddenly too-small groups desperately seek allies?

Good point! I didn't consider that, but would be a much better idea!

Matrix is really like Dozer++, huh? Made of a goopy material, despises filth, loves learning from his master... Yeah, I see it.

Oddly enough Alec's PoV reminds me more of Sylvester's narration than anything in Worm. I'm not sure how you managed to do that. Maybe the change in brain chemistry and atypical worldview provides a point of commonality.

Not really helpful to the recovery of the ravaged area of the city (Poorer districts), not to mention undermining his mercenary angle.

The City shields are for the Rich parts of the city, the poorer area won't actually benefit from his repairs, not to mention it would make Piggot look better which is counterproductive.

Screw a Joe POV, go for Tattletale, that way we can see her and everyone else's heads explode without Joe's inbuilt filter making us guess.

So many good potential POVs

Go for the Nazi model twins and make them contemplate how Survey's beauty makes them look cute.
Go for Uppercrust seeing really power.
Go for Kaiser looking weak
Any C53 Pov looking at Apeiron.

I don't recall sun wukong/friendly and badass patriarch clothes.

Any change of him being the one talking with Uppercrust ?

Still there already a lot of capes with Apeiron^^. With even more to come since you can't out PR this guy.

The obvious thing to request in exchange for curing Uppercrust is an entire city shield system that he can then upgrade for easy maintenance and put wherever he wants. That's one heck of a bargaining chip.

It's one of the few overtures to the local PRT that he can actually make, which is a good thing if he intends to begin fixing that relationship - and while the city shields themself won't have any immediate benefit for anyone living in the city (they won't come into play untill another S-class event takes place) it's a necessary expenditure and getting the work done for free would save the city several million dollars they could use to speed up the recovery effort right now.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA-

And so it begins.
From my understanding; besides Workshop Crew--- the Undersiders, Uppercrust, and Faultline's group are all present, right? It looks like the E88 and the Merchants are still not attending.

The faint sound of movement from the room at the end of the hall told him Melanie was awake. "I should check in with Faultline." He said to Emily. "If she has any last-minute plans we should get an early start.
missing"
The only points that weren't saturated with clouds of darkness were the seams, trip, and detail work.
what's 'trip' in this context?
The loose, buffy shirt replaced by a jacket edged in ermine, a redesigned mask, complete with a much grander coronet, and a general improvement in the fit, design, and style of the rest of his outfit.
puffy?
Then Joe smiled, nodded, and intended and arm.
an arm... also I'm not sure of the use of the word 'intended' from the context I would expect 'offered' or 'proffered' though in my experience that second is less common
The thing shot upright, then dartec forward, pouncing at Joe and clamoring onto his costume.
darted

The chapter was way too short! I've been spoiled and now I want More!
We always want more even if the chapter were 10 times as long we'd want more but focusing on that only brings misery instead be joyful that we had any at all
