Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

When your mental background music that plays to fit the scene is so loud you have to read everything twice. I mean...wow... he did follow through on his promise to Lisa I suppose, the entrance WAS only a bit theatrical, he just probably just didn't take into account the cumulative effects added on by each member of his team lol...

Personally, I'm giggling my head off at the fact that the entire purpose of Uppercrust making a deal with Faultline was just made defunct in moments. Uppercrust did it to help get people on Apeiron's side to presumably make him be seen more favourably and perhaps getting healed, but then apeiron just comes in and completely fucks this plan, that part of the chapter was dedicated to, over by literally walking through the door with a few friends. It's hilarious!

Is it too much of a derail to ask ppl to post their idea of "badass squad rollup" music? I'm curious to see what pops up in ppl's heads when they read Alec's scene lol

The creature, the way its body seemed to be composed of coiled fibers, the way it glowed and pulsed, the sense of pressure that accompanied the light from its body, it was all familiar. Anyone who watched the view would recognize it, only it had last been seen as a concerning mass snaking through Joe's body, not a tiny mink-like creature seated next to him, glowing with what was unmistakably the same kind of light.

Now that he thought about it, it was the same light that seemed to be coming from the red lock of hair on Joe's head. Exactly the same, even blending together perfectly.
I imagine that many heads will pop when they recognize Tetra's role in that fight. If Alec can recongize her then many other can do that too. Not to mention he also noticed Apeiron's red hair lock is exactly the same color as hellish creature, the same color from that fight.

It can be everything from bio tinker creations to monster capes that are depended on other to power up.

I would like to remind everyone that Alec is a bisexaul and his response to Joe was "Wow"

Alec be checking Joe out

I don't think you need to be gay or bisexual to feel attraction for Joe at this point anymore.

He's a literal demigod.
That Mythical Greek influence seeps through, no matter what.

Alec won't be the only one.

Though I'd like to add that Alec could also simply have stated it, because of the new upgrades.
I don't think its humanly possible 'not' to be impressed by whatever Apeiron dishes out.

He could probably create a toilet brush, which you would look at in awe and never use because you feel bad for besmirching it.

It's one of the few overtures to the local PRT that he can actually make, which is a good thing if he intends to begin fixing that relationship - and while the city shields themself won't have any immediate benefit for anyone living in the city (they won't come into play untill another S-class event takes place) it's a necessary expenditure and getting the work done for free would save the city several million dollars they could use to speed up the recovery effort right now.

Won't help so long as Piggo is the Director, she needs to keep blaming Apeiron otherwise she would be kicked out.

The idea that the City Government will actually invest the money in reconstructing the slum/gang/poor area is wishful thinking.

Also the main costs of the repairs regarding to Uppercrusts payment would be minimal vs the resources needed to make a city sized protection for an entire city so it may not be enough to repair said area anyhow.

I think matrix and accord will get along just fine.

Or the real reason, major projects that are positive draw end bringers like flies on shit and he doesn't want the attention yet. He can already make force fields better than upper crust.

It looks like the E88 and the Merchants are still not attending.
I suspect that Merchants are in a panic mode and are looking for their lost annihilator.

So it works on an endbringer with similar abilities but doesn't work on coil? how is that possible?
Consider it like some Quantum Shenanigans multiplied by Schrödinger's Cat. I doubt Coil's power is powerful enought to effectively split universe into two states, with ability to pick desired one, but it might apply some of such elements and gather data not from real one or simulated one, but from kind-of-existing non-simulated virtual universe. Since in this case Coil gathers data using real and non-magical, non-powered mercenaries, protections do not apply.

I know that Coils power actually predicts then "autopilots" Coils through the actions, but it doesn't mean that it can't have exotic means of information gathering (like starting and accessing virtual timelines).

Joe has plenty of forcefield designs.
I'm not sure if he has large scale ones. He has ground theory from Star Treck, but not the tech itself.

Speaking of Accord wasn't he or a representative of his going to show up to this shindig?
Unlikely, he is busy plotting attack on the Teeth and wouldn't have come unannounced - he would have informed Apeiron and Coil about own or attendant's visit beforehand as is proper.

Cataclysm, the Almighty Battlemaster.
War Incarnate or some kind of Warmaster would have been better. His aspect is War, no battle.

Weld had struggled with the same class of issue, one of restricted contact, and Apeiron had been able to resolve it. He had been able to manage even cosmetic changes, as was noted in the file. Surface finish now dull enough to pass as human from a distance. A purely cosmetic change, but one that resonated with Gregor.
Methinks Faultline's crew will probably be in touch very soon.

"He's still just one man." Faultline replied. "There's a limit to his attention and influence. Even if they can't face him, they could still affect that limit."
I mean he was about a week ago.

That was some really, really good writing; I enjoyed it.

On a side note, I'm wondering how Joe will go about introductions: being intentionally misleading or just lying? Personally, I'd guess being misleading as understatements could be amusing e.g. 'This is Survey, who's got good organising skills, this is Fleet, who can drive well, this is Lethe, who you don't need to worry about, this is Tybalt, a perfectly normal person who's also good at fighting, this is Tetra, who's full of life, and this is Matrix, who likes big robots. Oh, and I'm Apeiron, I make things.'

On the serious side, something like Battle Without Honor Or Humanity. However, what actually went through my head was Staying Alive by the Bee Gees for some reason.

Pretty sure he does, he has atleast one perk that lets him build bigger... Whatever the opposite of miniaturization is. Even if he didn't have that though his abilities are such that I would err on assuming he could rather than couldn't.

I have been wandering, does joe even need the undersiders anymore, or at least show them the same amount of favoritism that he showed before.

I mean in the begining he did give them overwelmingly favorable deals because his shard told him that the survival of the world hinges on Taylor and he was inclined to believe it because of his lack of confidence even though he could out do every single one of them in every department except maybe tattltale.

But now that he learned that his shard is an unreliable narrator, and he has his team/emtional support who again outclass the undersiders in every department, the only thing that he could get from the undersiders is tattletale helping him tread the cape political scene.

A role that could be taken over by uppercrust who has more experience, contact, ressources and maturity than tattletale ever could and has gone out of his way to help joe behind the scene, said help would be the only thing worth joe's help.

I'm really not sure what it is, but something about the Somer's Rock segment seemed unenthusiastic. Not like it was a letdown or something, but like you, the author, were unenthusiastic about it.

If that was the case, I suppose I want to say, don't feel trapped by the hype, if we've stuck with you this long we have faith in you and are interested in your writing style and believe you could make this interesting however you decided to present it, whether you decide to start in medias res or anything.

It was some kind of glowing bipedal animal composed of near solid masses of red strings. The fibers were closely packed, but emerged in a facsimile of fur across what parts of the creature's body were visible. It was wearing a long, black cloak that allowed the light from its body to leak through the seams in a way that was as striking as it was unnerving.
We didn't get a description of how large Tetra is. I started out assuming human-height, but the shoulder descriptions and mink comparison make her form sound much smaller.

I'm surprised Regent didn't make a note of whether he could sense a nervous system from Tybalt. I'm also slightly surprised that he couldn't sense an interactable system from either Survey or Tetra, though that makes me wonder what his sechen range does (and, I suppose, whether Apeiron-tech triggers it like he does).
