Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

I wonder if his new Feel It Out power would be able to eventually break through the blackboxing on the Simple Scientific Solution tech.

I'm fairly certain SSS tech is fiat-backed to be black-boxed no matter what, unless Joe happens to get The Maddest Science Yet.
IIRC the tech isn't black-boxed, it's just that Joe can only build SSS for household issues, and the clarketech isn't just crazy advanced but also tailor-designed for specific issues, so very hard to reverse engineer. Also destructive testing could never work.

If I recall correctly this one was discussed in thread a while back. As I recall it is effectively useless for it's primary purpose as Joe hasn't used a body mod supplement. The only vestigial use that can be acquired from this is the granting of a " humanoid form".
As far as I'm aware there's no WOG from LordRoustabout about Body Mod Pod, how useful it is will ultimately come down to his ruling on it.

And it would only be humanoid, and not fix power issues. For example, Sveta would look roughly human but still have uncontrollable hair tentacles.

There is, actually.
A big reason I'm considering the personal reality supplement now is because Joe has enough power to mimic most of the fiat backed items from it. In terms of the Body Mod pod, Joe doesn't have a body mod, and I'm not likely to give him one. While it can give anything a humanoid form, it seems important to note that says 'humanoid' not human. A seriously messed up Case 53 like Garotte could come out of it with arms, legs, and a body, but wouldn't appear as a completely normal human and could still have the control issues connected with her hair. Similarly, other case 53s could be restored to a degree, but aspects of their powers might still stick around in some form. Really, it's about what Joe could already manage in terms of restoration, only with an instant partial fix rather than his more complicated approach.

Now, if the machine could grant a body mod then it could take the Case 53 to complete human with exact control over their appearance and other bonuses as well, but without that benefit it would be limited to 'humanoid'.

Okay, so. What're we thinking the next chapter's going to be? Interlude from someone else's (I'm hoping for Tattletale, to be honest) POV, consisting of the whole "everyone arrives and sits down" part of Somer's Rock? Mayhaps a prelude where Joe describes Fleet and Survey and Matrix's bodies and the outfits everyone will be wearing? I assume Apeiron isn't having Tybalt go to Somer's Rock naked.

Tybalt came with his own special outfit and face concealing helmet. Joe already spiffed up the helmet, so I'm sure he'll do a quick upgrade for the rest before the meeting.

I heard someone said that Roust would be having an interlude next chapter or at the very least more alternative view points. Leet & Uber was mentioned. But Faultline's crew, E88, Merchants, Uppercrust, Undersiders, Lost Garden and all those is there at the meeting as a possible alternative view. I think it would help our visual image to view his team from an outside perspective. Not to mention many details might slip if we gets Joe's view from the beginning as his view point is kinda screwed. Maybe a preamble with another person looking at Apeiron's team and then when negotiation will start we'll switch over to Apeiron.

Lisa's reaction is best reviewed from the outside and in brief spurts. Taking it in from her PoV would detract from the many things going on in the meeting itself, as she goes into a spiral of analysis failure overload.

Seeing Faultline react to stuff would be equally informative given her personality while not going into crisis mode like Lisa because new information can be examined by her without overt bias from her Shard.

And I dearly want that someone to be Lisa. For all sorts of reasons, but mainly to have an inside view as all her hopes and plans start to come crashing down.
She is desperately trying to find her footing and some semblance of control of the situation in regards to Joe. Him being alone with the Undersiders as his sole contact in the world of capes is the one thing she has going. Him showing up with a surprise full team of friends and family that are all f a similar weight class, that'll knock her feet out from under her.

An interesting thing that could happen is a preamble showing someone's reaction to the crew rolling into Somer's Rock dripped out like the just kicked Leviathan's ass, a chunk of Joe's view that ends with the words oh shit as a certain star descends, then a addendum of someone reacting to Joe's new Perk.

I have a question about one of the Capstone Perks, specifically "Blessed By The Gods" from the MCU Jumpdoc. My question is how much does it boost Joe's abilities, aside from boosting the "Retroengineer " perk.

Here's the wording of the perk.
----
Blessed By The Gods
Asgard is a wondrous place, you know. Existing for thousands of years, with advanced magic and technology that would see them rise to become a city of gods... it is little wonder that they are both feared and praised throughout the Nine Realms. The royalty however, has a penchant for adopting strays if Loki is any indication. You have been likewise adopted by Odin and raised as a member of the royal family to be great like them. Not only have you been augmented by Asgardian magics to a truly attractive state that you would feel qualifies as an appearance booster, but you display a great willpower and determination to see your goals and plans through with a very strong learning aptitude to absorb information like a sponge beyond even Tony Stark as befitting of Odin's adoptive child.
----

Lets breakdown the wording of this perk bit by bit.

"You have been likewise adopted by Odin and raised as a member of the royal family to be great like them." This implies that Joe will get memories of being raised by Odin and Frigga, of being educated and trained to the standards of an Asgardian Prince. I predict that his martial prowess and technical/ magical knowledge will see a boost. I also predict that his skill at strategy, tactics, administration, diplomacy and (Asgardian) etiquette will be boosted as well.

"Not only have you been augmented by Asgardian magics to a truly attractive state that you would feel qualifies as an appearance booster..." I wonder how much Joe will be augmented by the Asgardian Magics, part of the reason I ask is because "to a truly attractive state" could mean many things. Will it just boost his appearance, or will it boost his physical/ mental/ magical abilities as well (since those are things that could be considered attractive to the right person)? Is he now as capable as an Asgardian, or is he simply on the level of Captain America? The other reason I'm asking is because of the words "augmented by Asgardian magics". There is another perk in the jump called "Augmented" that essentially makes you the pinnacle of your race. Though that might be stretching it since the "Blessed By The Gods" perk does not mention applying the "Augmented" perk, but again the wording has me curious.

"... but you display a great willpower and determination to see your goals and plans through with a very strong learning aptitude to absorb information like a sponge beyond even Tony Stark as befitting of Odin's adoptive child." To continue the quoted sentence, this sentence implies that Joe's mental abilities will be boosted, such as being able to learn faster/ better than Tony Stark, one of if not the smartest man in the MCU. Also, does the strong learning aptitude apply to learning and mastering skills faster as well, or is it just book knowledge?

As a side note, if Joe does get memories of being raised by Odin and Frigga, of growing up alongside Thor and Loki, or possibly after they've already "grown up", how do you guys think it will affect him?

Catiron - The cousin of Apeiron ;)

@LordRoustabout
This is my take on the demigod cat.
Oh my Stygian god! He is so cute and dangerous!!

I wonder if his new Feel It Out power would be able to eventually break through the blackboxing on the Simple Scientific Solution tech.

While the others have a good point on "SSS" is Black Boxed/very hard to reverse engineer, but Joe should at least build something and simply try to Reverse Engineer it, it would be hilarious that after some trance where he "peels" everything from the object, and while he is continuously trying to piece things together. It ends with something like "I understand exactly nothing of this".---

but you display a great willpower and determination to
Heck, such an increase in willpower and determination would change Joe's character quite a bit.

After the primary Interlude, I would love for a short Interlude from Tybalt's POV

I imagine if Joe gets Monstrous Strength first and has a permanent monster form, then Odin could do what he did for Loki and use a super illusion that makes him seem Aesir (Norse god) and handsome and the illusion is perfect in virtually every way, but actually doesn't change his body so he still gets the benefits of Monstrous Strength while being augmented.

Basically, his already ludicrously strong Zoanthrope Changer form becomes even stronger. Possibly any alterations (size increases, enhancing of beastial features, etc.) would make the effect even more pronounced.

Though I think by this point people are familiar enough with how Brute-y Joe is that he can lay out a powered up Lung in such a way that he becomes collateral damage for landscape alterations, no one will be eager to get into close quarters with him except top tier Brutes and Breakers, and the suicidal over-confident Striker.

Kind of hard to lose focus on his Shaker and Blaster potential after busting out those Megalasers and missile barrages / elemental AoE attacks.

I think the important part of this that we should really be focusing on is that this effectively gives Joe Another parent, who is Also a God from a certain point of view. This leaves Joe with a total of 4 parents. 5, if Frigga counts.

I feel like this is something that's potentially Theoretically possible but realistically would take such a long time of being in direct-contact with a given piece of SSS-tech that it would never be feasible to achieve. And even if he did it, it'd only apply to the given piece of tech. He could probably achieve the development of a broad range of his own Clarketech on the same level in at least a quarter of the time it would take to decode the principles of One piece of SSS tech with Feel It Out.

the Lung fight would've been a lot shorter if it hadn't been immediately preceded by one of the few potential power-combos that could actually hurt Apeiron.

Hey can anyone tell me what the Monstrous Strength perk does because I can't find it or at least where I can find it.
Whether by oddity of birth, ancestry, or mystical experiments you have gained an inhuman form. On the plus side this boosts your physical abilities in proportion to how obviously unnatural your current form is. Generally your form will be some terrifying fusion of various aspects of animals and humans, it is your choice on the particulars though. This boost also applies to other monster discounted perks. Generally you can interact with mortals without their notice so long as you stick to actions that can be reasonably explained by the Mist but even then most of those familiar with the true nature of the world will be able to spot various tells.
A perk in the capstone constellation, I really don't know how LordR will interpret that exactly. I was thinking that the Zoanthrope form may become the default one, but hopefully not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Edit: and you can find it in the reference doc

Apeiron mentioned that he could now better understand Garment so he might even be able to improve her with Feel It Out. What if he now understands Garment enough to create a fashion-to-english translator?

After a 30k word chapter dropped in which they didn't even leave the workshop, I'm beginning to doubt we'll even get to the sitting down at the meeting part. Much less the actual meeting. :(
