Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

But it is their weak point. It is in fact their only weak point: Any damage dealt elsewhere is merely cosmetic.

"Healable" does not equate to cosmetic.

It doesn't matter how good your regeneration is, if I lop off all 4 of your limbs as fast as you can grow em back, you ain't going nowhere.

That's why there's a concept of a "mission kill". Its possible to end the usefulness of a piece of equipment without actually destroying it.

A tank in a terrain hazard, like an abundance of mud, is an easy example. The vehicle is fine, everything on still functions, but its no longer useful for whatever mission was planned.

No, I was pointing out how your example doesn't apply to Endbringers, which is the original discussion point.

We appear to be stuck in a loop.

The example serves to highlight the concept. It is not the point in it self.

The Concept of a Mission Kill is that assets may be removed from play at a tactical scale, while not necessarily rendering them strategically useless.

How do we think HE is affecting the active dust scattered through the city? The spent ammo is still there, keeping up the effects, which is a completely unique thing only available due to the durability his dust has as opposed to RWBY. The effects are likely slowly adapting to become more potent I imagine, which will be an issue.

Heretical Adaptation is weird to think about in the context of a consumable like Dust, because structurally, HE is basically shonen escalation or magical girl powerups for your items, right? It's when you level up your iconic equipment to give it a cool new form. Whereas Dust and other consumables are literally just generic fuel. It's like the idea of having Heretically Adapted gasoline.

But I suspect that any upgrades to the Dust hazards will maintain their coherence and obey rule of cool.

Got some wonderful WoG about Joe's heart gathered by Cosmic, gonna post it here.

Interesting. I was never really worried about his heart being the new lynchpin of his self, because he already went through several of those - i.e. his brain, and then later on his soul - but apparently the Celestial Forge even lets you get the benefits of putting your eggs in one basket without any of the drawbacks.

Lose your awesome life-sustaining demigod heart? No problem! Just fall back on your old hardware.

Right, but it was you that introduced the concept of mission killing an endbringer as a counterpoint to the core being the weak spot.

Thus if the concept doesn't apply to an endbringer, neither does your point.

And since there is no shown way of mission killing an Endbringer short of also actually killing one...

Interesting idea I can already thinking of some ideas for some of them like sending them to an uninhabitable planet far away making them Unavailable it would remove them from play with out killing them and now we have a planet with endbringers That may or may not be useful somehow.

This should be easily doable either in Cannon (Cauldron portal + Alexandria body slam) or here (Elf portal + Glory Girl body slam). I wonder why they never tried that.

So Heratical adaptation makes things better when they're in use. How will that work for a heart, The way it's been described before is like leveling up in a video game so is the heart just constantly getting XP? Or is it how long Joe has the heart before it improves, Also how would it improve would it pump more blood or do it more efficiently. I'm just confused how this would work

Well it's bound to do more than just pump blood considering everything put into it. It acts as an anchor and amplifier for his soul so that he can better use it and communicate through it. It'll probably give him some form of regen considering it was given the power of super high quality refined ragnite. It's technorganic and an amplifier so it's probably gonna boost his technokinesis and technomancy. Probably other things I didn't catch, It's got upgrade options. Maybe a simple durability upgrade, or maybe the fact that it's the seat of his soul it could count as armor for his soul and proc Fashion all the time.

Made me think...
Quick-Heal / Control
I smiled as he was punched back. I had ended up having to fine-tune the potion to stop making me look young, but also still make me physically weaker. It was a necessity if I was going to continue training here, which I was going to, and fortunately, the new position had worked out.

Usually, I wouldn't be fighting the kid, but the potion made me weak enough that it was justifiable.

Theo exhaled his anger sharply through his nose, then jumped forward and socked me.

Everyone watching in the area immediately breathed in and winced, and Theo backed up apologetically "Dude I am- I-"

The man who often escorted Theo here, who I suspected I had run into once before, giggled nervously. "That's gonna brui... oh shit..."

I frowned. Then I recognized the slight warmth in my cheek as being separate from that feeling of blood pumping into a bruise. Raginite.

Doug managed to pick up his dropped jaw "...Did you just regenerate?"

I scratched my head sheepishly. I had to work on my control of that, or stop boxing. One would be easier than the other, but at the same time, I really couldn't have people know that Apeiron was Jozef Michal Ďuriš...

What the fuck was I meant to do now?

"I uh... the ABB attack uh... Apeiron healed me... he said there'd be leftover energy or something? I uh... didn't think this would happen. I... think I'll sit today out?"

Everyone nodded slowly, then bit-by-bit got back to their activities.

I quickly got out of the ring and left, not wanting to stay there longer than necessary.

A little meh, but fun to write.

Possible interludes:
Chubster, M.Gladly, that Coil's sniper dude, Scrub, Browbeat, Shielder (who is conflicted between his hatred about Apeiron and his role in breaking NW and his mancrush on him), that fat dude who design costumes for heroes, Parian, Sparky and Greg, Madison who already wrote 500k words of Apeiron smut fanfiction and of course Night and Fog's cat.
Now these are interludes I can get behind!

Better interlude: Survey stumbling upon the fanfic, feelings pressured by her nature to read it, does so and then proceeds to correct for SPaG, before sending it back to Madison.

What about Grue's dad, Danny, crystal, shielder, and photon mom, to add on to the list.

Oh boy, you are right, Survey do analyse all data about Apeiron, so yes, she read all the fanfics! After some time she starts to write her own stories. Suspiciously accurate and well written

.....I wonder how many crack pairings there are and how accepted is Garment x Apeiron as one of those "yeah, we know they don't know each other, but think of the possibilities!" ships.

Again, you are focusing on details.

Just because you can't think how its done, doesn't mean it's impossible. Case in point, I just finished bingeing another fic that does this flawlessly. There are circumstances to the story that give Thinkers extreme power usage based headache, exposing the Simurgh to those circumstances caused her to leave an attack site early.

Look, mission kill. Tactical victory.

Now stop being so lazer focused on nitpicking, and come back to the point.

Victory doesn't have to be all or nothing.

Actually, I have only one objection here. I'd prefer Parian interlude after she'll know Apeiron's civilian identity.
Did you really forgot about Parian's role in the fic? :o

P.S. Can't say I'm against other interludes in your list. Because I believe that if Lord decide to write this, he will do something amazing.

Wasn't there a WoG that said that the Reunion with Parian is going to be catastrophic?

Though it likely would be not a physical threat but a mental one like Joe's call with his sister, an interlude where you see the invisible Apeiron break down would be very interesting.
