Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

Thats totally fine by me! Though if it's going to be longer can it be released on Friday? Last time you released a big one I had work the next day and waiting to read it was torture!

Take your time, quality and having the story the way you want it is always more important than getting it out early. If you don't like it how are we going to?

Some typos that haven't been fixed yet:
His eyes were tired, her stance was slightly slumped, and he seemed incredibly genuine in his gratitude for her presence. Gully just nodded and decided not to elaborate on the details of her trip.
While Gully's stance is slightly slumped, I'm pretty sure that refers to Manpower, who is a 'he'.
Additional major alterations have been observed around a facility located at 23 North Lye Street.
I believe that should be altercations rather than alterations.

We lost Aegis and Gallant, but we have gained Aperion and Co, Weld, Flechette, March, Blasto, Gully, Lightstar, Dragon, Dragonslayers, potentially Damsel of Distress and a god damned State of Emergency in the city.
so... have I missed anything?

Undersiders are less stable than cannon, Taylor is in a better mental state due to having Joe know her mother and having someone to call for help.

Parain is going to be more stressed due to Garment.

The nano thorn project is lost.

Cyborg arm master earlier.

Amy now has a mentor figure in Assault, due to his former villiany and now heroeism.

Sophia is now being watched by the Yough Gaurd, so she can't pull the bull cack at school like she use to.

We probably have more new triggers than canon, maybe (and only maybe) less cauldron throwing 'potions' and 'monsters' capes at the city. Which was always weird to me given that this their warlord experiment. Anyway.

We could have some C rank cape that did not make waves in canon (had not even appeared) deciding to move away or going.

The travelers will probably come later on give the 53 among them, but I would doubt really much if was from Accord actions trying to disturb the MC.

Maybe we see some other capes moving to this big ball of conflict because their shards thought that this was a good idea.

Just that comment of Joe plus Dragon here could cause some tinkers to get here [the one of 3 day old tech that he don't care about]. Or just capes in general trying to get in touch with the maestro that is the MC before he 'went to mad scientist route'.

Oh and when/if Joe get blank resistance for precogs (other than coil) I can see the elite looking at the value of the land, the condition of the PRT and say 'meh I can fight that'.

Oh, and some other PRT capes can come take vacations just to try get this monster of a 'tinker' in their teams^^. Specially so to get fusion reactors that can be replicated (which dragon believe so). Because man that is a lot money and PRT is not a happy family...or than much clean with the law :(

Once again I have some bad news. I haven't had as much free time as I hoped this week and my writing is lagging behind. There is a chance I could get the chapter into a passable state for this week, but it would be a rush job and need a lot of elements to be cut short. As such I'm making the regrettable call to postpone the chapter for another week so that I can get it properly completed and polished. This does mean that next week's chapter will get to be one of the longer ones. I'm sorry for the delay and want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support of the story.

Well, that's unfortunate. Still, it's understandable that these things happen. We're in no position to demand otherwise.

On another completely different topic, I was rereading the chapter and came across this part.

Bakuda hadn't set this call up as a casual chat. She clearly knew I would be attempting to trace her and had done everything possible to obscure her final location. With the sheer mess of proxies and remote connections she had set up I was surprised we weren't speaking to each other with a three second delay. There was evidence of her own work in the obscurement of the trace as well as new technologies that I'm guessing came from Leet, and also a third design. More consistent in design than Leet's work, it was a kind of extremely advanced software compression that made everything more difficult to pick through. Additionally, there was probably some contribution from March, and the thinker was no doubt counting on her timing ability to cut things off before I found her.

The first time I read this, I assumed that the 'third design' was a foreshadow to another tinker with the ABB, but after reflecting on it, I think it's referring to Armsmaster, or more specifically, the data that they stole from him. What does everyone think?

I think it could be March, she arranged the Financial Play when Joe rescued Aisha

So she must have some technical/programming skills

I would bet on the software being stolen from an Armsmaster and Dragon collusion. The word 'compression' is a big give away for Armsmaster, but the fact it is software leans more on Dragon. If I am right and that was the case, then good thing he just spent the other night working through the same telecommunication systems in his battle with dragon. March probably had it set up when it would give them a much wider window to work with. The problem that it was no longer useful, but showing she kept it in anyway is one way to prove March has a lot less control then she thinks she does.

Definitely Armsmaster's designs. L33t and Bakuda did stole all of Armsmaster's data in Saturday night, so it's not a stretch to suggest that they use it.
Preamble Leet

///

"Defects like how your scanning bombs were going to steal all of Apeiron's secrets. How many did you get? Oh, right. None."

"Don't blame your fuckups on me. You weren't complaining about how those worked on Armsmaster's lab, and if your stealth tech had stood up to Apeiron maybe the plan would have held together."

///

This was it. This was the real reason why he was sticking around. He had seen it in the data they pulled from Armsmaster's lab. The scale of his long term projects. Nanothorns. Combat prediction software. An Endbringer early warning system. The kind of projects that changed the face of the world, that defined capes on a national scale.

///

Until he saw Armsmaster's data, or Bakuda's dead man encryption he didn't realize just how much better he could have done.

///

That was before he saw Armsmaster's scans of Clockblocker, Dauntless, and Battery.

Huh, I didn't notice it on first read, but L33t and Bakuda have data on Nanothorns and scans of PRT capes. And one of others Apeirons is looking through Bakuda's data bank in her lab right now. Is this a jackpot?

Oh, and Armsmaster's "Endbringer early warning system" was destroyed. If Dragon or Apeiron will not make some replacement preparation to Endbringer's attack on BB gonna be more frantic then in canon. Sounds like fun.

so.....was re-reading the story so far and picked up on something that might have been forgotten.
About 10 chapters back, Kaiser sent Purity to recruit Damsel of Distress.

So, the butterflies thus far.
Gallant and Aegis transferred out to NY and Boston (respectively) following the less than gentle lovemaking to their ass that was received from the Undersiders.
Undersiders threat rating is jacked up
Weld and Fletchette transfer in to make up for the loss to two Wards.
Fletchette unknowingly brings with her March
Aperion accidentally brings down New Wave and gets Amy stuck in M/S just by telling the truth - an impressive feat if you consider people had been trying to bring them all down for more than a decade via fighting.
March teams with ABB/Uber/L33t and turns them into monsters. Assault on rig removes movers from play without Amy able to heal anyone.
Weld is knocked into the bay, later recovered by Aperion - then begins to leak to people that Aperion can do minor-but-permanent changes to Case 53s (later brings in Gully)
Aisha triggers slightly sooner, later makes contact with Aperion and aids him
Aegis makes a good showing against Blasto, who decides to relocate to Burrow's territory - Accord considers sending Armstrong a gift as thanks
Aperion launches attack on ABB financial center (may or may not have knocked Lung the fuck out during this encounter), removes all the legit money from the organization
Aperion's sea floor lounge is recovered and assembled in Accord's office, allowing him to relax more which will likely have larger knock on effects. Accord is also the only person at this point who knows Garmet is working with Aperion (two masters united in purpose) and approves.
ABB launch massive push against all of the cities groups. March uses regular grunts to defeat Coil's mercs (how does timing thinker do this?) Lung crushes the Merchants. Flashbang is set up to run into Hookwolf which snowballs into a massive cape brawl between the lone hero and many E88 capes.
This massive loss against the ABB pushed Kaiser to send Purity to Damsel of Distress, hoping to recover someone with powers who can actually hurt Aperion if needed. Confirmation that the "allies in Europe" won't come near this mess with the threat of a "Mad Tinker" looming (Aperion)
Amy meets her uncle Lightstar/Mike who is offering to take her from the city and away from the stresses of Carol.
March sends Uber and L33t off to mess with Burrow. Burrow sends Blasto to Brockton
Aperion works with Dragon to find Bakuda's deadman's switch, gets nearly there, before National Guard is called up and state of emergency is declared. Dragon is suspected of being Mastered and Aperion says he will "set her free." Dragon and Aperion begin E-War. Tactically a draw, strategically a potenal loss as this death/respawn has made Dragon stronger with fewer chains, brought her to Brockton to "find her new daddy the scoundrel," and made Saint piss his pants and set himself up to move to the Bay as well to kill Aperion.

Vista is probably more stressed due to Youth Guard sending her home and the stuff with the bank, Gallant, and Apeiron.

Kid Win might actually be getting closer to figuring out his specialty. Sure, he thinks he's a garbage tinker, but his current situation gives him a better chance at discovering his specialty.

I think Clockblocker is the unofficial temp leader of the Wards currently (since Weld is being monitored).

Browbeat also got some praise and attention for the bank and conscripts incidents. Love how people forgot about him.

Flechette has a crush on Garment.

The Canary trial has gotten more attention and is bigger now so it'll be a drawn out more fair trial than canon.

Detail about the possible long term effects of Vicky's aura is now known and being investigated.

Bitch now has the watch with VI which means she gets access to a bunch of info since she never learned how to read. Latest chapter seems like she's attacked the E88.

Regent got some of his feelings and emotions back due to healing that dealt with past damage/influence, still a sociopath but it's a significant change for him.

Taylor has the watch which means she can get evidence on the Trio. At the very least, it gives her more peace of mind.

Dauntless got credited unofficially for the blue lightning that snuffed the fires.

Rune went with Purity.

There's also Theo joining Joe's gym.

I might be wrong, but the Merchants have Whirlygig, Mush, and Slush whos' debut might be earlier than canon.

The U&L and ABB attack on Faultine's Crew for Labyrinth might have put them out of the scene for now.

Some of these aren't that big of butterflies currently, but could have future impacts.

Edit:
Word of God also hints that the Butcher/Teeth might show up and Teacher giving Saint as much support as he needs.

Since the gruesome state of the Undersiders and Apeiron fixing them was broadcasted, Bonesaw likely now has an interest in Apeiron.

Parian is going to be more stressed due to Garment.
Wasn't Parian the college girl who Joe gave unwanted romantic attention?

So Joe indirectly screwed over her life twice? First at college, now in the BB fashion industry (and having Flechette interested in Garment rather than Parian).

Man, poor Parian is a practically a Second Trigger Event just waiting to happen.

try get this monster of a 'tinker' in their teams
Speaking of recruitment, will Coil have Chariot join the Wards? I never understood why canon-Coil had Chariot be a "known mole" that the Protectorate fed false info to when Coil already had so much insider access and throwaway timeline interrogations.

Possible tinker team synergy between Trainwreck and Kid Win as two fellow Garbage Tinkers who view themselves as flawed and inferior.

Clockblocker: "Is anyone else weirded out by Chris and Trainwreck's budding bromance?"

Vista: "Hey, this is a judgment-free zone. There's nothing wrong with two dudes becoming close friends."

Clockblocker: (jealous) "...Chris was my friend first..."

She is unlikely to second trigger, but she may stop holding back, her shard is unhappy with how she has been using her power and has not gotten enough data, so it will be pushing her to use it in a more destructive manner.

Parian power works best on lightweight materials, more specifically skin and flesh, she can create a giant flesh golem that could fight titans.

Not sure if Lord is gonna use it, but I'm pretty sure someone said that when Joe gets cybertronium forfe perk, he also gets a transformer alt-form. If he does, would Tetra still have an effect on it or do Lifefibers only affect organic lifeforms? Cause I would love to see peoples reactions to Apeiron turning into a giant robot that then enters 'nightmare mode'.

And now that I'm thinking about it, would the nanite healing work on a transformer, or would the fiat-healing come into play?

Aperion launches attack on ABB financial center (may or may not have knocked Lung the fuck out during this encounter), removes all the legit money from the organization

He totally kicked Lung's butt (according to Lung himself). Also, while Apeiron broke their get rich scheme, he couldn't touch the money already made due to the Numberman.

Dragon and Aperion begin E-War. Tactically a draw, strategically a potenal loss as this death/respawn has made Dragon stronger with fewer chains, brought her to Brockton to "find her new daddy the scoundrel," and made Saint piss his pants and set himself up to move to the Bay as well to kill Aperion.

The only reason that was a draw is because Apeiron didn't want to outright kill Dragon, so he stopped his Laboratorium machine spirit before they trash her backup (according to WoG).

Maybe, if the data don't self destruct in time (considering the ABB have March...). Then again, Apeiron isn't really against the PRT, so what would he do with that data ?

If scans good enough Joe could crack Dauntless's power-up mechanic and use it like he uses Miss Militia's "Soul Bound". I doubt that they good enough for that, but we still can hope.

Introverted got it right. Endbringer early warning system would be very useful for Jozef.

And Nanothorns, while inferior to most of Apeiron's designs, still could take a large chunks out of Endbringer's pseudoflesh. And that's without Joe's perks.

Yeah, if March won't screw Jozef over, it can be a good kush. Shame that chances of this are pretty slim.

Joe already has that from Heretical Adaptation:

I mean, to be fair, a significant portion of Joe's insane mileage is that his abilities stack and cross-multiply instead of just overlapping.

Heretical Adaptation is a great power - a power even better than Dauntless in some respects - but Symphogear powerscaling is very different from Dauntless' enchantment stacking, and if nothing else, that means they'll probably go together like an unholy combo platter.
